From the New York Times –bestselling author, a kidnapped surrogate baby brings together an estranged husband and wife in this romantic suspense.

Shock didn't describe Rachel Dillard's feelings when her estranged husband told her the her precious embryo had been stolen! A child—their child—had been born and had become a pawn in a killer's deadly game. Finding their baby was her priority now, but the familiar heat of Jared's arms was proving a dangerous distraction . . .

One touch of Rachel's lips and Lieutenant Jared Dillard knew he'd do anything to have her back in his bed. Bringing their baby home was the first step. Stopping a murderer was the second. And if risking his life was the only way, he would prove the power of a father's love . . .

Rachel is in the witness protection program, about to testify against her former boss, when her estranged husband Jared shows up at her door to let her know that the embryos they had frozen before their separation have been stolen, and one of them has been used to create a baby. Somewhere out there is a baby with their DNA who is being used as leverage to prevent her from testifying. Rachel and Jared have to work together to find the child - and perhaps find the love that they lost.

I've read a couple of Delores Fossen books that I liked, and I keep reading this one (I think I've read it three times now) in the hopes that it'll improve. It doesn't, or maybe it's just not a good fit for me. It's not that I find anything offensive in it, I just find it relentlessly dull. Despite a plot that should have interested me, I couldn't work up any real feeling for the characters, and their romance had no emotional impact on me. I can't explain why this happens sometimes - some books just don't resonate with me, I guess. I don't really have much to say, either positive or negative, so I think I'll put this one in the to-sell pile, and move on to the next. 2 stars.

One of the Best I’ve Ever Read!

This book is so good! It was a fun read and suspenseful right from the get-go! I could hardly put it down! If you suspense and romance then read this book! You won’t regret it!

This book felt like it was written by a high school student who has read Mom's romance books and decided to give it a try, with no knowledge or research about the content of what they were writing. One particular sentence really bothers me 'Rachel put the rest of the burger and fries that Jared had picked up for them.' PUT THEM WHERE??????
All that being said I can see this book being a movie, not a good one, but.....
