The girl who has spent her life running is about to be caught . . . by love
After a shaky past, Kelsey LeBreck’s future is looking good. She’s been saving money for culinary school with her earnings from The Ranch, a private BDSM resort. Even better, she’s landed a day job where she can practice baking and flirt with her favorite customer. However, having secret fantasies about Wyatt Austin is where it has to end. If there’s one thing Kelsey knows can derail her, it’s a relationship. But when a danger from her past threatens to steal her fresh start, the intense executive may be the only one who can help her.
Wyatt doesn’t have room on his agenda for dating, but something about the pretty young waitress stirs desires he thought were long buried. So when he needs someone to pose as his girlfriend at an important business retreat and finds out Kelsey needs to go off the grid for a while, he can’t resist making her an offer. Soon, Kelsey learns that Wyatt’s power in the boardroom is no match for his power in the bedroom, and she wonders if her heart will survive. Because Wyatt Austin is a man who gets what he wants, and now he wants her.
Roni wrote her first romance novel at age fifteen when she discovered writing about boys was way easier than actually talking to them. Since then, her flirting skills haven’t improved, but she likes to think her storytelling ability has. She holds a master’s degree in social work and spent years as a mental health counselor, but now she writes full time from her cozy office in North Texas where she puts her characters on the therapy couch instead. She is a two-time RITA Award winner and a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author.
The description clearly states that this series is about BDSM, if that's not what people like then they shouldn't read the books.
I loved this one. Wyatt is socially awkward, nerdy, sexy as sin and romantic. He doesn't think he's but out for relationships because he's a workaholic. Wyatt is Jace's older brother and like Jace, he's sexy as hell. Loved that Jace was in this one, he's basically in every book of the series. He's funny, laid back and witty. Jace always manages to steal the scene he's in. Would love to read another Jace story.
Kelsey is Brynn's younger sister. She has a past she's ashamed of and is running from. She works at the Ranch as a Dom. Kelsey's past has come back to threaten her and she's ready to run after trying to set her life straight.
Kelsey wants to go to culinary school. She's a waitress during the day and a Dom at nights. Wyatt always goes to where she works and Kelsey is attracted to him.
Wyatt has his secrets also. He use to be a Dom but has shut that part of himself close. But when he does that switch, he becomes a totally different guy. He's very in tune to his partner. He doesn't want to do anything that will bring any sort of harm to his sub. He doesn't want to push to fast or to far.
Kelsey decides to help Wyatt after he approaches her with a business deal. Kelsey's charming, very social, she knows who to interact with others unlike Wyatt. Wyatt doesn't want to go on the trip but his father makes him. He's the one who holds Wyatt's future in hands in the company and Wyatt bends to his father's will.
Love that Wyatt learns to stand up to himself towards the end where his father is concerned. He's also establishing a relationship with his brother Jace. He listens to his brother's advice for once.
Roni Loren's books in my opinion are all better than Fifty Shades of Grey. There's a plot to the story. The characters are real and believable. I highly recommend this series.
The first 15-20% of this book really had me hooked. But as with others in this series, I just don't love the bdsm aspect - like how the heroine immediately starts using "sir" - I think this author has a great voice, but I get tired of the D/s stuff in this series. I guess I just wanted Wyatt and Kelsey to not go so D/s.
Anyway.
Otherwise I really liked both H/H. Wyatt wears glasses and is all geeky smart. Kelsey is a former stripper/alcohol abuse etc. I liked them together.
I'll def continue to read this author and I will also continue to hope she writes a non-bdsm one day :)
02/15/2019 - Rereading this for the third time. It is one of my favorites. This story has some components that I usually hate, but it is so well written and the characters are very likable. I paid $11.00 for the ebook version and I have no regrets. I rarely pay anything more that $3.99 for an ebook and honestly I rarely do that with the amazing "invention" of Kindle Unlimited so $11.99 speaks volumes about how much I love this gem. I think this one of the five books I would bring on an island if I had a choice. I need to buy the paperback version now.
12/07/15 - I am in a major book blah right now and decided to reread some of my favorite and unforgettable reads. This is another one that I really enjoyed. I don't usually like heroines that play the DOM rolls in BDSM, but Kelsey was very likable. She was trying to survive and she was not aggressive/masculine. She was very feminine. Plus, Kelsey is not really a DOM. She just had a hard past and was doing what she had to do to survive. Plus she did not have sex with the subs that came to her.
08/13/13 - I cannot believe how much I liked this book. I had no expectations whatsoever. When I first started reading it I thought it was going to be another BDSM book. A typical story where a rich hot guy meets a regular cute girl and they share a strong attraction for each other.. Well it was kind of like that except it was a bunch more too and I loved it. The first 35% or so of the book I thought was okay, but then at around 40%, I could not stop reading it. The story had some BDSM and some steamy scenes, but it was not overdone. There was much more than just hot sex between these two characters. You saw these two people grow into a relationship.
“I don’t know how to be normal. The closer we get, the more I want to run.” He leaned over and pressed a kiss to her forehead. “Then I guess I’ll have to be faster than you.”
Some of the scenes were so STEAMY. My cheeks turned pink at certain scenes!!! It was pretty hot.
This couple had some great chemistry. I think what made the chemistry great was that I really liked both characters a lot.
Kelsey is strong and beautiful and smart and I just loved her. She has had a tough life and got mixed up with some bad people when she was really young, when she knew no better. She is now trying to make something better for herself; save up money to go to culinary school and open her own bakery. But in order to do that she needs to take up two jobs. Plus, she is on the run since her past is coming back for her.
There was the whole game of Wyatt telling Kelsey he does not do relationships and Kelsey always worried that she will put her out there for Wyatt and he will break it, but I love those games!!! And I think what made it really good and steamy is that Wyatt was always so protective of Kelsey. He was all alpha but he trusted her, he believed in her.
“Too young. Too sweet. Too messy.”
You sensed in the book he cared for her even though he was denying himself the opportunity to give his whole heart to her. I loved it!!!
“I would happily stand up right now and tell everyone in here that I am dating you-a girl who kicked and scraped her way through a life that would’ve crushed most of the people in here. And that she the beautiful, kind-hearted, and tough-ass woman I’ve ever met.”
I cannot believe I have not read or heard of this author before and then before I start this book, I see that it is the fourth book in the series. I am planning on reading the previous three books in the series.
Sidenote: I loved Ferris and Mrs. Pritchard. I wish there were more scenes with them. Will there be a sequel with Wyatt and Kelsey??? If there will be, I want Ferris and Mrs. Pritchard to be part of it!!
The author wrote great characters with a nice story with some really great steamy scenes. I really liked this one.
Roni Loren continues to deliver delicious books with characters that are worth reading about. First of all, I love how the characters are interlaced with her other books in the series. Grant being one of my favorite characters makes many appearances in this book which warms my heart. Jace, Wyatt's brother also is an important character. This makes me want to go back and reread all the books in the "Loving on the Edge" series. Even though this book can stand alone, it helps to understand the story lines and characters. Makes for a richer experience. Second, I love throng female characters. Even though Kelsey has her past and her trials she is trying to recover from, she continues to be strong and determined to do right by herself first, before letting a guy influence her life. Helpless females are grey to me. Kelsey is so much more and has a story of her own to tell. Third, I love the passion and uncertain feelings the two characters experience. Makes you root for the underdog not knowing when the shoe will fall, per say. Wyatt learns a great deal about himself throughout his time with Kelsey but he too learns to take a chance at being happy. I loved Wyatt's surprise for Kelsey, the one that took a lot of help from Jace and Brynn. Mrs. Loren is very creative and the twists and turns not only kept me on my toes but made my heart smile for the two characters. Finally, the sex is ridiculously hot. While there is some aspects of a D/s relationship mentioned, it is a sexy, respectful and beautiful scene when the two are together. I appreciate the respect written into the story that the two characters have for each other. I have thoroughly enjoyed this book and loved every one of Roni Loren's books. I must thank Tiffany Reisz (The Siren) for turning me onto this wonderful author. Another hit story for me!
This was a super hot, sexy, and intriguing read that I couldn't put down! I loved Wyatt and Kelsey coming together and their off the charts chemistry. They had a fantastic push and pull I couldn’t get enough of. Loved it!
I loved learning Wyatt and Kelsey’s history and understanding what they'd gone through in their past. I loved how strong Kelsey was, how she overcame so many things and was working for a better life. Wyatt was so sweet and sexy but he also had this quiet strength happening and I loved watching him let his guard down and open up. Their story is filled with a bit of drama and emotion, just the right amount of playfulness and a whole lot of heat. I really enjoyed the D/s relationship they were having and how that was pushing boundaries for Kelsey. Wyatt was so caring about it all. I liked Kelsey's struggle and the power dynamic and how it all played out.
I liked all the characters, their interactions and tension created with some of them. It really added to the story. I thought the writing was great. Roni Loren has a way of really pulling me in, getting me excited about what I'm reading and making me feel 100% invested in the characters. I was even loving smaller side stories happening. The drama is pretty light, not to taxing. It just gave it that exciting feel that moved things along nicely.
This was just a fantastic read. If you want a solid story filled with a whole lot of sexy, wonderful characters, and just the right mix of emotion, Caught Up in You would be a great choice. I'm loving this series!
Yet another great, great book from Roni Loren. I honestly loved this book from start to finish. We've met both characters before (Wyatt is the brother of Jace from Melt Into You, and Kelsey is the sister of Brynn from Crash Into You) and I absolutely loved getting to know Wyatt and Kelsey better and watching them fall in love. From prior books, we know what a hard life Kelsey's had and I loved seeing her overcome her fears and anxieties and embrace the fact that she's good enough to have love in her future.
This book is also hot, hot, hot. Though Kelsey is a submissive, she does some Domme work on the side, as well. I thought that she might have some problems submitting to Wyatt completely, but when Wyatt turned it on, Kelsey melted (as did I, let's face it). The internal struggles that Wyatt and Kelsey have with themselves are really great and bring just the right amount of drama to this story. My one complaint is that I felt the story seemed really short. I would've loved to have some more scenes of Kelsey and Wyatt on the island or maybe even an extended Domme scene with Kelsey. There's one Domme scene in particular that's mentioned in passing later on in the book that I would've loved to be able to read. Missed opportunity, I say!
Though you could read this as a stand-alone, I certainly wouldn't recommend it. Besides, all of the books in this series are great, so if you haven't read them, you're seriously missing out. I, for one, can't wait until the next book in the series. Mama needs some Kade time (FINALLY!). Is it 2014 yet?
Coming back to this series after a few years proved to be a fun time. I felt Loren did a great job building Kelsey and Wyatt's growing feelings to each other. Their insta-connection helped spark the flames of their heartfelt conversations and romantic escapades. Despite some outdated terminology and content, communication and comfort are valued. Any problems that arise are addressed immediately.
I had a few more problems with Caught Up in You than Loving You Easy beyond my 17 year old self wanting more Ren and Hayes action (online fanfic and stories made me hungry, if you catch my drift). The skeletons in Kelsey's past don't get much page time after the start and are cleaned up rather quickly. I understand why Loren did this, especially given Kelsey's arc. At the same time, thinking about the ending of Loving You Easy (although I also had a similar issue with it), it lacked some payoff that would have been emotionally gratifying. Props for the parallels, though. I also found the middle to be pretty repetitive. We'd bounce back and forth between potential conflict, sex, and brewing doubt. It wasn't my cup of tea.
That said, I'm still interested in tackling the other two books from this series on my TBR because I think what's at the heart of Loren's stories grabs my attention. I want to see her romances blossom from beginning to end. I also think she throws in references to her past and future material in a tasteful way to make readers understand the worlds she creates. Caught Up in You may have had some bumps in the road, yet it was still a nice escape.
If you’re reading this book for the plot— don’t. It wasn’t bad by any means, but we all know why you picked up this book, and it wasn’t for the lacklustre backstory. The smut delivered, though, and was steamy and plentiful. An overall 3/5
“Give me a second. I think I’m sporting girl wood.”
Everyone has experienced a crush on someone at some time. For former stripper now waitress Kelsey LeBreck it’s her weekday suit and tie fantasy man, Wyatt Austin, who graces her table daily for his morning breakfast. What Kelsey doesn’t know is she is the very reason he drives out of his way to eat at the Sugarcane Cafe. Over an egg white omelet, turkey bacon and coffee, both Kelsey and Wyatt lightly flirt and make conversation while imaging far naughtier things they would like to serve up to each other. When Howie Miller enters the diner seeking retribution against Kelsey for being an informant with facts that landed his brother in jail, Wyatt steps in with his fist before Miller has the chance to follow through with his threats. After the cops arrive and Wyatt takes Kelsey home, she discovers that Miller and possibly someone else from his operation paid a visit to her apartment first before arriving at the diner. Knowing that she has to leave, Kelsey lies and tells Wyatt she will go to her sister’s house but where she ends up is at The Ranch; a BDSM resort where Kelsey moonlights as a part-time domme to eager subs. Kelsey asks the owner/operator of The Ranch, Grant Waters, if she can take on a few extra trainees and make some extra money in order to start over somewhere else. Grant reminds her that the requirements of a trainer involve a thirty day submissive immersion so that she will experience both roles. Kelsey agrees to the training. What she doesn’t know is that Wyatt has found her at The Ranch with the help of his brother, Jace, and she is about to receive a proposition from a former dom that she cannot refuse.
Grant’s story in Fall Into You is my favorite of the series but I will say that Wyatt made a scrumptious and memorable impression. Underneath the smart, sometimes reserved, spectacle wearing businessman lies a hot, alpha male. Spending time with Kelsey not only revives Wyatt’s desire to be a dom but also allows him to emotionally invest in something, or in this case someone beyond the job that consumes his life. Given Kelsey’s history in the prior book and her desire to be a domme, I did not expect to connect with or even like her. I was very wrong. Kelsey’s past is enough to make any woman cringe. Held against her will by a sociopath and rapist who beat and tortured her for three days; no wonder she has issues with submission and intimacy. Kelsey has overcome drug and alcohol abuse used to mask her pain and instead of being bitter and defeated, she has fought hard to set her life on track in a positive direction. Wyatt sees her strength, is attracted to her and both want to act on their attraction without the promise of commitment.
"He didn’t see her as the fuckup or a trauma victim or even a piece of ass. He saw her as a woman. He saw her. And the simplicity of that felt amazing, empowering."
Roni Loren succeeds in creating an immediate chemistry and sexual tension between Kelsey and Wyatt that builds throughout the story. I was engaged from the first scene in the diner and knew immediately that I would enjoy both characters. Their progression of self-discovery as well as their joining as a couple made for a very steamy and satisfying read. My only issue is I have said from book one that the BDSM portrayal has always felt light-hearted, often frivolous and out of place at times with the characters. Kelsey fell quickly into the role of a sub and it was hard to believe given her traumatic history. As the reader, what I enjoyed the most was witnessing Kelsey and Wyatt’s journey in overcoming the need to be “normal/without baggage” and accepting who they are as individuals while learning they are worthy and capable of love.
The emotional growth of Ms. Loren’s characters really shines through now that the series has progressed which made Caught Up In You and overall sexy and enjoyable read.
Favorite Quote:
“You’re a naughty man, Wyatt Austin,” Kelsey said, bending down and kissing him.
“And a hard one.” She wiggled her ass against him, drawing a shudder from him.
“Hey, hot girl on lap. What else am I supposed to do?”
I picked this book out of a few being offered up for early review because I've heard such wonderful things about this author and this series of books. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to go on a test drive. I am so glad that I did because this story and its characters were captivating grabbing my interest and emotions not letting them go until the end. This is an erotic romance to be sure, but it has a heartwarming quality to it because the main characters and what they brought to the story.
I hadn't read the earlier books in the series and this one very obviously contained story threads and characters that had been introduced earlier (which I plan to go back and read), but I was able to follow the story and connect with it just fine.
This book takes up Kelsey's story who was introduced in the first book under harsh circumstances and also Wyatt whose brother already had his story. Kelsey has gotten her life back on track and has goals for herself. She's waitressing during the day and domming at night to save money to go to culinary school so she can eventually open a bakery. She takes a look, but don't touch approach to relationships including how she fantasizes about the handsome Wyatt who comes in every day to the diner for breakfast in his expensive suit oozing of wealth and success.
Ever since his brother brought him to eat at the diner, Wyatt comes not for the food, but to watch Kelsey. She is the bright spot in his day- not that he has plans to do anything about it. He knows he's messed up and can't do relationships. Then his father gets him into a jam by insisting that he needs to go to a huge businessman's retreat in his place and its a plus one invitation.
Part of Kelsey's dangerous past catches up to her and she needs to speed up her plans to earn her way out of town and to her dreams of school. She goes to Grant out at The Ranch where she works as a Domme to get some extra hours and money as an instructor. He reminds her that she must finish the submissive side of her training before she can do this. When Wyatt comes to Kelsey with a proposal for her to act as his lady for a week at an island retreat, she counter offers with her request that he dust off his dominance and train her for a week. And little did the two of these 'no relationships no commitments' types know what they were getting themselves in for.
The plot weaves a slower paced telling of two people that must forsake their pasts and learned to trust that they deserve something good and they have something good going on. I love how they have open communication about their relationship and that trust is built and secrets are dealt with.
Kelsey has the harder fight since there are many darker things for her to overcome plus she has to accept that she is really a submissive at heart. I adored Kelsey. I found her refreshing for one thing. She is resistant to being dominated and likes to take control, but she is not bratty. I'm not a lover of the bratty sub types. She is strong in all the ways that matter and I loved her spirit and compassion even while I was nearly begging for her to open up and let Wyatt into her heart. She has so much to give, but she can't see it for herself. Wyatt is a wonderful Dom in that he brings out the best in Kelsey and instinctively knows what she needs even when she tries to build walls out of her fears. He had to learn a tough lesson and it has stuck with him. He is totally what he is without apology, but he isn't ignorantly arrogant and cruel. That being said, Wyatt is refreshing too because he knows how to say sorry when he screws up. He is intense and savvy, but wily in a playful way. These two can get each other going from zero to sixty so fast and left me smiling (or gasping) at times.
So, I loved my first experience with a Roni Loren book and I'll definitely be going back for more. I recommend this one for those who enjoy moderate BDSM in a gently moving Contemporary Erotic Romance.
My thanks to Net Galley and Penguin for the opportunity to read the book for review purposes.
I really like this BDSM series from Loren, and continue to get more and more excited as each book releases about the characters, past and present.
When we first met Kelsey, she was going through the most horrific ordeal imaginable. Now that she has had a chance to get some therapy and is working at living a healthier life, she is so close to achieving her goals. But when her past catches up with her, Kelsey finds herself on the receiving end of help from none other than Wyatt Austin, the sexy businessman who comes to sit in her section every morning.
Wyatt can’t seem to stay away from Kelsey, so when she gets into a bit of trouble, and he needs help schmoozing for his business, they kill two birds with one stone. Training Kelsey as a submissive is just icing on the cake. But as they become closer friends, Wyatt realizes that Kelsey is the one girl he wants to keep. Only problem is that Kelsey is more scared of commitment than he is, and is going to be hard to catch.
After reading all about Kelsey’s ordeal in book one, I was really worried that she wouldn’t be able to get her life together. But seeing her strong and happy was such a treat. I loved that she had taken control of her life in the only way that she knew how, and that she was trying so hard to control every aspect of her life. The fact that she went the opposite way and became a domme made me smile. And then seeing Wyatt’s reaction to that the first time was hilarious! Watching Kelsey give up that control while dealing with all the emotions from her past was such a special treat.
Although Wyatt goes into their agreement saying and thinking that he wants something temporary, I love the fact that he is the first to admit to himself that he wants to keep Kelsey for the long run. I love romance books where the hero is head over heels for the heroine, and does everything in his power to get her to fall for him as well. Seeing Wyatt use his entire kinky arsenal to get Kelsey to fall in love with him was steamy and oh-so fun!
Loren does such a wonderful job writing BDSM. I love that she balances out the romance with the kink, providing just enough eroticism with the perfect blend of sensual romance. I thought all the scenes between Kelsey and Wyatt were perfect. Wyatt did an amazing job of imprinting new memories for Kelsey to help dull the ones of her captivity. And Kelsey was the perfect fit for Wyatt, strong enough to handle their D/s dynamics and her submission all while retaining her strong sense of self.
I’m extremely anxious to read the next book in the series. Loren does a fabulous job of introducing secondary characters into her stories, and getting the reader excited about the prospect of their happily ever after. I’m anxious to see who Kade will be able to tame, especially since his ideal girl is one he’s struggled to find.
All in all I think Loren continues to be a shining star in the erotica romance genre. Her BDSM scenes are very sexy while remaining sensual and romantic. Her characters are easy to relate to and fall in love with. I love her Alpha heroes and strong women. I am anxious to continue reading more in this series. I give Caught Up in You a B+
Have you ever read a book and immediately thought…Now that is how this storyline is done!…? Well I felt like that during most of CAUGHT UP IN YOU. With the somewhat popular theme lately of having the damsel in distress heroine who comes from the wrong side of the tracks, has had a hard life and not necessarily been a good, stand up girl her whole life. And we have the successful, suited, a bit dark, intense and kinky billionaire that comes to her rescue. A lot about that set up can go wrong for me. Ms. Loren did splendidly! It was fresh, engaging and incredibly sexy!
Wyatt, better known by me as the Asshole Brother, is Jace’s older brother. He’s so career focused and uptight it always seemed like he couldn’t get that stick out of his ass, let loose and be a nice guy. Who would’ve thought in his very methodical life he had also made room for a routinely visit to a diner because he fancied looking at the waitress’ ass? But there he is, trying to work and getting his daily dose of the perky Kelsey when all hell breaks loose and her past comes crashing into her life…and Wyatt’s. And Wyatt swoops in as protector, almost even making it on his white horse. But without losing that intense edge.
I loved that Wyatt is a confident and dominant man, who knows what he wants and the best way to get it. I loved that he doesn’t just jump into her life, a sort of stranger, and expects to take over every detail. I loved that he is a Dom to put other Dom’s to shame, and he’s quite creative. I can’t say you would get bored in the bedroom, or out of, with Wyatt. Be prepared to have a bucket of ice cubes handy to cool you down! It’s lip-biting good!
Then there’s Kelsey. Even though she’s been through so much and again is in danger and down on her luck financially, she’s still independent, a fighter, her chin up and ready to face anything with a smile and tenacity. She has her skeletons in the closet, which Wyatt has to tiptoe around until he can put them to rest, but she’s not new to the lifestyle even though she’s new to the submissive role. Kelsey is actually a Domme at The Ranch and Wyatt has to train her to be a sub. This made for a very interesting dynamic.
I have to admit I have a hard time choosing which one of Ms. Loren’s Doms is my favorite because they are all equally awesome! But let’s just say that Wyatt is now because all his sexy goodness is at the forefront of my memory. And he’s got that tall, dark and intense thing going for him. As always, this just leaves me anxiously awaiting her next book!
Another 4 hot stars! So any book that follows Grant's story in book 3 has alot to live up to, but im going to try and review this without making comparisions. This is the story of Wyatt, Jace's brother who we meet briefly in book 2 and Kelsey who features alittle in book 1. Firstly - Kelsey, well she isnt your ordinary heroine. We know she has been through some harrowing events in book one, but in this book you get further insight into what has happended to her before that, and i have to say, for such a young women she has been through the mill! In her younger years she got in with the wrong crowd, ending up an alcoholic, drug abuser, a stripper, you name it. After the events on book one she gets her shit sorted, goes sober and works several jobs to help save for culinary school. One of those jobs being a domme at The Ranch. But as the oh-so-perceptive Grant acutely observes, whilst she is a good domme to paying customers, she doesnt get any satisfaction from the control like a 'real' dom/me would. And she doesnt really know why...the thought of giving up control (as a sub would) terrifies her......enter Wyatt.
He meets Kelsey as she serves him breakfast every morning at a diner...one of her other jobs. He finds himself mildly obsesses with her, but hides it very well under his 'im not boyfriend material-make no commitments-im too busy with work' persona. Unlike his brother, Wyatt has spent decades under his fathers thumb, working 14 hour days for the company with only a scheduled fling with the occasional women here and there....no complications. However that changes when he has to attend a business function with a date in place of his father. He knows who he wants to take and has trouble finding Kelsey after she goes into hiding from a gang-type group she has made enemies with. Eventually they do make a good 'deal' - her companionship on the business trip in return for him training her to be submission (so she can get a better paid job as trainer at The Ranch.)
So they embark on a rather hot yet sometimes confusing (for their own feelings) journey.....with lots of bratiness and kink.....Wyatt understands her ultimate need to submit, but also obligies her inner domme....no he doesnt submit to her in ANY way, but rather allows a third party to partake sometimes *wink wink* There is a rather hot exhibition-like scene on a boat with a younger man, who is allowed to look but not touch......hhhmmmmm
So in between all of this, both characters discover their true feelings. Kelsey is scared and Wyatt has his work cut out to get his feelings across...but it acculminations to a HEA of course.
An enjoyable book and I cant wait for Kade's story next!
I feel like it's a little unfair for me to review a Roni Loren book because I love all of her books. Caught Up in You is no exception. There are some writers that make weaving a great tale full of drama and sinful ecstasy seem effortless. In my opinion, Roni is one of them.
It's been so long since I read Crash Into You (and frankly I was so excited to read it, I jumped right in and read it in about four hours) that I felt like I needed a little bit of a primer on who is related to whom from previous novels. No worries, there's enough back story to give you the idea that Kelsey is Brynn's sister (from Crash) and Wyatt is Jace's brother (from Melt).
FIRST OF ALL, Wyatt is damn hot. In my personal life, I swoon over a Beta Male but these Alpha Male's that Roni writes are really starting to turn my head. The other attraction that carries into my personal life is my love for the nerd and Wyatt is definitely one HOT nerd. Also vulnerable and flawed with a bit of a secret to hide and a stand to make-- makes for an awesome hero.
I had a bit of a harder time connecting with Kelsey. I felt like she fell into the role of the submissive very easily. Kelsey and Wyatt are both dominants and in my mind, I think I expected much more wrestling-- both for the role of the person in control and within Kelsey, against her nature. Though she did fight it, she piped up with 'sir' awfully quickly. Those submissive behaviors and tendencies started to take over pretty soon, to me. It was something I could let go of, but it niggled. I also found it interesting that instead of becoming a victim, Kelsey harnessed her need to be in control into something she could work with at the ranch. As always I am impressed with the level of detail that goes into revealing how the Ranch works.
More importantly, I was caught up in the trauma of Kelsey navigating life after addiction, sexual assault and abuse. It takes a lot of effort and courage to step out of a past and become whole and reading Kelsey make that transformation was like watching the movie in my head. I've always said, if I'm not practically casting it, I just can't dig it. This would make a great screenplay, I think!
Since I am not into the BDSM lifestyle (I love the love story and read the kink with one eye closed, LOL), I always have to gear myself up, but again, Roni weaves D/s into a beautiful story line that leaves me cheering for both sides. This book didn't seem nearly as kink-filled as the previous.
Or maybe I'm just used to it now.
Caught Up in You is another hit from Roni and as usual, I'm ready for the next release!

OMG!!!! I completely feel in love with this book and its characters. I could not put it down. It was definitely one of the better written books I have read. Kudos to the author and her amazing writing and imagination. Wyatt thought he had everything. He has a successful career and more money than he knew what to do with. He also knew that he did not have the time for a serious relationship. But there was this one woman who made his blood boils in a sexual way. He went out of is way every day to just go to where she worked to see her. He never thought that by helping her out once would change his life forever. Kelsey has tried to blend in. she wants to be unnoticed because of her past. She was completely content with her life being that way. But when a man comes in every day and sits at one of her tables. She got to become attracted to him. When he helped her out one day, she did not think she would see him again after that, but to her surprise he found her. It was a moment that would change her feelings about being along and being in love again. Throughout the book there were revelations of secrets from both Wyatt and Kelsey. But those confessions brought them more understanding of what each other is about. When they went away for his business they got closer. They got so close that you would have to use a crow bar to get them to separate. But neither one of them thought they would develop feelings for the other. And that is what scared them the most. In the end, they both realized that they could not live without the other in their lives. It was a happily ever after ending that both of them deserved. The book was amazing from the very first page. From the way that the characters were put together to their backgrounds. It is definitely one of the best books I have read. I cannot wait until the next one comes out. I completely recommend this book. It is for those readers who like a little kink in their romance.

Oh my but Wyatt sure is dirty and I so freaking love it. I LOVED this book. What can I say, Roni Loren has done it again. Once I started I found it so hard to put down it's that good. Oh and be warned, this book is dirrrty. Might want to watch out if reading in front of someone because you will certainly be blushing like a crazy person, at least I was.
I loved Wyatt. I think what I loved about him most is that he's a normal guy...at least he reminded me of someone that I could actually know in real life. He wasn't an a-hole or crazy possessive, he's just a hard working, intelligent, sexy man that happens to be a dominant. I will say one of the things I liked most about him was the way he took care and treated Kelsey. He respected and appreciated her.
I loved the relationship between Wyatt and Kelsey. You have two people who are super attracted to one another yet neither wants to be in a relationship. Both have had issues in the past and what I liked most was being able to see them both let down their walls and really fall for one another. I really enjoyed the dynamics between these two. The chemistry is off the charts and believe me, these two are so HOT together.
Like I said before, this is another winner from Roni Loren and I definitely can't wait to read more.
So basically Roni Loren is one of my favorite authors ever. Since a friend of mine first recommended her books, I have absolutely fallen in love. Loren is one of those authors whose talent only increases with each book, so a new release from here is always a delightful treat. Caught Up In You comes in a very close second as my favorite Roni Loren novel and I already cannot wait for the next.
I loved that we got to hear Wyatt's story - we get some a brief glimpse of him wherever Jace pops up and he was such an intriguing character. I also loved seeing more of Kelsey after the role she played in Crash Into You.
Gosh, Wyatt is pretty much like the hottest Dom ever - Kelsey totally thinks she can one up him and she had no idea what was coming for her. I loved the game of cat and mouse they play for some of the book.
I just absolutely loved this one - another absolute master piece from Roni Loren and I am not looking forward to the long months until March when I get another book from her. Basically, I have decided I am giving up on writing a legit, full length review and leaving you with one final thought: Read this one - it is absolutely amazing and I love it.
I really enjoyed this next installment in the Loving on the Edge series by Roni Loren -- and I really, REALLY liked that the story had a kind of PRETTY WOMAN feeling to it. I'm a huge fan of that movie, and the story it tells, so seeing it in CAUGHT UP IN YOU was a lot of fun, and added another element of awesome to Roni's already fantastic storytelling. Wyatt and Kelsey could totally have been Richard Gere and Julia Roberts (though Kelsey felt more like a reformed Kit to me, than a Vivian) and I loved how Wyatt never blinked at anything from Kelsey's past, instead recognizing the person she was in the present.
That said, Andre is still forever and always my number one book boyfriend from this series! :)
I usually have a lot to say when it comes to writing my reviews, but I have become stuck for some reason. I guess you can say this is a "reviewers block". LOL. So needless to say that No spoilers will be given to you at this point. So here goes nothing....
I was so excited to read this book. I could not wait to find out about Wyatt and Kelsey's story. I was NOT disappointed!!!
I was completely captivated by the true heat and raw emotion between the love of these two. I love the way Roni can make you completely forget about the world around you when you read her books. This one was just the same. I think I found a new fictional love, I hate to say that I am kicking Reid, Jace and Andre to the curb.
Watch out fictional boyfriend's theirs a new Dom in town.
The cover blurb says it's "Loren's best book to date." I thought, it can't possibly be better than MELT INTO YOU, my favorite of the series, and a RITA finalist. Well. I might have been wrong. This is one steamy, sexy, and wholly decadent book. The hero and heroine play off each other so well, and their internal conflicts may have originated from two completely different arenas, but overlap beautifully. I was so happy when these two got together, and there was none of that miscommunication you might find in other books (i.e., misreading nonverbals because the characters don't TALK to each other). What a satisfying way to spend the morning.
This is my favorite book in the series. What's not to love about Wyatt a once nerdy shy guy who finds his HEA? I thought Kelsey and Wyatt had great chemistry and at the risk of dating myself I loved all the pop culture references!
To anyone who might compare this series to FSOG, Roni Loren knocks it out of the park with her entertaining story telling. This series is up there with Maya Banks, Jaci Burton, Shayla Black to name a few.
Best so far. Could not read this fast enough. Kelsey and Wyatt have played small roles in previous books, but really come into their own here. I had wondered how Loren would bring these two very mismatched characters together, and she pulls it off without a hitch. The relationship sizzles. Perfect chemistry. The minor characters also add depth. Milder BDSM than in previous books. Well done!
Yet another 5 stars for Ms. Loren. I don't think this woman is capable of writing a story worth anything less!
The emotional baggage & struggles of this story were probably the best so far. There was a lot of inner turmoil that had to be overcome in order for an HEA to occur, and Ms. Loren wove it beautifully, bringing about change in perfect little waves.
I've missed The Ranch and Grant in particular. I look forward to reading Caught Up In You just in time for my vacation. Too bad it won't actually be at "The Ranch" with Grant, but I can dream. :) Thanks Roni Loren for always good reading. I love this series and cast of characters.
First read: Dec 2014; 3.5 stars Reread: 29/7/15; close to 4 stars
while Brynn is still my favourite of the LeBreck sisters, Wyatt is definitely my fav of the Austin brothers. and I decided to up my rating to 4 because I love it too much.
Omg....I absolutely loved this book! I loved the banter between Wyatt and Jace! It was so real and natrual. Wyatt and Kelsey were amazing together and he was so intense and yummy! I love when book is great without all the extra drama with outside influences. This is a huge yes for me! Loved Wyatt!
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!! You throw that to us and then stop? We really have to wait until August? Seems like Wyatt maybe more like his brother than Jace realises! Order just gone in at Amazon.
