Reese is Amy's new partner in 'The Company' on the hunt to find rogue Cyborgs. He is also the blonde eye candy that Amy can't keep her eyes off of. The Company doesn't allow dating, but none of that matters because he doesn't even know she exits…At least, that's what Amy thinks…

So Amy and her fellow Hunters have just been captured by the Cyborgs they hunt. They have also just been enlightened that they are not just Cyborg Hunters, but Cyborgs themselves!! There is just one problem…Amy REALLY was born human. What will happen when the Cyborgs realize they have a human in their midsts?


Dante



Dante is the Cyborg medic checking out the new Cyborgs. Only the beautiful woman standing in front of his scanner isn't a Cyborg…She is all human. And his instincts to protect her have just kicked into overdrive…


Cain




Cain was always suspicious of his fellow Hunters. Why did none of them have families or a place to call home? So he isn't too surprised to find out that The Company had Cyborgs hunting Cyborgs. He's now a free man no longer bound by the rules of The Company. And he intends to make Amy his!!

This was a wonderful edition to the Cyberevolution series. Kaitlyn O'Connor's characters have such depth. The range of emotions that they each experience feel so real. The panic that Amy experiences as she feels alone in a world full of Cyborgs was palpable.

Her men are not happy to share Amy, but I love how each man has his own quality time and their own special relationship with her. There are no menages in this book. There are no cookie cuter cyborg relationships either. Every Cyborg personality is varied, but they all have one thing in common. They are totally dedicated to the women they love and they would give their lives to protect her.

This is Sci-Fi erotica done right. There is more storyline and romance then just meaningless sex. These are full of action and fast paced. Sometimes the internal dialogues get to me, but I also love the insight into how each character feels.

This series has been a total joy, and I look forward to more of the Cyberevolution!!!

Amaryllis is NOT a cyborg.
When she is mistaken for a cyborg and she is taken to the ship when all the hunters are saved, firstly she feels scared in case she is found and secondly she feels inferior in comparison to the absolutely perfect cyborgs.

Reese knows what she is and he wants the way she is.
From the first moment I first saw you I knew that only nature could produce something so wonderfully, uniquely beautiful. I knew I shouldn't tear you from your own people, but I could not resist doing so than I could self-terminate. I want you for my life mate. It's why I brought you.

Dante finds out what she is and he doesn't care. He wants her even if his brother saw her first.
I could not stay away...I can think of no logical reason for the things I have done since I met you or the way that I feel.

Cain will be her only friend. He knows that he is a cyborg, but he doesn't like it much. Amaryllis can understand him somehow and he can protect as much as she allows him.
It doesn't make it any easier to bear knowing that most of it was manufactured and never real to begin with.

When there will also an unexpected pregnancy, Amaryllis will be also scared for the baby. Will he/she be perfect?

The book is closely connected with Abiogenesis. The hunters are captured and are guided at the home of cyborgs.

Amaryllis was a bit annoying with all her insecurities and fears, but overall it was a very pleasant book. I am honestly totally hooked on this series.

I loved this book! Kaitlyn O'Connor has become a "Must Read" author of mine. This book has everything I like in it. Strong Heroine, Sexy Heroes and a well thought out plot that was interesting as well as easy to follow. I won't get to much into the plot because Julie did a great job of describing the book, but I will say I am looking forward to the next book in this series:)
If you are offended by strong language or EXPLICT sexual relations this book is NOT for you. Otherwise, if you want an interesting escape into the future, this book will be right up your alley.

Again I was struck by how entertaining I found this one! Though it's erotica (or perhaps romantica is a better description) the author gives us more than just graphic sex. This series is some fun reading and I liked book 2 bit more than the first, although the heroine in this one sorta got on my nerves internalizing and worrying about her "deformities" so much. It was her twin cyborg lovers that saved this one. :P

Just OK...

The premise was good, but it lacked in execution. I kept finding myself losing concentration with some of the long dragging parts. Amy was kind of cold and I didn't really feel any connections between her, Reese, Dante or Cain. The whole pregnancy thing was a real let down.

In addition to gazing longingly at the hunks depicted on the cover, this is a prequel to O'Connor's cyborg nation series. Although I didn't enjoy this one as much as the other two I have read, it was still interesting to get some of the back story on how the whole Hunter/Cyborg competition came about. Ditto on the contract requirements.

Now for those who haven't read this series. IN the future, scientists of 'The Company' perfected the meld of human and machine and created Cyborgs. What they neglected to tell the rest of the world is that they really just wanted an indestructible army at their command. Unfortunately for them, nature hates a vaccuum and the Cyborgs continued to evolve. They eventually turned on their cruel creators and now just want to live and evolve in peace. Unfortunately, The Company is trying to eliminate any evidence of their personal army.

In any event, this is a good series. The issues of courtship and love between multiple partners were handled realistically (it seems to me) and the sex is HOT!!

Reread 2nd read. Love this book! I really like how each heroine is a little different. The cyborgs start to meld in my head but the women are all different. Amy comes to love the guys pretty easily for me, well except for Reese. Him I can understand because of her crush. Still, I really enjoyed this book. I'm planning to do a re-read of the cyborg series.

Original review 06/26/11 Amaryllis is one of the cyborg hunters sent to the supposed cyborg stronghold. It's a trap and she barely survives. When they're told they are cyborgs too, she knows it might be true for everyone else but she knows she wasn't. She has living parents unlikely everyone else and her memories are real. She was a severely disabled child (no arms and no legs) until her parents were able to save enough for her to have them surgically attached, but not until she was in puberty. She grew up being feared and ridiculed. Now she has to try to survive when they find out she's really human. Very good book.

A real good one by Kaitlynn O'Connor. The story here was quite strong. As usual with KO's books the sex while hot is only part of the story. The feelings between the 3 heroes and the heroine are the main part of the story. Strong world building. Plot makes sense. Writing is well done. The romance is strong. I loved the whole thing. The only minor quibble I had was that the epilogue was more tell than show but like I said pretty minor. this is the second or third of this cyborg series I've read. The other two were lighter, more comedic. This one was darker and more angsty. Very good. Not a short story but so good I'd have been happy to have it even longer.

The second book in the series, Cyberevolution by Kaitlin O'Connor. It was a pretty good story. Not my fave story by this author but still held my interest for the entire book. Ms. O'Connor has a way of making me like subject matter that is not in my normal comfort zone.

Cyborg is the second in a series of romantic scifi books about... well, cyborgs trying to escape extermination at the hands of their human makers and colonizing a world for themselves. Due to an error with the way I setup the metadata on my reader, I read this first before any of the other books.

I bought it because it was in the erotica section of feedbooks, and I found myself disappointed. It really belongs in the romance section. Small beautiful female is irresistably drawn to the large gorgeous male who has her in a moral dilemma between what her society expects of her and what her body desires. Unrequitted (for way too long) sexual tension ensues. You know the formula.

There are some sexual situations in the first 23% of the book, but I feel that if this were "erotica" the situations would have been more explicit and "gone farther".

As far as scifi goes, I didn't find it especially interesting. It has pale reflections of the standard post-cyberpunk tropes without anything new to add. The writing wasn't particularly vivid or descriptive, and the characterization was too hackneyed for me to take seriously.

That being said, a lot of people like this series, and they are reasonably priced at fictionwise so if you like romance and scifi, you will probably like these books. I won't be reading the rest of this book nor any others in the series, however.

3.5 stars. The heroine really annoyed me. Many describe her as strong, but I never saw her as a strong woman. She's supposed to have military training, in fact she's a "hunter", but I only saw confused and illogical reactions from her - some understandable under the circumstances, but most not. I was normal to be concerned about the baby's state and health, but she was just too coward and egotistic to acknowledge the baby had a father (or even three fathers, in the emotional sense) and that she had to share her concerns with him/them. At first I sympathized with her, but as the story progressed, I just wanted to slap some sense into her. I honestly don't understand why the guys fell in love with her, other that they realized from the first she was human and desired her more because of it...

The thing is I like a lot any scyfy book i get my hands on. Cyborg are tormented souls and after Laurann Dohner or Eve Langlais cyborgs I crave for more.

But the whole MFMM or whatever the combination is, becomes more porn with a gang bang note than an erotica or a romance book.

I am sure that other readers find enjoyment with this books but I need more substance to a book than sex. If I want that I go and watch a movie.

So, yes, not for me this book and when it's poorly written it gets worse but that doesn't mean that the book will not suit other readers. I will not read any other books from this author because I might mess her ratings and the style is clearly not for me.

Well, this one didn't have what I objected to in the other stories, and it was more different, but somehow... still meh. Maybe it's just the sleep deprivation talking... P.S. I MADE IT FOR 38 HOURS NO SLEEP... well that's not really something to be proud of... I SLEEP NOW!!! WITH EXTREME PREJUDICE!!!

Kind of boring? Interesting set-up, but really just the standard romance between a borderline TSTL heroine and her three alpha cyborg husbands.

So Amy is captured by cyborgs alongside everyone on her spaceship. They are told they are all actually cyborgs and will start a new life on the cyborg homeworld. But Amy knows she is the odd one out - A human.

This was a good cyborg story. My only complaints were that I wasn’t totally sure why her cyborgs loved her so much. I would have enjoyed more sense of them falling for her.

I didn’t like Amy’s repetative inner worrying. I just wanted her to man up and sort it out.

I didn’t like how boring her life became just being at home wearing skimpy clothing. I wanted her to be more proactive.

And I didn’t like her imprisonment at the end. I wanted her to make them suffer in return.

But otherwise it was a good story by a great author.

I decided to read this book because of a review from someone else. Unfortunately I was disappointed. The heroine seemed okay at the start, but she turned into a complete idiot - freaking out and risking herself and others when she could have just spoken to one of the men that loved her. Unfortunately I agree with her - they should’ve found someone else. She was completely annoying.

Started off great with Amy being the only badass human huntress. This story happened along side the previous book but the Dalia and Reuel were only mentioned and didn't made an appearance. I liked Reese, Dante and Cain then the heroine went and had a TSTL moment and ruined it for me. I can't recall reading if her secret ever came out since the ending was so rushed.

I truly enjoy Kaityn O'Connor's Cyberevolution series. The basic plot is that a group of cyborgs engineered to be the perfect army of killing machines suddenly achieve sentience and rebel against the humans given a warrant to kill them all at the behest of the company that created the cyborgs. The company strikes back by creating even better cyborgs, ones who have childhood memories and truly believe themselves to be human, and who are supposed to go out and kill the original cyborgs after which the company will terminate this second cyborg batch with a self-destruct command secretly given to an implant the enhanced cyborgs are unaware of.

In this book, the enhanced cyborgs called "hunters" are captured in a battle trap and their true natures are revealed to them by the other cyborgs. Amaryllis is among the prisoners. But Amaryllis is a unique hunter. She actually is a human but with cybernetic implants to correct human birth defects. She is terrified that her secret will be discovered and she will be killed.

To add to her problems, three different cyborgs--Reese, his twin Dante, and Cain--all begin showing an interest in her as a mate and are territorial with her. As Amaryllis tries to decide what to do without hurting anyone, the fun starts.

This is the story of Amaryllis, one of the hunters that have been taken to the Cyborg World. She harbors a secret that made her think that will make the cyborgs hate her so she usually succumbs to anxiety and depression. Her lovers are really complicated, they are hot then cold. I wish that the story is shorter in content because I'm getting bored with Amaryllis' over-analysis of every situation, from the ship to the arrival on planet cyborg, although the love scenes are hot. If Amaryllis just tell what she feels and what is happening, then the story will end quicker and there will be no other complications. I wish also that there are more action scenes to further make the reader interested rather than the scenes where the characters think and think and think.

God... the cover.... sooo glad the others in this series look better.

I read this a long time ago so I don't really remember, but I think I didn't like it that much. The confusion between the characters didn't make sense to me. These guys are hunters, and therefore are capable of handling emotions way better than the cyborgs from the other books, yet the entire book is just one big frustrated tangle of misunderstandings and miscommunication.

This book was actually the reason I didn't jump into the series. So glad I gave it another try.

Biggest problem for me was the heroine. I didn't much like Amy. As with so many erotic romances, there's a tissue paper plot. Minimal relationship development beyond the sex. Lots of sex. MMMF, usually MF, but one explicit ménage scene. The writing is decent enough, but redundant — too much repetition of Amy's fearful thoughts about her pregnancy and her own childhood deformity. Contents include some violence and some swearing, including profanity.

I was disappointed in this book. It was boring and not a very good story. It is about this soilder woman and comrades who was captured by these cyborgs. One of the man on the ship she was on that is her partner became her lover. Her second lover was one of the cbyborgs who helped her. The story was not very good. I read better.

Overall the book was great except for a few things that bugged me. The female Amy just got on my nerves with the way she handled Cain (her 3rd husband) while carrying on a very active sexual relationhip the other 2 husbands. UM yeah, one would feel left out if you have 3...count them ...THREE husbands but only sleeping with 2 of them! ugh! and the book ending too soon. Rushed.
