One of the few useful books on strength training, written before bodybuilding had been invented or steroids introduced. This text summarizes Calvert's notes from upwards of 20,000 trainees providing an introduction to the classical squat/deadlift/overhead press/pullup system of training with singles, small sets and reps. No super supplements, magic pills or six day/week split systems here.

Along with the works of Boff, Jowett, Zatsiorsky and McRobert, a timeless classic.
