This book would be much better if the characters NEVER spoke. Once they opened their mouths I couldn't do anything but laugh. The story was ok, if not predictable. The characters were just kinda blah. I felt no connection to them and found I really didn't care what happened just so long as I got to read another conversation. It was the best part of the book in such a bad, bad way. I will openly admit I read this book simply because of all the negative reviews of the dialogue. I am pleased to say it lived up to the reviews in such a perversely enjoyable way.

Overall - 2.5 stars
You can have the werewolf and eat the cheesecake too. This is a BBW paranormal romance with all the usual elements.
Fantasy World - 2 stars
The world is a bit ragged around the edges, and you'll definitely need to suspend disbelief to enjoy the story.
Tingle - 3 stars
A hot, naked man shows up on the doorstep, and wants to get busy. What's not to like? The sheik scene is more odd than hot though.
Characters -3 stars
Full of hot, Alpha werewolf stereotypes. Carole's self-esteem issues become tiresome, and I desperately wanted her to get a clue.

The plot is a well worn path. Nothing new, but it's still fun to take a stroll down it.

“My Wolf King” by Rose Wynters is a fairly standard paranormal romance with familiar elements. It's not going to rock your world, but is more like snuggling into your favorite sweats with a side of cocoa and cookies. You get to visit with hot men who know their mates at once, and a real sized woman who is valued for being more than a twig. It's a bit pricey at $3.99 for 282 pages, but worth the time to read if you can find it on sale.

Favorite Lines “So the player has been played, huh?”

Man Ms. Wynters sure knows how to write a YUMMY YUMMY shifter story!
I always enjoy how her characters are "perfect" they are just like everyone else! Carol Ann is a divorced 30 yr old who is heartbroken and thinking she will live her life alone. Alexander is an Wolf King who has never found his mate. Then one night will looking for some crazy panther shifters he hears a scream. A panther shifter is terrorizing a woman in her cabin.he gets one scent of her and he knows he has found his mate but, when he sees her he instantly knows he has to have her. Fate has given him not only the perfect mate but, also his future Queen! Now if only they can get it right ad not,eta crazy panther shifter ruin it all!
All of this authors stories are hot and this one is OMG yummy! Makes me blush just thinking about what was said in this book and I loved every word!!
I can't wait to read what's next!

first in book series featuring wolf shapeshifters. The main character is their king who comes across a BBW woman being attacked by a panther shapeshifter in her home. He goes in to save her only to find she's his mate.
This is a book/series that I wanted very much to work. An entity of shapeshifters who find mates and have to battle dragons and other shapeshifters to win the love of their chosen and have a HEA.
I mean no disrespect but this totally didn't work in story line implementation, character development, adult content scenes, or believability as a whole. Carole Anne was a TSTL character while Alexander portrayed a moody hormonal 300 year old diva king.
Not a book/series I can in good faith recommend.

I have to agree with Faswop, the dialogue are often laughable, mostly during the sex scenes. I felt like it was coming from a bad porno. As of the story, I like wolf story, but this one has nothing on "with everything that I am" by Kristen Ashley.

Not impressed in the least.
I'm accustomed to the thin plots that so often accompany wolfie books, but this book was 50% sex, 40% whining, 5% fighting, and 5% plot.
The sex scenes repulsed me more than anything, especially the weird threesome. The wolf did nothing but talk about his alpha-stud abilities COUNTLESS times, but ultimately couldn't handle his woman's "heat"? Really? He storms off to hide for two weeks when she wants a simple declaration of physical attraction...? Doesn't sound to alpha to me.
The female is proud to spout that she's a size 18 one minute & is completely comfortable during sex scenes but is so uncomfortable in her own skin otherwise that she spends half the book feeling worthless and running from anything beyond a physical relationship with the alpha. It just didn't make logical sense that someone afraid her size makes her unlovable and undesirable would be that comfortable sticking her bare ass up begging in sex.
Bottom line- whine, bitch, moan, run. Nothing sexy here. Thank jeez it was free:) Pains me to give this a single star, really!

No no no no no. This book led me to believe I would be reading a sueprnatural story about werewolves and other shifters but it was just a dirty book.
He smells her, she's his mate, she sees him nacked and he is huuuuge and then it's all just sex and nothing else.
Plus the dialgues between the characters is so horrible. It's just porn. So no no no no no.

My Wolf King is a sultry mix of romance and action. Carole Ann is our main curvy heroine, she's 31 and recently divorced. Hoping to start life over again, Carole Ann moves out to her great-uncles cabin in the woods. This is where she meets our hero, Alexander. Alexander is the king of the wolves, multimillionaire and serious stud. Alexander and Carole Ann are seriously attracted to each other, might even be some love in there, but past hurts may lead to rocky waters. The bad guys in this book are nasty sadistic panthers and one seriously peeved shewolf!
I enjoyed this book, it kept a great pace, there wasn't any lingering. I thought Carole Ann was a great lead, she was a strong an semi-confident woman that blooms as the book progresses. It's a sweet idea to show woman of all sizes can be loved and give love in return, its the inside that counts. Alexander sometimes felt alphaish but swayed every so often.
I'd recommend this book to anyone that enjoys paranormal romance and of course for people who like a curvier heroine.

A decent start to this series but sometimes it felt like Alexander had more ego and less alpha strength. I felt bad for Carol Anne at first but her low self-esteem became nothing but a non stop pity party that quickly got on my nerves. I'll probably continue the series as I am interested to learn more about Connor and Marrok.

too much sex and not enough plot. the premise was good but the storyline suffered from inattention. I prefer a book where the sex compliments the plot not drives it.

It’s not that this book was bad or anything. The best plot was fine and I appreciate that the author didn’t try to do anything to radically different with the shifter category of romance but acknowledged the “Bigfoot” and “werewolf” origins of this sub-genre that is now filled with all kinds of “shifters” instead of weres obligated to the moon. I enjoyed Carole Ann and Alexander’s love story for the most part, from the rescue, to all the drama and intrigue with the panther shifters and the inheritance from her great uncle etc. This could have been a 3 or 3.5 star book if it was a little bit better edited. The grammar is not the best and the dialogue often gave me the giggles even when it wasn’t meant to be funny. The dialogue didn’t do justice to how good some of the plot climaxes were. I will continue with the series because I do like the plot and characters, I just think a good editor could have transformed this book a lot.

The only down side was that it made me think that the writer is a chauvinist. I even thought that maybe it's was actually male writer instead...
But if you can look over it, you will probably like it.
Its a story of alpha male finding his true mate. Who's a human curvy plus size brunette.
She is also so brave, that it nears stupidy..
But I always will prefer a stupid brave woman than, a crying hopeless weakling one.
They go wild in the sack pretty fast. It's fool of detailed steamy scenes. ^^
Also, I wish that they would communicate better.
I don't like when they sundelly, out of the blue, discover their issues and, solve it out without truly talking about it.
It's too unrealistic to my taste.
oh! and it was approximately a 170 pages on my e-reader. ;)

Book #1 of the Wolf Town Guardians
Carole Anne Boswick is left an isolated cabin by her great-uncle. She moves there after finding her husband of 10 years engaged in acts with his secretary that he never bothered with during the course of their marriage. She's devastated, but divorces him. Then a strange thing tries to break into her cabin, looking for something she has no idea about.
Alexander Petrov is the wolf community's King. He's been hearing tales about Panther shifters attacking humans & he needs to stop it to keep the community safe from discovery. He comes upon a partially shifted Panther trying to break into Carole Anne's cabin & discovers that Carole Anne is his mate.
I usually love shifter books & I really wanted to love this one, but I had a really difficult time connecting with the MCs. Carole Anne is hung up on her "plain" looks, her weight, & keeps referring to herself as "over the hill" and "washed up" when she's only 31. Way too young to be considered over the hill, IMHO. Alexander is cocky, used to getting any woman he wants, refuses to consider how being his mate would change Carole Anne's life.
I really objected to the part with Summer at the spa. Earlier in the story, it was established that the wolves are highly sexual and they often have encounters while searching for their mates before they settle down to monogamy. Then Alexander is degrading Summer for her sexual encounters, calling her a slut, instead of focusing on the real issue of how she's disrespecting him and his Queen.
I found the sex scenes kind of boring & repetitive.
There were a lot of editing & grammar issues which further pulled me out of the story.
However, I did like the world building and wouldn't mind finding out what happens with Marrock & Connor.

just skip the sex scenes. seriously. like most ppl have pointed out, they read like bad porn. the storyline (yes, it does actually have one) was halfway decent (hence the 2stars).
i could've rated it higher, but the menage was utterly unexpected and unnecessary (the seik??!); that was just plain weird, with all the justification thrown in (some poisoning...lol).

uh oh, cheap, high-schoolish showdown with some wolf-girl Summer (end of chapter 9)... i really don't like those tawdry scenes with the OW... and the H denouncing the vamp for being a ho, well, he's a ho himself... i really don't like those shallow, headache-inducing name-calling-fests. :( feeling disappointed... this book was actually turning out not that bad..

My Wolf King ( Wolf Town Guardians #1 ) by Rose Wynters

This book was a great read. This is the first book in the Wolf Town Guardian series, but it can easily be a stand-alone read. All the books in the series follow a similar formula. They all keep a good pace. The characters are well developed and very entertaining. There is romance, plenty of action, mystery, drama and intrigue. In all the books, a Wolf-shifter Guardian finds his mate. The mates are all women with troubled backgrounds, low self esteem and have issues with being fuller figured. But through it all the mated couple find happiness and live happily ever after. I just wish that the language used during the “love scenes” was a little more romantic and loving, instead it feels to me like the dialog is straight out of a porn movie. I loved the steamy imagery, but the dialog made me cringe every time in all 4 of the books. In this book the story follows Alexander and his mate Carole Anne. This book has it all and is a fantastic, enjoyable book to read. I enjoyed this series immensely and I will be looking out for more of this author’s work.

What an amazing story. The first few pages made me want to cry. Amanda was a sweetheart. I really connected with her. All these bad things have happened to her so I was happy when Ryker swooped in and took care of her.
Jimmy was the biggest jerk ever. I wanted to reach through my kindle and punch him in the face especially when he kicked her out the way he did. Not to worry though, Ryker comes to the rescue and she starts staying at his house. I was cheering when Ryker punched him in the face at the bar.
I loved Ryker and Amanda's relationship. Ryker was exactly what Amanda needed. It was obvious how much he loved her. This book also had some good characters. Jean was a hilarious and sweet old lady.

Carole Anne inherits cabin in the rural from her uncle after his death and moved in after her marriage fails. Her life changes when a shifter attacked her in her cabin and unknowingly saved by Alex. When she found Alex wounded and naked outside her cabin, she decided to throw her caution in the wind and go with her needs.
This book is action, fast, hot scene and dreamy shifter thrown in one. I would like to make Alex mine please.

The story was good and flowed plus, the characters were interesting. I mean the story with the characters made the story worth reading. I liked Carol Anne, she was aggressive and a great heroine. I thought her attitude and dealing with the alpha was right on. I could definitely relate to her and the way she handled her ex was phenomenal. Ok, the things I didn't like and the reason it is a 3 star is because of the sex scenes. The language was rough and if they were not mated and in a bar then it would be ok. However, I wasn't feeling the emotional attachment that is supposed to be there when 2 people are in love. I don't think I would tell my lover about his genitals in a crude way if we just made up or my life was in jeopardy. There was no finesse it was crude and vulgar.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review from Goodreads Lop and the author . I love shifter stories and this book is a really hot enjoyable read .Tons of action ,really steamy sex ,danger and drama .I found the characters to be well written and very relate-able . Alexander and Carol Ann aren't perfect they have fears and doubts about each other and themselves that made it even better in my opinion. Definitely recommend this to other shifter lovers out there looking for the next great read.

This was a very fast enjoyable story containing action and some sexy scenes. I liked Alexander and Carole Anne. Carole Anne had absolutely no self confidence and it took her some time to realize that Alexander sincerely cared for her. Connor was an entertaining character and I really enjoyed him. Another of my favorites was Marrok. One of my big questions is 'who is the Sheik'? I hoping to find out in the upcoming books.

Good story. Carole Ann and Alexander were a nice couple, plenty of chemistry in the bedroom but unfortunately it was lacking in other interactions and there weren't many of them. The plot was interesting and a lot different from others I've read which was a pleasant surprise. Would have loved more bonding between Carole Ann and Alexander. Would have liked to know more about Conner and Marrak but I guess that may come in later books.

The dialog... dear merciful God, please make it stop!
Other than that, this author has a great imagination and I really enjoyed the story. Both the MC's occasionally got on my nerves but I still liked them. I'm definitely reading the next book. I seriously hope that she has gotten an editor though as there were dozens of mistakes that need correcting in this book and that is why it is 3 stars instead of 4.
