Let's follow journey with Derek and Jasmine as they rediscover a passion that never died and the lies and secrets that kept them apart.
Took me a long time to read this box set as the stories all differ in the nicety of the characters and I put it down after reading about a character I didn’t like. I have found over the many years I have read this author that I really enjoy a book, or it annoys me due to weakness, meanness or just plain stupidity of a character. There is a 6th book to this series which I have reviewed too.
1 - THE TYCOONS REVENGE I had read this years ago and didn’t realise it was the same book. Can’t find original review so here is a new one. Typical revenge and misunderstanding after interference from a rotten parent. Ten years ago these two were planning to run away together but lies are told and they separate. She of course doesn’t know the father she works for is the cause of her loss. She of course has not even been on a date, let alone slept with another man, but every time these two are alone they have sex. Ex, who is now a billionaire and has slept with heaps of women, takes over the company in revenge and finds out he has a son. Instead of talking and communicating like adults, it is all threats and anger until the truth becomes known. We also get another woman causing dissension.
2 - THE TYCOON’S VACATION Liked Drew, tolerated Trinity. Trinity was hard to like as she was just mean for too long. She had a right to her anger over being lied too but she held on to that part for way to long. Most of the book unfortunately. The fact she wasn’t planning on telling Drew he was going to be a daddy was a big no no too. Drew was all in even before he found out about the pregnancy. He was really sweet in looking after Trinity, even though she was too stupidly stubborn to listen to medical advice and put their baby at risk. So okay but not great overall.
3 - THE TYCOON’S PROPOSAL This author is hit or miss for me and this was a miss. Ryan has been a nice guy so far but in this book, his own story, he acts terribly. He starts off by helping Patsy before even talking to Nicole, nice side, but towards Nicole he acts despicably. He has vengeance for a believed slight on his mind. His behaviour is just really mean. And towards a poor woman who left him, for her own good reasons, 12 years ago, when he was only 18 years of age. Poor Nicole has to basically prostitute herself to save her sisters life. Though she is happy to take everything that is offered for Patsy, she is never going to be able to repay Ryan no matter what she says. But saying that, she gets annoying too in her childish behaviour. Her stupid stubbornness is actually aggravating in the extreme at times. Ryan’s abrupt change of behaviour after learning the truth was too little too late for me. We get a quick HEA but some sensible adult conversation along the way would have been nice rather than the feeling of two cats in a bag fighting. Such a sad disappointment.
4 - THE TYCOON’S SECRET Damien has been in previous books and his scene with Joseph at the end of another book where he says he is ready to listen and know the truth, (I cannot remember which book), made me want to read his story. I’m not one for weak heroines who accept being abused, they annoy me. And Sierra has been abused by her father for years, and even though she is more than old enough to have left, she has stayed and been used as a slave for her spoilt younger sister. No backbone or self-respect. In this book we also have a hero who was abused by a parent who should have loved him. Now Sierra’s dad is just a completely nasty piece of work but we never get a reason for Damien’s mothers lies. I would have liked Sierra to have actually stood up to her father in deeds more than thoughts. This was harlequin-esk in the vengeance, romance parts at times and everything wraps up very quickly at the end. I want to know who called the ambulance for Sierra, was it Mara? What happened to her father? Was he charged and convicted? We get a pregnancy right at the end so that this story fits into the BABY FOR THE BILLIONAIRE series.
5 - THE LOST TYCOON Didn’t feel any chemistry between these two, no heat or connection. Though this starts of differently in nature and is done reasonably well, it does start off with an abuse situation which could be a trigger for some readers. I just never felt any real sympathy for Mystic, (stupid name, no wonder everyone calls her Misty). She has apparently tried to escape from the corrupt policeman who enjoys brutalising her once before, with dire consequences. The fact we don’t get a clear and concise telling of everything that she has already gone through prior to starting this story, makes it hard to feel anything other than contempt for her. Why has she not attacked Jesse, or tried to contact the CIA as she asked a fellow employee to do. By not knowing all these parts of the back story, you do not know if she has earned any respect by trying to save herself. Bryson was likeable but his leaving her at the airport, after promising to always stay with her and protect her, was too contrived. Yes, he has a valid reason for having to rush off and does make sure her safe house is checked, but that didn’t end well for the poor agent involved. You knew at that point that Jesse was going to get his hands on her again. I fully agreed with Bryson about doing the DNA test on the quiet. No point getting everyone’s hopes up or emotions mixed. I loved the interaction between Misty and Damien, especially when they met for the first time, it was so sweet and heart-warming. We get the baby part right at the end to have this fit into the BABY FOR THE BILLIONAIRE series. I was more pleased to read about Damian and Selena than I was invested in Bryson and Mystic. I have to say I have not enjoyed this series half as much as some of the others by this author.
Enjoyed this family saga and am glad I read all 4 books together. Although there is a little repetition in some of the love making it did not bother me as others have. The plots are well worked out and there is both mystery and a little suspense involved with the romance. As an aside in book 4 the word mote is used twice instead of moat spell check can be a problem! Probably sounds silly but it stuck with me! Recommend you read the whole series worth the time and the money 4 Stars.
A Fanfreakingtastic bundle read. A box set that deserve all the accolades. Each book different with lots of hell yeah characters. Each story is different but share real life issues, loyalty, love and family. It's angst filled and drama packed. Passionate Titan family and again the delightful Andersons.
Very well written with a handful do exceptions in 5 books (moat, not mote). Engaging, full of the type of sexual energy one doesn't know to wish for until they've experienced the lack of it. Full of love, family, and overcoming one's own issues, as well as outside obstacles.
3.5 Stars - Two of the stories were really good, the others not so much and that was unfortunate. Some of the heroes were jerks. I really wanted to live this entire collection, but just could not. I would have rated this whole set with a 4 star review, but there were too many errors throughout.
An enjoyable set of books although some were really far too similar but a few had more substance to them instead of just man meets woman sparks fly she ends up pregnant love follows and all live happily ever after. At least there is plenty of romance hot alpha men feisty women and hot sex.
Baby for the Billionaire Books 1-3 is by Melody Anne. This series of books continues the original series. Having them all together makes it much easier to read this series. You don’t have to wait for the next one.
I just fell in love with all the characters. This was my first time reading about Bryon and Misty but my second and third time reading the other books. I could reread and reread and reread and the books never get old.
Each of these stories is very enjoyable. The Anderson family is filled with alpha males and the luscious women they marry and have families with. The suspense and mystery in each of these stories will be sure to keep the reader turning pages.
The overall set got three stars, but I have individual ratings below. I read all of them back to back, and the similarities between the characters and plot between the first three stories got to be tedious
The Tycoon's Revenge 3 stars Plot: C The plot was pretty predictable. And a simple conversation all those years ago would've saved so much heartache. And for all of those men to believe somebody they didn't know with questionable character over somebody they were supposed to know and love was stupid. Characters: C Derek was a jerk, and I didn't like him. I liked Jasmine and I understood why she did everything thing she did. She was a very believable and likable character. Sex: C Nothing special.
The Tycoons Vacation 3 stars Plot:C Pretty boring plot consisting of Trinity fighting the whole way. I wish more of Drew, and especially Trinity's background was explained. We know virtually nothing about them. Characters: C I really like Drew. I don't see much wrong with his withholding the truth and he had a good reason. I like his protectivness and possessiveness. I disliked Trinity. I don't like her stubbornness and her constant fighting with Drew, to the detriment of her and the baby. Sex:B-
Tycoon's Proposal 3 stars Plot: C A variation to the above book plots. There was nothing special about this plot. And there was no great conflict that really needed working out. Ryan didn't even find out the truth behind Nicole's actions from her, he got it from someone else. Characters: C Both characters were ok. I didn't like Ryan, and how he treated Nicole. He was a jerk, trying to bend her to his will. I liked that Nicole had a backbone. Sex: B
Tycoons Secret 2.5 stars Plot: F It kills me how these people in these books want revenge in somebody for treating them bad and supposedly ruining their lives, when they are willing yo do the same to get revenge. To hurt others and use them for their plans. To become the very thing they despise. Characters: C+ I liked how Damien realizes that he has strong feelings towards Sierra, but that he still has his revenge plot is stupid. And I fund it hard to believe that she would all of a sudden grow a backbone after 25 years if cowering from her father, and bending to his will. Sex: B There were some pretty hot scenes
The Lost Tycoon 3.5 stars Plot: B I liked this plot better than the others. It wasn't the same old over possessive billionaire that was a complete jerk. Instead we had a heart breaking story of of abuse. But the plot seemed to drag on and on. Characters: B I liked Bryson and Misty. I liked how much Bryson cared. He wasn't a jerk, he was protective and didn't really fight his love for Misty. I liked Misty's character. I understood why she acted the way she did, and she was a strong character. Sex: D
Liked The Tycoon's Revenge alot. Virgin heroine/alpha hero.
Did not finish The Tycoon's Vacation because the heroine kept mentioning her ex. Don't like that. Not a virgin heroine/beta hero
The Tycoon's Proposal was ok. Virgin heroine/alpha hero
The Tycoon's Secret was so so. Very inconsist with the plot. The heroine was being stalked for years was kept in the dark about it by her abusive father. That plotline disappears. what was the point of it???? Virgin heroine/alpha hero
The Lost Tycoon did not finish. Hero was in an abusive relationship with a bad cop goes on the run the FBI finds her to bring down bad ex. Felt no romance. Too much focus on the bad ex. Don't like heroines to have that kind of baggage anyway so I dnf'd. Not a virgin heroine/beta hero
I thought it was good, but when you read them all back to back they seem to follow the same outline (the first 2 for sure).
The third was cute and not as annoying as the first two.
The one with Sierra and Damien left me slightly confused in terms of why the author mentioned the 'letters' at the meeting when D met S (prior to her being in the room) but never followed up on it. As you can tell trying not to give anything away. Regardless, this annoyed me to the point of mentioning it and remembering it 3 books later.
The final book was lackluster for me. Probably cause it was more a romantic suspense which I wasn't wanting to read at the moment.
Each book had the same wonderful "Anderson family" feel to it. All of them had their own unique (for Melody Anne books) storyline, and yet they kept their connection to the books before them. The characters and their interaction were great. The passion and love was in abundance.
This collection of Melody’s Baby for the Billionaire’s was a great read. I loved all of the stories and how they all tied together in some way. I also loved how it tied to her earlier Billionaire Bachelors series (I love the Andersons). It is definitely a collection I would recommend. (individual reviews have been written for each book).
I have loved everything Melody Anne has written. This is no exception. Great heroes and beautiful heroines with stories that'll pull you in and make you want to be a part of their world. I highly recommend you read this author.
This was an A list book. Loved all the relationships, the romance, the love and most of all the babies. Those men were very protective of the ladies. Really great series. I recommend these books for all the fans of the Anderson Billionaire.
Love each book, the absolute love shown from family right down to each character. Steamy sex filled with great passion, you will be continually swept into it. Absolutely loved now I'm on to some more great reads by this spectacular author.
Loved each story. Each one overcame so much. The women weren't money hungry if anything they didn't want the money and wanted to do things on their own. I loved these books. Great read. Thank you.
