Grey can’t believe what’s happening to him. His own brother has sold him because he got caught stealing from his boss, and the powerful recluse insists that Grey is what he wants…
Caden has wanted Grey ever since he saw the beautiful young man’s picture, and now he’s finally going to get him. He has so many things planned for their first night together…
But when these two men meet, neither finds what he was expecting. And everything changes when they each find out about the other man’s secret…
The fact that it took me several days to read this very short book says it all. The writing was fine, but the story was just boring. I accidentally bought all three books in this series. I would never send them back because that’s not fair to the author. However, I have no plans to read the rest of them anytime soon.
Yes, it is a play on beauty and the beast. . but the author is very upfront abt that. Grey is basically traded to the beast by his brother in exchange for money to save their younger sister who has cancer. Grey is a total closet case but with good reason. ..Caden aka the beast is a gorgeous filthy rich man who happens to be cursed. The story has the plot you would expect it to. However, what I didn't like was how they end up getting together and the progression their relationship takes. Grey basically has an entire personality change and goes from the submissive partner to the Dominant one. These kinds of drastic changes always turn me off. Accepting that you're gay will cause some changes yes but not a full on makeover. The root of the person should remain the same. But the HEA ending was very sweet and all was well in their world.
This one started off really well, looking like it was goign to be a non cons but it disappointed. I hate that the Captor got all soft and not in a good way.. Someone rated this book 1 star for assuming it was non cons, I rated 1 star for not being a tru non cons book and the captor acting like a bitch after he gives head and has the boy reciprocate.
I don't know what to say other than what was the author thinking. The very first scene of the book has one MC raping the other. Not DUBIOUS CONSENT, straight up rape. Caden, who catches Grey's brother stealing from him, uses it as leverage to get his hands on Grey. So you have poor Grey begging his brother not to give him over to Caden, then begging Caden not to force oral sex on him. Repeated pleading, attempts to escape, being hogtied and a o-ring gag forced into his mouth so he can't bite Caden as he threatened, cannot be taken as anything other than NO! No HEA can fix this intial scene.
Cute little story. You should know what you're in for with the summary. This may be an updated version but there was no r*pe, like another reviewer stated.
Grey is kidnapped and delivered to Caden, a mysterious recluse, who has nefarious (and other) designs on Grey. As the story unfolds, Grey learns Caden's secret...and we learn Grey's secret. Later, Caden frees Grey, who has started to fall in love with him.
It's a rather sweet story, but the changes in the characters' thoughts and actions come too quickly and without much explanation. Initially, Caden is brutal to Grey, then suddenly he feels sorry for treating him so badly. Grey is afraid but resolutely straight, then suddenly he's acknowledging his feelings for Caden. Yes it's a novella, but even short stories need to make sense of the characters' actions, and this one doesn't.
So..I would have rated it 2 stars, but I decided on 3 since there's no glaring grammatical or word usage errors....always a plus.
After a very aggressive meeting between Grey and Caden the tone of the book changes. It is a Beauty and the Beast story with a HEA ending. Only a short story so don't expect too much, but worth a look.
