Rate this book
Dr. Shane Somers is a 28 year old physicist and engineer who develops a new form of telecommunications based on Albert Einstein's theory of Quantum Entanglement. His new invention makes the fastest internet connection look like the Pony Express by comparison and could be worth hundreds of billions of dollars if brought to market. Meanwhile, China's top secret agent is determined to acquire the technology for Mr. Chu, the ruthless owner of Chu Industries, a network of over-sized factories in China known for their disregard of the environment and inhumane treatment of its employees.

Magnus Gunnarsson, Shane's long time best friend and former high school rival, pays Shane a visit after not seeing him for several years. Magnus informs him that he now works for TAG, an organization that doesn't officially exist, but has the mission of countering international corporate espionage while also acquiring new forms of technology for the United States in the name of national security.

It is now up to Shane and Magnus, reunited best friends, to track down China's super spy and reclaim the technology before it's too late. But the infamous spy has a few tricks up his sleeve that neither of them see coming. Despite the odds stacked against them, they must succeed... America's economy and global dominance hangs in the balance.

In addition to writing, I have worked as a consultant on the production of the major motion picture, "Paranoia", starring Harrison Ford, Gary Oldman, and Liam Hemsworth. The movie is based on the best-selling book by Joseph Finder. Before I took up writing, I was an avid adventurer. Some of my exploits have included: Backpacking through the Siberian wilderness, climbing the White Mountains in the dead of winter, traversing the jungles of South America, kayaking the entire length of the Maine Island Trail, and diving on shipwrecks off the atlantic coast. I served in the Civil Air Patrol, an auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force, and earned the Billy Mitchell Award presented to me by senator William Gormley. I also earned the United States Marine Corps' Distinguished Athlete Award for Wrestling. My international relations include serving as a U.S. student ambassador to the then Soviet Union while living in Moscow for a short time. I currently reside on the Jersey Shore with my beautiful wife Jenny and our two sons, Sawyer and Easton.

I thought the plot and characters were well written. The story line was as real as they come especially since China is one of our biggest adversaries when it comes to corporate espionage. It was a fairly quick read however the back stories on the characters were a little long in my opinion I'd recommend this book to anyone who likes a quick read with a lot of emphasis on action.

A fast paced industrial spy novel with a hint of US Government involvement. The good guys are abducted and transported to China by a ruthless Chinese business mogul who wants the new technology that one of them is developing. If you are a fan of action adventure stories you will enjoy this book.

I have rated this book 4 stars.

I obtained this book from Amazon in Kindle format.

This book was a very solid 3. I would give it a 3 and a half if that were possible.

The story was well written and well researched. This is the first time that I have read a techno-thriller. There was some unnecessary profanity and a plot element that had our good guy end up in bed with the bad guy's daughter. I am not sure what that added to the plot. I think it could have added something if she would have shown up again at the end of the book. But, that was not where the author saw the story in his mind.

Reading this book at the same time as the Cussler novel and while they can both be classed as action adventure books the writing style can't be more different. This book has a decided old time pulp fiction (like the Nick Carter books) feel and a more unpolished delivery than the Cussler. And I wonder of the author is a fan of Cusslers Dirk Pitt books? The two main characters have decided similarities. It was a reasonable read but has a way to go to really get more than 2 stars.

I recommend Entanglement - it's a good read. I enjoyed the story and the plot. Unlike a lot of eBooks, and especially the ones I find for free, I did not notice glaring typos or editing errors. This was a book that I wanted to keep reading, I didn't get bored, and I didn't anticipate what would happen next.

Not a bad book, but the plot is overly simple and the characters have too much of the typical macho, cool guy feel. Overall not very believable and a waste of what could have been a good story.
