The Heavens Declare: Astrological Ages and the Evolution of Consciousness

Rate this book

In The Heavens Declare, Alice O. Howell explains, We are not confronting the end of the world, but the end of the Age of Pisces! Integrating two major disciplines, she reveals the fascinating connection between astrology and Jung's Theory of the Collective Unconscious unfolding through 10,000 years of history in the sequence of previous astronomical Ages. The proof lies in the undeniable synchronicity of religons, and mythologies, supported by the archaeology of each eon. The book also prepares the reader seeking to understand the signs, houses, and aspects.

I loved this book with every single turn of the pages. Her personal point of view through the style of 'letters to a long distant friend' makes it that much more enjoyable. A little bit of wit and English humor here and there lightens the mood of the serious content. Extremely detailed in explaining the differences of history in the basic human nature of influences we do to one another as 'the great clock turns'. Sadly though, she did not go further past Age of Aquarius as I had hoped. Feeling frustrated that she left the book hanging of important information for future peoples of the world, I emailed her publisher. In turn, her publisher sent the email to Alice and I got a reply back. She was enthralled with the fact that a young person of my generation is so excited by such a find to open our minds beyond what we 'think' we see. She said she did not understand with her current mind set what the other Ages could hold. She's is 90 years old now and living in England, widowed. I'm glad I got a chance to contact her personally like this. Her point of view in explaining astrology so well has opened my mind to look deeper into the other Ages to continue her work where she left off. I don't know if I can measure up to her standards as she is much more educated and worldly learned than myself. At least she left plenty of room for future generations to take up the reins of her astounding mind.

Oh, I forgot to mention - I read this book in one month. I usually read very slow, but this just kept me going. I hope to read it a second time. A great book to get someone started on learning about astrology. I knew with my heart when I was a little girl, that someone would write a book just like this and my wish came true. Bless Alice O. Howell for this marvalous piece of work.

Alice O. Howell is a delight to read. In this book she writes about Jungian psychology, religion, the Age of Aquarius and some of the astrological basics. These are letters she wrote to a Jungian analyst friend and have a lot of warmth.
