LAND OF LEGEND...AND DANGERCache Cañon lies well outside Rock City in the Colorado high country. It was named for a legendary cache of gold hidden there, and now it's reputed to harbor a band of hold-out Indians. Although no one in Rock City has ever seen the band, the Terwilliger brothers, who regard the cañon as part of their range lands, are convinced the hold-outs are stealing livestock from them. But even the Terwilligers have something else to worry about when three strangers are seen in the cañon with surveying equipment. Speculation about a new railroad spur runs rampant...until the local blacksmith identifies one of the strangers as wanted for bank robbery in Texas. And when the stage is robbed, the posse runs head on into something nobody could have suspected.

A book that is truly satisfying to read.

This book is wonderful!! Well written, easy reading and full of the flavour of the old West and of great movies. No bells, no whistles just a wonderful story that makes you feel good and want to keep reading.

Would have rated it a 4.4 if possible. Compared to most westerns it is a bit slow developing at its beginning. That is one of the reasons it is such a fine book. By 1/2 way through you really care about the characters, what is going on in the town and where the plot is taking you.

Relaxing reading adventure in the old west Colorado high country. Constable Charley Bent is faced with some dangerous men who are searching for the missing gold in Cache Canon. He starts checking on their background while the folks of the town speculate. The action moves forward with a nice ending.
