Drawing Mentor 4, What is Sketching and A Brief History of Paper

Rate this book
Anyone can draw; all it takes is a pencil, paper and a little practice. The Drawing Mentor series of books breaks down drawing into simple easy to understand subjects. Each lesson is filled with detailed explanations, examples and exercises. Volume 4 is an overview and introduction to sketching. Sketching is a fundamental skill that must be developed to increase the accuracy of your drawings and the speed at which you complete them. This lesson covers the value of sketching and how to use it as a tool to improve your artistic ability. As a bonus, a short history lesson about paper has been included. It’s not exactly art related but we hope you find it interesting. For those just learning to draw, we recommend starting at the beginning of the series, if you’ve already developed fundamental drawing skills the later lessons with their more advanced step by step projects may be more appropriate. There are currently 16 books in the Drawing Mentor series with subjects ranging from simple lines and 3D shapes, to realistic portrait drawing and dragons. We hope that the lessons, examples and practice exercises in the Drawing Mentor books will give you the foundation you need to be able to draw anything you can see or imagine.
