Americans are sharply divided over a great many issues, but there’s one thing we increasingly agree Our Government Sucks! Unfortunately, while we agree there’s a problem, we don’t always agree on the solution. In fact, we listen to the “experts” on television and quickly discover they are in disagreement as well. So experts are no help at all. So if the government sucks; the politicians suck; the experts suck; where does that leave us? The author of this book suggests the only way out of this government mess and back into sanity is the old-fashioned way. Citizens should start thinking for themselves. In A Blueprint for Government that Doesn’t Suck, Wes Walker takes you through the ultimate experiment of thought. What are the competing ideologies and why are they so diametrically opposed to one another? What do “you” believe? Can you defend your views? If you read this basic primer on government, with courage and with honesty, you will undoubtedly come out the other side as a better, more thoughtful and well-informed “citizen”.
I enjoyed reading Wes Walker’s book “A Blueprint for Government That Doesn’t Suck”. To me, it felt like it was written in the spirit of our colonial generation when vital and quickly digestible arguments were written and circulated in pamphlets. Walker does a great job of boiling the issues down and finding common ground before making his case. I found it to be a great discussion about the fundamental differences between those who seek more government and those who seek more liberty. It could make a great conversation-starter if given to an interested friend or family-member. I hope to read more from Mr. Walker in the near future.
