I usually enjoy Beth Kery's books. I've been looking forward to something new from her. This serialized novel is a real disappointment.

The new trend to release in small increments is annoying, frustrating and is a quick way to lose my book buying dollars.

I want to become involved in a story. I want to stay up late to finish a story because I am invested in the characters and their situation. I don't want to read two chapters, wait a week and read two more. A week later, I have moved on to something else and don't want to have to remember...oh it's time for the next two chapters.

I would have been willing to pay the full price of all 8 parts if they had been offered as a complete novel. But buying them at $1.99 a pop for 8 weeks is not for me.

Please, Ms. Kery, don't do this to your readers!!

Think I will re-read Wicked Burn instead.

Read this last night and loved it--I've always been a big fan of Beth Kery's writing. Hero is a dark, mysterious billionaire, but I really appreciated how the heroine challenges him--heck, she even fences against him. Only two chapters in and there already was one scene that made my contacts fog. (Steamy!)

Note that this is a serialized novel, with new chapters being released every Tuesday for the next eight weeks. This part, Part I, was two chapters long.

As as side note, I find that the concept of a serialized novel really works for me. It's the same reason I've started watching more TV series than movies--as a working mom with two young kids I often don't have time to sit down for two hours and watch an entire movie, but I can easily pick up a 22 or 44 minute show each week. I'll be curious to see if more publishers begin releasing these...

This novella was just...eh. Far too short to really get to know the characters, and the story ended just as it was beginning to heat up.

At this point, i doubt i will continue on with the series (a new novella will be released each Tuesday for 8 weeks at a $1.99 a pop).

*Angry rant coming up*

I'd heard about this serial through Julie James on Twitter, and as soon as I checked the summary out on GR, I knew I wanted to read it.

However...I think that the fact that the author priced each part at £1.49 is ridiculous. Let's work out the maths here shall we? There are so far 8 parts available for order/pre-order on Amazon, each priced at £1.49. To read all 8 parts would mean paying £11.92 in total. Now some of you may think that you would pay that anyway for a trilogy, but to that I would say that with a trilogy, you're paying for approximately 500+ pages (that's how long the Fifty Shades trilogy is according to Amazon UK.) On the other hand, the first part of Beth Kery's series is 57 pages long, the second part is 42 pages long. If we say that each part is roughly 45 pages long and multiply that by 8 (the number of parts), that works out as paying £11.92 for 360 pages. Btw even the Fifty Shades trilogy (kindle version) is cheaper than this series on Amazon UK.

So what was the point of this rant you ask? Just to point out that I think what the author is doing is outrageous and a complete rip-off, and I for one will not be supporting this author by buying the parts at these extortionate prices. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a cheapskate at all. I'll happily pay for books that I can't wait to read that sound interesting, or that are a part of a series that I love, but I refuse to support this author in her money-making scheme.

*rant over*

I am the Cat who walks by himself, and all places are alike to me.

Francesca Arno is a bohemian, starving artist who is the recipient of a philanthropic prize given by Ian Noble, head honcho of Noble Enterprises and self-made billionaire. She's at a cocktail evening to receive and celebrate her award and to display some paintings when they first meet. He's self-possessed, calm, icy and she is inappropriately dressed and a little flustered.

He is taken with her and commissions her to paint the view from his penthouse. He's a sexual dominant and is very attracted to her but tries to keep his distance even though she plagues his daydreams but, when she interrupts his fencing match, he cannot keep his hands off her.

While this felt slightly longer than other e-serials I have read, it is only 2 chapters long and the reader really does have to form a judgement at this point whether or not to continue with the series as they really are a costly journey - much more expensive than a standard novel. Normally, after 2 chapters, I would still be forming opinions and not have made up my mind about a novel.

So far, I am not warming to either character. I don't think we have got to know them well enough yet but the standard of writing is good, and, on this strength alone, I am going to carry on and read part 2.

I need to be impressed soon though.

I didnt rate this very high because it was so short and cut off the story before i would have liked. I see that there are several books in the series, and the problem i have with this is i have to pay for a lot of books that are very short. I think i could really get into the story if it wasnt so broken up. Because of this i am rethinking purchasing the other books.

‘Because You Tempt Me’

Because You Tempt Me is the first part in this eight part erotic serial by Beth Kery. I really have enjoyed her books in the past, and I am excited for this continuing story. I’ve never really read a serial before, where I have to wait each week for the next part to be told. I believe this first part has two or three chapters in it. It is a quick read, easily read in one sitting. Every Tuesday from today, through the next seven weeks, another part will be released.

Francesca is an artist, who entered her painting into a competition held by the billionaire, Ian Noble. Francesca wins the competition, which means she is now commissioned to create the centerpiece painting for the lobby of Ian’s new Chicago Skyscraper. Francesca shows up at her celebration reception, feeling a little out of sorts. Everything is super fancy, and she is more plain, calling the way she dresses, ‘boho chic.’ Ian arrives and greets her (somewhat distractedly) but they share a drink together and Francesca surprises him. While she may at first feel overwhelmed, she also speaks her mind. This intrigues Ian. He invites her to his place, to show her where he wants her to paint and why he chooses his penthouse as the location.

Ian is a billionaire after selling his social media company. He also owns an internet retail business. While he has tons of money, luxury and can have any woman he wants, he leads more of a lonely, solitary life. Why so lonely, you ask? Well –

He was a reluctant dom, perhaps, but a full-blown sexual dominant nonetheless. He’d long ago grown to accept his nature, knowing it matched his solitary fate in life. It wasn’t that he wanted to be alone. He was just wise enough to realize it was inevitable. He was consumed by his work. A control freak. Everyone said it of him – the media, members of the business community…his ex-wife. He’d resigned himself to the fact that they were all correct.

Fortunately, he’d grown used to his solitude.

He becomes extremely attracted to Francesca from their first meeting, but doesn’t want to ‘subject her to his demanding nature.’

Francesca on the other hand has no boyfriend, and three male roommates. We don’t’ get to meet them in this first part, but hopefully we’ll be introduced soon.

It is kind of hard to review this, since I’ve only read the first few chapters of the book. I debated whether I should wait until I’ve read two or three parts before reviewing, but at least for this first part, I wanted to talk about it so you guys could have an idea what the book is about. I hate to use the *whispers* Fifty Shades of Grey reference, but it does have a similar feel. Also reminds me of Bared to You by Sylvia Day. The hero is dark, mysterious, and very dominant. The heroine is young and doesn’t have her life settled yet. I can’t say yet what type of match Francesca will be for Ian, as it is still too early. But I’m very interested to find out.

This first part is basically the two of them meeting, working out Francesca’s arrangement for completing the painting she is doing for Ian, and Ian having a very, very hot scene by himself. You might want to read just for that. I feel like I need to be convinced more as to why Ian is so attracted to Francesca, but we have a ways to go.

A nice start to this erotic serial, and I’m looking forward to part two next week!

★★★★1/2! Because You Are Mine series, book 1-8 of 8. Another whirlwind romance with a dominant & controlling, rich & sexy alpha male hero!

“Because You Are Mine” (Ian’s & Francesca’s story) is an 8-part series, released in the fall of 2012. Combined they make a 368-page read. Please note that the Omnibus will be released in March 2013.
And there will be a sequel to this series, “When I'm With You” (Lucien’s & Elise’s story) to be released in 8 weekly installments starting March 3, 2013 (series complete by April 23, 2013).

Since I am a reader in need of a HEA, I made sure I waited to read this series until all installments had been released. I read it in one sitting, thus I will review as a set.

Hero: Ian Noble/British/30 years old/mogul-playboy/$$$$/dark hair/blue eyes/dom
Heroine: Francesca Arno/American/23 years old/student-artist/red-gold hair/brown eyes/innocent

Francesca is a young artist, who entered her painting in a competition held by the billionaire, Ian Noble. She wins the competition and is commissioned to create the centerpiece painting for the lobby of Ian’s new Chicago Skyscraper. The book opens up at the reception held in her honor. Ian and Francesca are introduced and she feels in instant attraction (recognizing he is out of her league) while he is intrigued, but reserved. He knows she is too innocent for the likes of him. Francesca is a bohemian; she is naïve, sweet and kind. She has a strained relationship with her parents, never quite measuring up. She lives with her three male roommates who are very protective of her. Ian, on the other hand, is the rich and extremely successful business mogul; he is enigmatic, worldly, handsome, sexy and oh so dominant and too “corrupted” for her. But there is much more to it, because Ian is full of secrets. For starters: The reception was not their first encounter. Four years prior Francesca had painted “The Cat That Walks By Himself”. As it turns out Ian had been the inspiration for that painting. She had been sad to have to sell it. And Ian had bought and tracked her down…

Ian tries to fight his attraction to Francesca, but it’s a losing battle and so their whirlwind romance begins, taking us across the ocean while Ian and Francesca get to know each other and have lot of scorching hot sex. But as Ian’s secrets are revealed, his mysterious past continues to cast shadows over their relationship. Their love is challenged and their future threatened.

I thoroughly enjoyed Ian’s & Francesca’s story. And I very much look forward to Lucien’s & Elise’s story in “When I'm With You”.

When I opened up my Kindle to read last night, I was so excited that the first installment of this sexy serialized novel was waiting for me! I'd forgotten I'd pre-ordered it.

Unlike a few other popular erotic novels I've read lately, I could really relate to the two main characters right from the start. Ian is intense and magnetic without crossing the border into Creep Town. Francesca thinks of herself as slightly clueless, but she's not naive and doesn't come across that way to others. I can't wait to find out what happens next. And oh, man, it has one of the hottest 1-person scenes I've ever read.

A note about this being a serialized novel...I totally loved it! Given my busy schedule, I read mostly at night, right before I go to bed. Even if a book is riveting, sometimes I'm just too tired to keep reading. This was the perfect size. Two meaty chapters that has me eagerly awaiting the next installment.

If you're the type of reader who likes to sit down and read from cover to cover in 1 or 2 sittings, you may want to wait until all the installments come out. But if you're like me, grabbing chunks of reading time here and there (mostly before bedtime), this is perfect!

Read my weekly interview and giveaway with Beth Kery and more of my reviews and ramblings at Ana's Attic Sexy Tales

**ARC of Because You Are Mine 1, Because You Tempt Me was provided by the publisher. This serial novel has been called the next Fifty Shades. I can see why. Rich, dominant billionaire tycoon meets young innocent college girl. But this is told in a different way. Each “book” is essentially 2 chapters of an 8 part serial novel to be released weekly through October 2012. It’s more like a BDSM romance themed weekly TV series!

Francesca is a masters student in Fine Arts and has won a competition for a commission in the lobby of Ian Noble’s new Skyscraper. Since she had to fill out a lengthy application for the competition, Ian knows a lot about Francesca. Probably a lot more than is on her application as well.

When they meet at the cocktail party in her honor, it’s obvious sparks begin to fly. Francesca has some totally inappropriate thoughts and finds herself reacting to him differently than she has ever reacted before.

Ian, it seems is having the same reaction (judging by his really hot masturbation scene), and though he tries to fight it, apparently the pull is pretty strong.

I am finding it so hard to review this as its own entity because it isn’t, it is just a piece of the whole, and this installment is just the beginning, setting the groundwork for the rest of the series. But what there was certainly made me want to begin the next immediately, and luckily the publisher provided me with the first two! And believe me, it was worth waiting a week for.

Likes:

-Good set-up to a story.
-The beginnings of what look to be SUPER hot scenes.
-It is not just a lady porn series, this one was just a preview of the sex, but we got to meet the characters and get to know them.
-I really like Francesca.
-I am curious to know more about “the cat” reference.

Dislikes:

-Too short! I would have liked to see a bit more for $1.99 each, or at least this one should have a cheaper 99 cent introductory price.
-Waiting for the next.
-I haven’t totally fallen for Ian……yet.

I am going to hold off on a rating this on the blog until I review Because You Are Mine 2, or even wait to read more. On sites where I have to, I will give it a 5 but I really don’t feel I can review such a small part of a larger work. Since I have read and loved other Beth Kery books, I can tell I’ll love it though.

The second half of this book is a preview of Wicked Burn, and the preview is as long as the book, but that’s OK because the preview is TOTALLY hot, and for me, I enjoyed reading it even more than when I read the whole book the first time! My review, as well as the gift my husband bought me after is on the blog.

Beth Kery is also visiting Ana's Attic Sexy Tales every release day (Tuesdays through September 18) to give away one of her installments and answer YOUR questions, starting right now!

I read the e-book out of curiosity, and now I completely regret doing that. It's just another (baaad) 50 Shades wannabe.

This is by far the most stupid series anyone has ever come up with. I hate to say really bad things about a book, but it's like Twilight and the multitude of vampire novels that followed. Now there are perfectly respectable authors who have decided to throw away creativity, imagination and originality by latching on to a trend which will be more profitable in the end. Money over substance. By blatantly joining the "current craze" bandwagon while throwing quality in the air, these authors should be ashamed of themselves.

The plot is way too similar with 50 Shades - just another deviant CEO and submissive girl. But the author and publishers shamelessly decided to take it one level further and made each book reeaally short -- 2 chapters! -- so that the whole novel would fit in 8 different books. What were they thinking?! I could just imagine the $$ signs in their eyes while planning the book's release. The author seemed to write really well, and I understand that she's already an established writer, though I've never read any of her books before. It's just very disappointing to see her employ her skills this way. What a waste.

If there's zero star or half a star, that would be my rating. It's beyond bad.

****A heads up if you have a NOOK. You can "read-in-store" for free on this title up to an hour a day. Plenty of time to finish such a short installment****

I'm not even sure how to rate this one. Writing/characters/set up? 4-5 stars. Kery's a great writer and so far her characters are interesting and solid. I like the set up of Francesca, who is an artist, being more or less commissioned for a piece by Ian. Francesca seems like a capable heroine so far and Ian has me interested in him and why he's reluctant about being a Dom. And gotta say he had some self loving going on that was pretty damn hot. Who knew! Definitely a first for my reading but hell if I didn't enjoy it. I really liked that these two have a past connection even if it was just in passing. It was a nice touch.

Now the price? Yeah like others it's completely ridiculous to have 30 pages priced at $1.99. I already don't love the whole serial book thing. Two weeks from now I'll have read nearly a dozen other books so will have to start over again anyway to remember what was happening. Then with the cost? No, definitely not for me.

This is my introduction into Beth Kery and may I say, "Hello. I like your writing style". ;)

I won't compare it to the popular choices, "Fifty Shades" or "Bared to You" because the serialization concept alone makes it stand apart. But there seems to apparent themes like engaging, faceted characters *cough* Ian Noble *cough*, a unworldly ingenue type heroine, a worldly yet enigmatic hero, alludes to scorching, sweat romping sex, domination and possible kinkiness. But I don't know as of of yet because...it's just the first part.

And, damn it, I'm engaged now to the other seven parts because for a beginning, it was subtle yet gripped my curiosity to know more. Not giving you five stars, yet, Ms. Kery, because I want to see how far these two characters will go and leaving room to grow.

I am anxious though for next week's release where I'm hoping to learn more about your characters.

When Francesca Arno meets Ian Noble during a cocktail party held in her honor, she is suddenly bound to him by a desire that is strange and exciting for her. Francesca, who is working to complete a great centerpiece for the lobby of Ian's newly designed skyscraper, is not accustomed to experiencing such a purely sexual response to any man, especially upon the point of a first encounter. But, although it seems unsettling to Francesca, it is also undeniable and irresistible. Ian, a darkly intense and dominating character, sees something fresh in Francesca—true innocence. The prospect of possessing her is impossible to ignore, and Ian is a man who always gets what he wants...
...However strong the physical attraction between these two may be, there are complications from the start when this couple's flame is ignited. Francesca must first learn to yield to the passions of Ian in order to awaken her deepest fantasies. And Ian has his own inner demons to face before this sexually charged romance can become something more intimate and lasting. What does the future hold for Francesca and Ian? Find out in Because You Are Mine by bestselling author Beth Kery.
Because You Are Mine is somewhat of a special release in that the novel is serialized, meaning it will be released in parts as a series. Each installment adds to the saga of Ian and Francesca as they follow a tumultuous course to greater intimacy. Kery has a special appreciation for erotic contemporary romance, and her writing has a certain flavor that will be much enjoyed by romance fanatics. Furthermore, she pays close attention to the full development of her characters. This is especially evident in the growth of her primary characters, which serves, of course, as the foundation for the novel.
If you are ready to turn up the heat in the midst of an already sweltering summer season, then look for Because You Are Mine. The first part releases on July 31 and all subsequent parts will be released on a weekly basis for a total of eight weeks. O...M...G... I do believe this is the best 2 chapters I have ever read. I took the time to go over reviews and waited a while before I bought Because you are mine. I was not sure how I was going to like reading and buying a book by a few chapters at a time. I am so happy I took the chance and bought it. The first chapter was ok but the second chapter freakin’ blew me away.

This is my first read with a sexy Fencing hero. I am curious about Ian the hero, what made him so lonely and have never taken another serious relationship since his ex wife. I have read many books with a heroine and their sex toys but never read one with a hero and his sex toys. Wow... Beth Kery did a sexy job writing about Ian playing with his sex toy. I enjoyed how he is all business at the beginning and then while teaching Francesca how to fence brought out his playful side. Trust me the fencing scene is hot and fun.

“You’re leaving your octave unguarded,” he murmured. She gasped when he struck her right hip with the side of his blade with casual precision.

There is one scene that I did not see coming and that was with her painting he bought of hers. This is what I love about Beth Kery’s writing you never know what is going to happen next.

As always, Beth Kery’s writing you get beautiful descriptions of the characters, scenery and you always feel like you are right there in the book. When Ian is putting on Francesca jacket for her, I felt like he was putting it on me, moving my hair and placing it back over the jacket.

His knuckles brushed against the skin of her shoulders. She repressed a shudder when he slid his hand beneath her long hair, skimming her nape in the process. He gently drew her hair out of the jacket and smoothed it over her back.

Beth Kery is a talented author that out did herself with Because you are mine. Not a lot of authors can pull this off by selling a few chapters at a time. Beth Kery nailed it. I am officially hooked and look forward to reading more about Ian and Francesca. I highly recommend it as long as you do not mind buying a little bit at a time. I like it this way and Wish I would of read it when it first came out. That way I would of have to waited a little bit before the next one and so on. It just makes it something to look forward too.

BECAUSE YOU TEMPT ME is the first novella in Beth Kery’s 8 part novella “Because You Are Mine” series. Each week beginning July 31, the publisher will release a subsequent novella in the series culminating on September 18 with Because I Am Yours.

Ian Noble is a billionaire Internet mogul. Making his first billion before the age of thirty Ian thought he knew what he wanted. Descended from royalty, he dined with the rich and famous, required order in his life, and a felt the emptiness of being alone. But a piece of art, painted by Francesca Arno called to his very soul. Had she known whom she had painted?

Francesca Arno is a starving artist struggling to finish her master of fine arts degree. But finishing first in the “Far Sight’ art competition would land her commissioned work in one of Chicago’s newest buildings owned by Noble Enterprises and help pay her debts for a very long time. And when Ian Noble suggests she paints the skyline seen from his penthouse window, it is all she can do not to question his motives. She was in way over her head. But Ian had a secret-demons that road him hard. And his need to control overrides a desire to love.

BECAUSE YOU ARE MINE-Because You Tempt Me is a very fast read. Basically a couple chapters in length, the novella quickly introduces the two main characters about whom the series will focus. Ian Noble has many secrets and considers himself a reluctant Dom, but at this point in the story we are privy to one ‘sexual’ encounter of a personal nature, and he was definitely the dominant at the time.

With the popularity of Fifty Shades, the similar storylines are flooding the market-the heroes are abused and trying to find their way in life. Success and money definitely do not buy happiness or peace or mind. Guilt and shame, acceptance and love are the overriding themes to the premise of these novels. Because You Tempt Me only hints at the potential for such a storyline but the character of Ian is screaming for help without ever considering the consequences of his actions.

This book is very very short so this review will somewhat reflect that;) First of all, I was aware that this was part of a series when I picked it up. I have obviously read lots of series and usually each book is a story of it's own with the whole series being a larger picture into the character's lives. This book didn't really feel like a complete story and looking at the release schedule, it seems that what could have been one book was cut into smaller sections that will be released week by week. I am not saying I will not like the complete story when it is all said in done it is just that when this one ended my only thought was "WHAT?".

I really liked Francesca; she is an artist and if you have read many of my blogs you know I love art and artists;) She had a little bit of an eccentric quality and a gift for seeing people as they are which is probably why she is such a great artist.

Ian I am not completely sold on. The book marketed to be for those who loved 50 Shades and he did not compare to Mr. Grey one bit. (I usually would not compare but when that is the marketing tactic, my mind goes there!) He actually was a little strange and he came off as a little creepy (maybe it was the toy he used on himself). He just didn't get my heart pumping.

The book begins with the two meeting and continues as Francesca starts working for Ian but then it ended rather abruptly and I did not feel like I had even read a book (or even novella). Usually books have a get to know you phase, followed by build up (really the meat and potatoes), then conflict and then resolution. This one got me through the get to know you phase and partial build up but then it was OVER!

Overall, I really don't even know how to rate this because I usually take the story and writing into consideration and the story fell short.

4.8 Stars!

Wow....the series says for those of us who loved the Fifty Shades Series....it promises to deliver! This is fifty-five pages of the novel...in this first installment...what a nice introduction to what promises to be a fantastic story.

Francesca, a budding artist, meets her benefactor the powerful, untouchable head of Noble enterprises, Ian Noble. He has little time in his life to get involved with a art grad student. But when she wins a contest and is hired by his firm to paint the art work for the lobby of his new corporate highrise building in Chicago, he has a hard time getting her out of his head.

He invites her to his apartment to show her what he wants her to paint...the view from his high rise condo of the city. She is in awe of the priceless art he has collected and then she sees the paining over his fireplace...a painting of hers...The cat who walks alone. Her very first painting she sold... among all these masters her painting stands in a place of prominence.

She starts to work at his apartment where this spectacular view is and he does his best to ignore her. She is too innocent and he too jaded and his life too complicated to get into a relationship. But he has a hard time keeping her out of his head. While fencing with his friend Lucian she shows up to give him a very important message and when left alone the two start fencing....it is a very sexy, scene that ends in him promising to punish her if she does not protect herself and them against the wall in a very hot encounter.....

And just like that we are left hanging for book two!

Do yourself a favor and don't lose your brain cells by reading this book.

Although, props to the author for making this book a serial, because I would have dropped it LONG ago, but for my inability to not finish a book, I kept tuning in for the ending, and that ending was shit.

Francesca is a weak, pathetic character who has no personality, and Ian is your stereotypical Rich Bachelor (and speaking of, why are all heroes in contemporary romance rich? Because apparently all women are interested in is money. Thanks for enforcing that stereotype.) and there is absolutely nothing in this book that makes it memorable.

I just can't stress how horrible this book it. It's teeth-gnashing bad.

I'll just save you some time and sum it up for you: Francesca paints, Ian likes bondage, he wants her she wants him, he Can't Commit (when can they ever? No, seriously.), she loves him for reasons that are never explained, he acts like a dick to her, she falls in love with him anyway, there is no evidence that he's going to Change His Ways, but apparently She's The Only One For Him, and everything is miraculously resolved in all of five paragraphs. I feel like the author ran out of time and was like SHIT GOTTA WRAP THIS UP.

I actually liked 50 Shades more than this book (and that's so hard to say) because there was a semblance of plot and the characters had more than one personality trait (although that's debatable).

Ok, so I'm not a hundred percent sure which book was released first, Fifty Shades or Because You Tempt Me. I guess I could Google it if I cared enough to really get to the bottom of this mystery, but alas, I don't. Either way, there was an un-canny resemblance to each other. Even down to the token black male character with dreads...hmm, weird.

And the fact that this book is only two chapters...hmm, double weird.

Then there is this thing that happens, this thing that both interested me and concerned me...the fact that she wants to please this guy from the second he starts eye raping her. Was it because of his accent? Cause I could see how that could work...hint to dominating me with your accent and other times stare at me. Just stand there and stare. While I stare back. Then heat would rush to my sex. And your cock will throb. Yeah. Just staring. Nothing strange about this at all.

Maybe I rated this one three stars because not too much happened, I couldn't be annoyed or excited, because nothing. happened. Nothing. They spent most of the time breathing on each other and daydreaming about each other, like a couple of teenagers.

Eh, I guess I'm on to number two...

I feel that two stars is a little two generous for this one. Though I have read all eight titles in this series I am only going to review this one because I really don't think it's worth the effort rating all of them.

I will not go into describing the storyline because the entire series was a copy of Fifty Shades and to my opinion that says it all. At least some authors have the decency to specify that in the book description so that the readers at least know what to expect.
Though I have read other novels that were very fifty Shades alike, I actually enjoyed reading some of them, but in this case I did not feel any connection at all with the characters and the lack of originality was a complete turn off.

I consider that the fact that the novel was split into eight parts and sold for $1.99 each is a lack of respect for the readers.
While I do understand the business side of publishing, and the fact that an author's work has to be financially rewarded, this was too much.

I am positive that I will not buy or read any of the author's future titles.

Hmmmmm. This was super short, which I expected. But I was kinda pissed that the story ended at 69%. The rest was excerpts/previews of the author's other books. That annoyed me. Because this is a serial, we get a cliff-hanger ending. It had a 50 Shades/Bared To You feel. Ian is the older rich man. Francesca is a young, inexperienced grad student. I don't have a feel for the characters yet. I'm not sure why Ian and Francesca are attracted to each other. He comes off as kinda robotic; no personality. I will say that there is a surprising moment (for me) when Ian masturbates using a device. And he really liked it. I'll probably read the next installment because I want to know what happens next and see where this relationship is headed.

Even though there's a 50 feel, I didn't think that Because You Tempt Me is very angsty. So far, there's no angst. I don't know how I feel about that.

IF YOU WANT TO READ THIS BOOK THEN BORROW IT OFF SOMONE

This story is a 50shades-esque erotica. 20something virgin girl finds herself attracted to a man for the first time and that man is a hunky young millionaire, who is sexually particular into BDSM, and continues to be affected by his childhood trauma. They start a relationship, she has her sexual awakening with him and no doubt despite starting out demanding only a sexual relationship with her he is going to fall in love with her and she will help him through his issues.

Whilst the writing is considerably better than 50shades what is particularly irksome about this series is that each ‘novelette’ is only 2 chapters (and about 40 pages inc covers etc) long at £1.50 per ‘novelette’ it is such a rip off.

Having read the first few and now spent more than the price of a standard book I am not continuing with the series.

I've actually read the first 3 issues of this 'serial novel'. To sum up without re-hashing the plot (you can read about that in other reader's reviews) It's a well written hot little story, it's just a shame it's written in instalments and not as a compete novel. At nearly over 35 pages, it gets you hooked and then it leaves you hanging until the next issue a week later... very annoying! My recommendation is if you want to start reading these instalments is to give it another month when ALL the chapters are completed and then download the whole 8 issues (hopefully they might be discounted if you buy in bulk?) And yes, it's in the '50 Shades' genre, so if you want something else very similar (though a bit steamier) give this story a go ; )

Okay, I knew going in that this was a rich, domineering guy meets poor girl story, which I keep telling myself to avoid. But being the optimist that I am, I continued reading and ended up upset at myself.

But the storyline was so, so, so reminiscent of 50 Shades of Grey! The whole time I was reading this, I was thinking Christian and Anastasia NOT Ian and Francesca. See? Even their names are almost similar...

I'm not going to continue with the series because I have better books to read. I would've DNF the book but when I decided too i.e. 50 pages in, it was already the end.
