The brother sure got dark fast, but I'm still kinda happy he got his wish.

Still, thinking about how he is gonna mess around with the psychic life and especially how he got mixed up with the local punks, I know it's gonna get worse before it gets better.

But now we've got the obligatory shadow organizations showing up, and knowing One, from his other works, I think it's gonna get goofy and OTT. :)

Ugh, this high school political drama is uninteresting and frankly just boring.
Then the fight with the adult just takes forever and is brutal to inflict on a bunch of kids.
I guess it advances the plot. But this is just disappointing after the previous volumes.

The very highlight of this volume will be brotherhood’s dynamic between Ritsu and Shigeo

It makes you rethink how we always been on the perspective of Shigeo who have the psychic power, his struggle in daily life and so on. That’s what I love about Mob Psycho 100, they showed the perspective of those who indirectly affected from Shigeo having psychic power, his own brother.

Ritsu with his own inferiority (have to be better than anyone else) deep down actually cares of his brother but it’s true that, his inner conflict to stay as ‘good brother’ just because of not letting Shigeo’s stress piled up that will trigger uncontrollable psychic power which he’s afraid of.

And Shigeo being Shigeo could see right through the core of his brother that not all of them is a lie. Shigeo looked up to Ritsu as someone he wish to be, popular and perfect 10.

The thing I love about it is ONE managed to portray the most realistic brotherhood. Laced with some jealousy but still at the end of the road, it’s your brother you care about and will do anything to protect.

Can’t wait to continue the next volume!!

Ritsu and Mob looking badass [Source]

Noooo this was the first volume with no omake! :( It was also pretty devoid of humour in general. But do you know why? Because we’re making way for intense fights and drama, boiiiiiss!!!

The volume in which .

Yo these volumes are such insanely fast reads. Each volume has nine chapters—which is actually a lot considering weekly shonen manga usually have seven chapters per volume—but it doesn’t feel like it at all. The pacing is so smooth and the action so riveting that the pages fly by by the second until I’m forced to realize that it’s the end of the volume. I swear it feels like I finished this volume in like 30 minutes; Which is insane because it usually takes me an hour and a half to finish a volume of manga, or an hour if it’s really fast-paced. But in reality if I look at the receipts: I think this did take me an hour to read. It just felt way faster.

No time for a lengthy review, I wanna keep reading! On to the next volume!

Part of my 2025 year of friend recs

Back to not very sweaty characters 😂 I swear this author just flips a coin to decide the artstyle direction.

The middle school drama is a bit uninteresting reading as an adult. However, I'm enjoying the direction the story is taking.

Almost forgot how much I like Shigeo. His character is pretty awesome, and not just because of how strong he is. I can't wait to see his character growth.

4/5 I liked this volume more than the last even though it's taken a swing towards stereotypical shonen. Mob's jealous brother, Ritsu, starts developing super powers with the help of a returned Dimple. Ritsu starts going a little power crazy while helping the student council frame and get rid of the schools delinquents.

Events build up until a new organization is revealed and we start to see some super powered battles. We once again end on a cliff hanger. I personally prefer this manga when there's more action involved so I'll take it as a win. I'm glad to see and actual plot building. This wasn't working as a gag/daily life manga personally.

Mob under the sea on the cover of volume 4.

I love Shigeo- and now I feel weirdly invested 🥰 I didn’t think I would be at the time, the art was a bit out of my wheelhouse 🤔

WOW... This was such a good book. We just find out about the evil group called "claw" and they kidnap super humans, brainwash them, and have them be part of their group to end the world. And the main character's brother gets kid napped and not they are going to save him. So far really good book and I love it.

4/5 Stars (%78/100)

It was a pretty good volume overall. Things got interesting regarding Ritsu and the whole Awakening Lab plot. A lot happens in this book with Ritsu awakening his powers, meeting new characters, and importantly, the introduction of Claw. Koyama from Claw is introduced and he is an extremely powerful esper who goes head to head with Mob (well at least before the explosion). The fight between him and Mob was great. I also like this evil esper organization. The ending of the volume is also pretty interesting.

Mob Psycho 100 is back for its fourth volume. Ritsu’s psychic powers have finally awakened, and he has teamed up with Dimple to unleash his full power. When school gangs go on the move to find the infamous White T Poison, Ritsu decides to test his newfound strength on the unsuspecting delinquents.

Ritsu has generally lived an admirable and honest life, suppressing his jealousy of Mob’s psychic powers. By hiding his feelings, Ritsu was also sealing away his dwelling abilities. Ritsu’s torment served as a catalyst to break his emotional seal, providing him the power that he long desired. Ritsu uses his powers in contrast to Mob’s methods. While Mob tries to minimize his powers, Ritsu attempts to push his abilities to the utmost limit. In doing so, Ritsu warps his own mental state, dwelling in obsession to raise his power. Ristu has finally obtained the power that he long desired, but he’s losing his own identity in the process.

What ties Ritsu’s character arc together is Mob’s brotherly compassion. Mob was aware of Ritsu’s frustration over not having powers, but he never realised how much it weighed on him. When Ritsu spitefully confesses that he’s always resented his brother, Mob feels responsible and remorseful. Mob views his own powers as a burden, and those same powers have caused his brother’s suffering as well. Despite his brother’s mistakes, Mob won’t give up on Ritsu and the bond they share.

This volume also introduces the villainous organisation Claw, which is composed of numerous powerful psychics. The 7th Division member Megumu Koyama immediately showcases the threat the group poses, effortlessly taking out Ritsu and striking fear into those around him. While Koyama is easily overpowered by Mob, he is still able to incapacitate him using a tool. It emphasises that even if Mob’s strength is incomparable, he still isn’t invincible, and Claw can capitalise on that opening. Given the closing events of the volume, it’s clear that we haven’t seen the last of Claw, and it will be interesting to see what threat they pose in the future.

While ONE’s artwork will not appeal to everyone, it doesn’t have to. ONE’s loose and rough art-style gives the manga a unique charm that can’t be found anywhere else, and alongside his fantastic draughtsmanship, he crafts a thoroughly entertaining manga in spite of any artistic gaps. This is especially true during the fight between Mob and Koyama, where ONE uses meticulous line work to emphasise the tension of the situation. Mob Psycho 100 is a manga that only ONE could create and that makes it an engrossing read.

Mob Psycho 100 continues to be a thoroughly entertaining manga that only gets better and better. From ONE’s unique visuals to its compelling cast, the series is an absolute blast to experience.

Title: Mob Psycho 4
Author: ONE
Genre: Supernatural, comedy, action, and shonen

I am aware that this is only volume four, BUT this was the best out of all four books, thus far!!!! Shigeo Kageyama nickname Mob has a brother name Ritsu. All through volume 1-3, Ritsu was trying to get his powers. In this volume, Dimples reappears to Ritsu with his powers already unlocked. (Which is some debate, some feel that Dimples unlocked Ritsu power, but no!!! They were already unlocked). Dimples then possesses Ritsu, which unlocked more of his powers.
Ritsu, was very jealous of his brother Mob. He also found it unfair that the Mob was born with his powers unlocked. Eventually when Ritsu got good with his powers he beats up some delinquents at the Awakening Lab
Mob could not believe at first that Ritsu could do something so heinous as this. But after a good look at every beaten-up person. He realizes his brother did this and immediately apologizes to Ritsu. So instead of these jerks taking the apology and moving on. They began to tell Mob he must get on his hands and knees and beg for forgiveness.
This Mob Psycho Volume 4 hit differently. I enjoyed all the characters, and I enjoyed how this volume ended. It ended with love and two brothers finally uniting. I cannot wait for books 5 I hope they keep the love going !!!!

I really enjoyed this volume. To start off, I really like how the cover art with Ritsu falling or lost inside a sea, which shows how deeper and deeper he is going in order to get power and be better than Mob. Ritsu is beginning to do anything, and even getting help from a spirit in order to get his own powers. I also really enjoyed the addition of Claw, the evil organization looking to take over the world with people that have psychic powers. The addition of a greater threat makes the reader more interested. The relationship between Mob and Ritsu begins to dwindle, as when Ritsu finally awakens his pychic powers, grows even more power hungry, just to be better than his brother. A moment of this volume that I thought was very impactful onto the reader was when Ritsu took down a whole group of kids with his powers. And when Mob sees this, he bows down and apologizing to the kids, asking for forgiveness and to be friends with Ritsu. This moment really shows the current relationship of the brothers, and how Mob still is trying to find ways to forgive his brother for all of the actions he has done. Overall, with Claw now being the big bad guy, I wonder how Mob and his brother will come to terms to beat them, or if they would both split and go their own separate ways.

A cumulation of everything that's come prior.

The first half focuses on Ritsu, Mob's little brother. He's given a push which changes his personality, still doesn't make him interesting. Not that I think Mob is that interesting but his interactions with people are class and his deadpan makes me laugh. I'd give this portion of it a 2 out of 5, nothing really happens and when it doesn't it's only because of someone else.

The second half is back with Mob, still loving his time with Tome. I'm hoping they become a couple, they're very cute together. In this Mob actually shows so emotion which is a nice change of pace, you still get the deadpan to. The action scenes are a lot better as well, for once there seems to be actual stakes, I'd give this a 4 out of 5.

Both are tied together by , strangely the most fleshed out and easily the most enjoyable character.

I’ve never been this split on a series: volumes 2 and 3 were an improvement, but this one lacked genuine interest. While the comedic moments and action sequences are a lot of fun, I’m not entirely sure I like where the story is going.

Is this a rare moment where I just jump to the anime instead? Maybe it’s the art that’s lending to lackluster sequences? I love everything about the cover and design of this book, but once I open it… I’m not sure.

Still going to keep reading this one, but I won’t be surprised if I drop it around volumes 5-6.

This is the first book of Mob Psycho that has me really looking forward to more. The previous books were entertaining enough for me to keep buying them but where the story goes in this one has me wanting the next chapters immediately.

The progression we see Mob take in this volume is great and the story has set up higher stakes. The world building has increased and new intriguing characters have been introduced. Looking forward to where this story goes…

Ritsu whyyyyyyy you gotta act like this, giving me those Sasuke vibes 😵
I wasn't gonna rate these but oh yes I'm loving where this story is going and LIVING for those Mob moments, they give me Ken Kaneki flashbacks lol
This is 5 stars because its an easy lay back manga when you don't want to find yourself thinking to much and enjoy a few fight scenes here and there.

Goodness grief, Ritsu is such a mess. And interesting one, but a mess all the same (and I definitely totally don't relate to him a little too much). Even though Mob and Reigen weren't in this volume much, it was still pretty good, especially because Ritsu is such an interesting character on his own. also, I like the cover.

My sister and I watched the anime first, then I decided to pick up one of the mangas, and it did not disappoint. The reason my sister and I loved the anime so much was because of the art style. The manga is the truest version of this art style, its cute, Dupree, and simple. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a book to turn your brain off and have a suitable time.

This volume is pretty good. It shows how Ritsu actually feels about Shigeo and he was only nice to him because he was scared of him. Even after Ritsu told Shigeo that, Shigeo was still happy for him and even fought to save his life. It also shows how power can get to your head.

Ritsu lets the power get to his head, while Mob... idk, is pretty chill? We get actual villains now, after being hinted at in the previous volume. And seeing some sort of confrontation between Ritsu and Mob is great.
