High school teacher Dana Dillard has worked hard to make her career dreams come true. But five years after getting her degree, she's still paying off her student loans--and her other ambitions have been put on hold. The most fun she's had lately is watching the reality shows she's hooked on. But all that changes when she sees a new show, Perfect Wedding, which rewards the winner with a luxurious wedding and honeymoon in Hawaii--and Dana decides to go for it. After completing the application, she's set...all she needs now is a fiance! Her colleague Steve Rollings would be happy to fill that role--he's had a wicked crush on smart, determined Dana since the first day they met. Dana considers him more like a brother than boyfriend, much less a fiance. But Steve is just as purposeful as Dana, and he knows she's the only woman for him. Now he just has to convince her he's the groom of her dreams...and prove his passion is the real thing!

Dana Dillard has lived the last few years in a dull, lifeless rut. She repeats the same boring routine day after day – car pools with her best friend and neighbor, Cathy; co-teaches high school students with another friend that could be her brother, Steve; exercises every afternoon in the small make shift gym in the basement of the school; secretly attends a creative writing class; and dreams of traveling to Hawaii at night. That is until the reality show, The Perfect Wedding announces they are searching for next year’s participants.

Dana blows the dust off her keyboard and types the most creative letter about her engagement to Mr. Wonderful and why she should be the bride on the show. It took weeks but she was selected; now she has to find a fiancé. Cathy helps her dig through old phone books, call up lost loves, and think of potential cuties. Times is running out and still no prince charming. Dana has the opportunity of a lifetime in the palm of her hands but she doesn’t have the ring on her finger. What is she going to do?

Perfect Wedding is an extraordinary look into friendship, love and marriage. Wootson writes the ultimate relationship story mixing knee slapping humor, sappy romance, and every girls wedding fantasy in a quick read. The detailed character development with the addition of the storyline that uplifted and motivated the entire community makes this a romantic inspiration for all ages.

Aloha

Dana Dillard has always dreamed of going to Hawaii. It's almost an obsession as Dana eats, sleeps, and thinks Hawaii As a sixth grade teacher saddled with student loans, going to Hawaii is looking more and more like a fantasy. That is until Dana decides to apply for the new reality show The Perfect Wedding which follows a couple through the wedding planning process that they pay for. Included with the perfect wedding is an all expenses paid honeymoon to guess where - HAWAII. This may be the only opportunity that Dana has of making it to her dream destination, except one slight problem - a fiance. Dana doesn't even have a boyfriend. And so she sets out to find a "temporary" groom-to-be to achieve her dreams But has the man of her dreams been under her nose the entire time?

Not one really big on romance, I enjoyed this story. It was a good combination of romance and story, cute and comical without being mushy or sappy. The Perfect Wedding is a good read that I recommend, particularly to romantics.

I did not finish this book. I got half way through what seemed to be a sweet story and then was blindsided by an incredibly inappropriate love scene. I do NOT recommend this book.
