Omg Sage has really outdone herself in this book can I just say WOW love it can't wait for book 2 amazing, buy it .You will not be disappointed you will get hooked the first couple pages ,its hot a real page turner.
They are the bane of everyone's existence. Ashley Ross was a crazy disturbed woman obsessed over making Ivan Quinn hers and keeping him through any means necessary. She's gotten one woman out of his life, now she has to get Stephanie Young out, but she's up against true love. No matter what, she can't make Ivan love her. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. She's about to learn that lesson. The drama in the book is making we want to pull my hair out and slap a beotch. Great story line here. I can't wait to see what happens next.
I really liked this book, I thought it was a great read. There were a few errors, but I would still recommend. My only issue was the end....I hate cliffhangers! This was a really big one. I hope the author releases the second book soon and this does not turn into a Trilogy!
Oh boy, Ashley is beyond delusional. that girl is looooooney. Why can’t men see the warning signs!? Geee louise! Ivan, you work cut out for you and I feel for you Steph, but like you said you are not ok, but you will be. My kind of girl!! I love the way Ms Young had all the characters povs and you kind of have a glance of their personal life. Tara and Bri are a riot and the best friends any girl needs. Mark, turned out to be a decent guy … but you brought it on yourself. Since, I cheated and skipped to book 2 haft way ( don’t judge me 😂Ashley was getting to me… ) and back to finish book 1, … Now, book 3 here i come!
I could not put the kindle down! I read so much that I am sleep deprived! I am glad that I am reading this one and the sequel (back to back) because I would have gone crazy with this cliffhanger at the end! Whew! All I can say that the heifer, Ashley is a piece of work! She is truly "mental"! She cannot accept that Ivan does not love her and does not want her! She went too far to contact his parents to tell them that she was pregnant with Ivan's baby! And, poor Stephanie, I felt for her! Anyway, onward to the sequel and I hope that there is a HEA for Stephanie and Ivan! This is an awesome read!
3.0⭐️ Decent story—however, I detest cliffhangers like this book. It is only AFTER I read the book, do I discover that this is a continuing saga which is told over a series of subsequent books. What is the possible reason why readers are not fully informed upfront about this issue? I guess I should be more enterprising in my research of a book before delving in, yeah?
The plot is engrossing, and the main characters, as well as many of the secondary ones, have very interesting backstories and personalities. The story encompases the lives of three eventual couples: Ivan and Stephanie, Adam and Brianna, Lawrence and Tara. The fact that there are actually a set of three stories is cleverly executed and greatly augments the complexity of the book. The story takes some unpredictable turns which add to its captivation.
That said, however, there are two aspects of the story that drove me crazy. One involves the sexual encounters of each couple. For the most part, they seemed like a cut and paste deal, something that quickly became boring and monotonous. Next, there are enough editing horrors to fill the Atlantic Ocean.
In all, this is a good, well-plotted, fascinating romantic suspense story; however, the less than stellar aspects referenced above, including the undisclosed fact that this book is part of a series, not a stand alone (as some books in a series are) and ends in a cliffhanger, substantially detracts from it. Hence, I feel my rating of 3.0 is extremely generous.
This could have a a great book if the author would have finished the story line. The book started of really good, but the problem the couple faced was just juvenile . Now I have to wait for the next book to see if the issue is resolved, can new authors please write a complete book ? If it is a good book I will buy the next one but this is just silly!
I enjoyed reading it....I was dying to get to the next one because was so worked up with that evil, conniving witch Ashley...I just found the sequel and I was glad she got what was coming to her. Stephanie got her mighty Quinn at the end...I also enjoyed the cast of characters who were great in their own way giving this series depth.
3.5 round up to 4 wow. I enjoyed this book. Some things were predictable but I like the way the author delivered it. I went from hating Mark to liking him to thinking he's over stepping to just accepting he knows he's done wrong and now he's trying to do right by Stephanie.
I really like Stephanie and Ivan from jump and I'm pissed that he let others talking him into some bs. Now everything is messed up. I think Stephanie should have just said what she needed to say over the phone. If she had time to say she missed him, she had time to tell him what was really up. So that is a cop out on her end. I didn't like when she became almost desperate. From the beginning she was the type that didn't take crap, so I really hated seeing her at that low point. I loved the idea of Ivan crying about her. Serves him right
I don't like Ivan's mother, I of course don't like Ashley. Lawrence and Ty and Bri and Adam, loving that quad. When I get book 2 I'm going to devour it. It's pretty hard with book 1 ending where it did and not being able to get closure.
I read the second edition (or revised version) of this book.
Ivan was stupefied by Stephanie. Everything about her mesmerized him. As a confirmed bachelor and playboy, these new feelings confused him.
His deranged ex-lover was determined to destroy his newfound happiness through manipulation, lies, and blackmail.
I had issue with Ivan, a grown ass man, breaking up with the “love of his life” and marrying a woman he despises because his mother told him to. What the ever loving f@ck.
Still a great read. 4.5 Stars.
Side note, I absolutely LOVED the sisterhood between Stephanie and her best friends.
Delusional Love (2nd Edition): The Quinn Family Series Book One
Delusional Love has a sickening storyline. Ivan Quinn has two women, Stephanie Young and Ashley Ross, pregnant. He needs to make a decision regarding his relationship and life choices. Stay with the woman he professes to love or go back to his pregnant ex. Boo-hoo!
This was a pretty good story. She falls for rich asshole, gets dumped by him, then finds out she's pregnant.I tell you after dealing with her baby daddys bs,I ended up rooting for Mark the ex.And I totally understand why she wanted to move, even though her friends were all there.Who wants to see him and that bimbo he was marrying starting a life together?!
I’ve read all three books in this series and have enjoyed them all. After reading the first book I was disappointed that it was a cliffhanger but decided to read the others. This is a new author for me but I will be looking forward to reading more of her books. Loved the series.
I actually loved this book, finished reading it at 6:00 a.m., came down and got on computer trying to locate the conclusion (Defined Love), and couldn't find it. Cliffhangers are absolutely terrible when you can't continue the story. This is a great love story with deception, intrigue, and the start of three relationships. Please help me find the conclusion.
I like the story it was well written and the friendship between Stephanie and her friends was reminder how girlfriends she should be instead of one side of friendship.
Ivan is Stephanie 's boss, there is an immediate attraction. A relationship grows between them but in the background is a nasty reminder that Ivan needs to handle before he can continue his relationship with Stephanie.
This book certainly came with the drama and baby mamas. I absolutely love it! Aside from some typos, I can’t wait to read how the author restores everything full circle.
This situation wore out all my nerves. We can't have this drag out too much longer. I can't stand how the truth takes so long to come out in these books. I know, because that makes the book, but damn, I hate that bitch, Ashley. Oh well, on to the next book.
2 stars: this book needs to be reviewed, and re-edited. So many errors and just wow. I read it quickly to be done with it and realized that part 2 is not available on Amazon....such disappointment 😑
The two lead characters are annoying. Ivan is described as a high acheiving alpha male but was mostly indecisive and whinny. Stephanie was equally bad, making irrational decisions and refusing to put on her big girl panties and communicate with Ivan about her pregnancy and fears.
This book, Delusional Love, is the first of two in this interracial romance series has a bit of drama and suspense. Stephanie works for the CEO playboy who avoids serious relationships. Within a week of meeting they are dating, within three weeks they are declaring their love and she is giving up her virginity (sound familiar?) though she is no 20 yr old but a woman in or nearing her early 30s. Now enters Ashley, Ivan's crazy ex, who is hell bent and determined to end Ivan's relationship with Stephanie. Mark, Stephanie's ex, enters and plans to replace Ivan in Stephanie's life. Plotting ensues.
Book two, Defined Love, is not to be read as a stand alone. It is better than book one because Ashley's plot unfolds in book two. The pacing in both books is slow and I found myself skipping pages.
There is nothing new or interesting in this book though I actually enjoyed Bri and Adam, two supporting characters, more than the main characters. Maybe a book about them is in the works. The is a superficial story with little character development and no romantic build up.
SKIP IT- I don't understand the 4 and 5 star reviews for this book. It was truly awful. The dialogue was stilted and did not flow and you had to guess as to which character was speaking. The plot has been done a million other times by better authors. But by far the worst thing about this book was that at no time did I give a shit about any of the characters. There was zero chemistry. The heroine was an idiot. There were too many distractions with the details of secondary characters, that I had to remind myself of who the main people were. I suffered through both book 1 and 2. I would not suggest this book to anyone.
Some women will do whatever to have a man, and Ashley is no exception. She will do anything to have Mr. Ivan Quinn, and she doesn't mind stepping on Stephanie's toes to get him. By any means necessary! But has her plight to get Ivan come to an end? I have to read the sequel to find out. I've found another Authoress' work to add to my shelf. Sage Young's writing style is flawlessly impeccable! The storyline was extremely amazing, and the character development was so lifelike. I will explore her other novels. Remarkable job!
