明治時代の詩人、小説家である国木田独歩の短篇小説。初出は「国民之友」[1898(明治31)年]。後に「武蔵野」[民友社、1901(明治34)年]に収録される。溝口の旅人宿亀屋に泊まり合わせた無名の文学者田宮弁二郎がこれも無名の画家秋山松之助と自分の部屋で語り合ったことを、一篇の作品に仕立て上げた談話形式の作品。

2.5 I think?
I really liked the descriptions of the innkeeper at the beginning and the ending is so fun to me....conceptually this is pretty interesting too I like the concept of people who we see randomly and stay in our minds, i kind of relate in some ways to Otsu and some of the ideas he mentioned. I would be interested to read more stories from kunikida and see how we go because I liked parts of this a lot.
