The book gives a very intimate and close details of the June 4th event. A lot of then knowledge and situations that could only be told by a person who lived through it. It was written within a year after the incident and I can feel the anger of the author between the lines. Thus the opinions are quite biased and expressed what the students truly feel over terrors. However, some of history’s most terrifying events need to be reviewed and explained in a more objective voice. Some of the words had lost its truthfulness because of the emotions that it carry. Overall, a good read to revisit what a participant student was experiencing of this shocking period of history in China.
