Undoubtedly the best of the three books, and I would recommend to any wishing to read the series to just skip straight to this one. The first two were dull beyond belief, and while I struggled with parts of this one, the action and twists were pretty good.

Honestly though, considering this author had the lore handed to him, I'm extremely disappointed with the overall series. He didn't have to come up with a lot of the characters or their backstories, and if he did have to make the others, it took him far too long to make them come alive: Two and a half books before I really started to care about these characters.

Get this book secondhand or digital, don't spend the money on a new one.

A fantastic ending to a fantastic trilogy. I want so much more and I'm upset that there aren't any more. Everyone had a great ending. The last 100 pages were a nail biter!

I was deeply impressed with this trilogy. A few nice twisties and a good rollicking adventure overall.

This is the strongest book in the trilogy. It has all the qualities and improvements that its predecessor had in comparison to the first installment of the series, and then steps it up a notch. The concurrent plots merge together and keeps building up until the climax. Oh, and were you fond of the darkness of the previous book? Well, it does get darker.

Divided into 51 chapter plus epilogue (bonus points for readability), this book sets sail from the hooks made by the end of the second novel. As the story builds up from the unresolved conflicts of Betrayal at Falador and Return to Canifis, pieces of known RuneScape lore are woven together, creating a very rich experience for scapers.

The dark tone of the book is not only made present by Morytania and its inherent violence and suffering perpetrated by its various foul creatures, but by the growing conflict of the main characters. The differences between the main characters—made clear by their race, past life, and religious affiliation (based on the three main Gods of the game: Saradomin, Guthix, and Zamorak)—are enhanced like never before, along with the distrust among themselves, which complicates every decision.

The series concludes putting an end to the most pertinent conflicts built up along the series, but leaving room for some continuation, made very clear in the epilogue. It appears that five books were originally planned for the series, and it is unfortunate that these plans were apparently scrapped. Nevertheless, the series improves with each book and concludes beautifully.

I am really enjoying this book. It ties together all of the characters and events from the previous two books. And then leaves you knowing that there will definately be another book in the series.
