An interesting book that mimics the form and ideological thrust of the 1950 text _Mass Culture_ which too had a point/counterpoint format in discussing "American culture" and its relationship to nation and citizenship. Didactic with its questions, bibliographies, etc., this text embraces the "enlightened reader citizen" ethic that was key at the beginning of the Cold War and here again in the Reagan era.
