Do you crave your holiday romances with a touch of darkness?
Fleeing from haunting memories and regrettable choices, Candy finds herself on a collision course with her past. Her explosive outburst at work results in termination just a week before Christmas, setting off a chain of unfortunate events beyond her control. Desperation grips her as she scrambles to secure employment, fighting to avoid returning to life on the unforgiving streets.
A cryptic advertisement, a mysterious phone call, and a bizarre job interview thrust Candy into a one-night trial at a peculiar new establishment across town. It's the golden opportunity that she needs and she won't let anything or anyone stand in her way.
But as she arrives for her shift, the truth unfolds—Candy Canes, the Christmas-themed bar she envisioned, is no ordinary bar; it's an exclusive underground club led by a man affectionately known as 'Daddy North.' He exudes an irresistible blend of sexy Santa charm and dungeon master allure.
Surviving a single shift might be feasible when North’s attention lands on her. She might even be able to deal with the interests of his friends and colleagues. But can they save her from the dark threats that loom over her, threatening to steal her away like a thief in the night?
Candy Canes is an intoxicating 'why choose' standalone romance, where our heroine's path to happiness includes multiple love interests. This tale is tailored for mature audiences over 18, seeking a Christmas experience with a tantalising twist.
Holy hotness, this book!! I loved every second of this dark, super spicy, why choose, holiday romance. And though it was nice and spicy, the storyline in this book was soo well done! I was on the edge of my seat for most of this book, with twists and turns around the corner Crystal really did an amazing job putting this book together.
I just can't choose which one of the five guys I really liked the most. They all have their own amazing skills and I loved how they all fit together with Candy. The scene in the dungeon was soo freaking hot 🥵
The way Crystal described the places in the club made me wish I could really visit the place.
I can't wait for the next book to come out.
Thank you Crystal North for this amazing ARC to read.
*I received this book as an ARC. This is an honest review based on my opinions alone. Thank you to Crystal North and her team for the ARC opportunity!*
Wow! The sexy, dark, BDSM Christmas book that I did not know that I needed. I finished this book in less than 24 hours because I truly could not get enough of the main characters. I am a sucker for a good "why choose" romance, and this is in the top 10 of that genre that I have read so far. The characters are just delicious. I will admit that the introduction into the BDSM world was not great, but I figured that would be the case based on the trigger warnings. My only complaint about this book is that it was relatively repetitive in some parts (we get it Frost, you hate her but you don't, IYKYK). I also felt that there was good character building for each of the mains, and great buildup to steamy stuff, but there was not a great buildup for the relationship that helped me to understand how we arrived at the epilogue. That being said, I am looking forward to reading Elle's book- that will definitely be an interesting story!

Candy is down on her luck, her ex-boyfriend has cleaned out her apartment completely, and an explosive outburst has seen her lose her job a week out from Christmas. Desperate and stressed, she finds a phone number pinned to a notice board, one phone call and a strange job interview later, and she's got a trial shift. Desperate to avoid ending up back on the streets, Candy vows to smash her trial and prove to them that she belongs at their bar. After arriving, she soon realises that 'bar' is not exactly the right term for what she's walked into. It's an underground club, catering to a particular group of people, completely themed for Christmas and ruled over by a man affectionately known as - Daddy North. After a run in with the Santa of her dreams, she's still adamant that she can survive the club for the season. After catching the attention of his friends, she is still determined, however, a series of events has been unknowingly detonated, and Candy's past is threatening to catch up to her and pounce while her back is turned. Can these powerful and alluring men protect her from the dangers looking to infiltrate her life? After all...maybe it's not the bar that she belongs to...
I was super keen to get to read an early copy of this book! I didn't really read any holiday themed books last year...and come to think of it...I don't think I've ever really read any holiday themed books around the holidays they're based in. So, I was super keen to actually get into the spirit of things this year and dive into some holiday books, and this one, this one right here, I enjoyed it that much that I might have to make it a yearly Christmas tradition to read it!!
I won't lie, I thought that this was a novella...so when the book appeared on my kindle and I saw that it was a behemoth at over 600 pages, I was a tad nervous that two weeks would not be enough time for me to get through it. Who was I kidding?! I could not put it down!!! The story is told through alternating points of view between Candy and the five men that she meets through Candy Canes - North, Don, Dash, Frost & Wint. It's a character driven story that still has a super strong plot and storyline that really grabbed me from the get-go. I loved getting to see how the relationships between Candy and the guys developed and grew and I was kept on the edge of my seat about the underlying mystery surrounding Candy's past. The narration flowed beautifully and kept me enthralled and reading way past my bedtime. The spice in this book is NEXT. LEVEL. I freaking LOVED it! I've always been enamoured with this kind of spice and this book has certainly fanned the flames! North has a way of being able to write incredibly descriptive spice without it sounding awkward or cringey, and I cannot get enough of it!
The characters, oh the characters. I loved all of them. Every single one of them had such unique and distinctive voices and personalities. They are all people that I wish I could be friends with and seem so real in their flaws and quirks, that I wouldn't be surprised to find them standing beside me at a crosswalk. Before I had even started the book, I had my sights set primarily on two of the male characters, but after reading the book my thoughts changed and I had two others that became my favourites. Don't get me wrong, I'll take a large size of all five, but there's always one or two that stand out from the others a little more. In this one it was Wint and Frost. There's something about running through a forest in the dark, dodging men in masks that just really makes me giddy. I loved how Candy's relationship with each of the love interests was so unique and different to the next. It really gave the characters each a chance for their personalities to shine. I also adored Candy. She's such a resilient and strong character, who deep down, doesn't quite realise her own strength, I feel. She'd already been through so much, yet she was determined to keep putting one foot in front of the other, no matter how hard it was. I love a strong female lead, and I love one who I can relate to. Candy's awkwardness in different situations and her clumsiness just really endeared her to me. I also loved Vixen, I loved how supportive she was and how the other women at the club didn't mean that there was going to be cattiness or bullying, it really seemed like such a welcoming place where women just supported each other, and I love that.
All in all, this was a solid holiday read. If you're after a book that will have you turning pages long into the night, that is full of delectable spice and deep characters that will endear themselves to you in a heartbeat; give Candy Canes a go, you won't be disappointed. I've already recommended this book to three different people. One has started reading and is cursing me every day at work because she can't put the book down. Do yourself a favour, go and read it!
*Reverse Harem *Contemporary *Multi-PoV *Tragic past *Dark themes *Seggs club settings *BDSM *kinks galore *established harem (5) *fast burn 🔥 *standlone Different and dirty Christmas read! This story focuses on Candy who hits a rough patch right around Christmas which leaves her in dire circumstances 😖 thankfully she has a brilliant bestie to support her although that brings its own perils with who she’s related too 😮 she manages to find herself a Christmas temp job and bless her slightly naive little socks she sure isn’t aware of what she’s signed up for 🌶️🔥 it may not be a job she wanted but once she learns what it’s all about it’s certainly a job she needs! Especially when her five hunkie bosses are showing her the ropes 😍 Dash is our protective softie, Daddy North is the ultimate alpha, Wint is the more reserved passionate one, Frost is out grumpy guys with a secret side, and Dash is the sweet loveable guy - they’re a great mix and balance each other out 😄 as the story moves through we get insights into Candy’s back story and it sends the guys into ultimate care and protect mode 🥰 things are only made worse after a deep betrayal that questions everything they’ve been building together 😮😮 some good twists throughout to keep you reading! A great naughty and nice standalone!
Loved it! From the first few pages I was hooked! There was drama, a bit of suspense, humor and lots of steam!! I also thought there was a bit of a mystery surrounding Candy's past. I loved Candy. She was one tough cookie. She is smart, resilient and her inner dialog cracked me up at times. Winter, Dash, Don, North and Frost were the men. They were each yummy. The author did a great job making each of them stand out. Seeing the relationships grow between Candy and the guys was great. I loved how they all helped and encouraged Candy to explore her sexuality. The spicy scenes were panty melting at times. I think it was an excellent read! Full of spice, an incredible storyline and the perfect amount of humor and feelings!
Everything about Candy Canes was so freaking amazing! The plot, the characters, the banter, the DEGRADATION, and the spicy scenes! This was **CHEF'S KISS**. Crystal blew the story out of the park with this semi-dark, why choose romance. I absolutely can NOT WAIT for the Elle's book in the series!
I didn’t know I needed this dark romance Christmas read, but damn did I need it. It was a little bit out of my comfort zone but I did enjoy every bit of it. It was a cozy Christmas read with the right amount of tension (spicy and otherwise). I loved that she didn’t have to choose between them (who doesn’t love a why choose) but I have to say my favourite has to be Wint!! I can’t get over the feral, wild but also protective Italian family man!!
It was a spicy read!! But do make sure you check your triggers beforehand incase.
I received this ARC for an honest review, all thoughts/opinions above are my own!
Holy hotness.....if you need a little heat for this holiday season? Look no further than right here, because wow. Candy needs a job to pay the bills and hopefully start the New Year out better. Little did she know what calling one little phone number would do. This book has spice off the charts, a BFF who is absolutely amazing,a couple of ex's that are not, and a little bit of a mystery thrown in to have you going wait what. Plus, a visit from some of my favorite characters that I adore.
Please, please read the triggers they are posted for a reason
Well I don’t even know where to start with that smut filled deliciousness 🖤 it’s taken me a few days to get over which hadn’t really worked and I’m still swooning over all those yummy men 😝 definitely going to be a favourite Christmas time re-read of mine.
If you want spicy with a side of spicy and a sprinkle of more spice then look no further than this very spicy book 🥵🥵 BE WARNED…. You will need several pairs of knickers on standby whilst reading this story.
We meet the fabulous Candy who’s had a pretty 💩 life and just before Christmas a whole lot more 💩 comes her way. Then finding herself in a situation she didn’t think she would. I love how this books flowed and even though it’s full of all that fabulous spice there is still a story going on behind it. Some of which caught me completely off guard to which I then shouted at my kindle 😂
All of the MMC bring something different to the story and I honestly couldn’t pick between them but oh my Daddy North 😉
I can’t wait to read more in that world with other side characters coming in to play 😋
Just another book of this authors that I absolutely loved 🖤
definitely ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ it’s phenomenal! I was completely mesmerised, couldn’t put it down until the very last word. While it is extra spicy 🥵 (like phenomenally spicy) it does have a storyline that I found fascinating. Love the Christmas aspect, the details were perfection - I wish the club was a real location to visit. The relationship journey beautiful to watch and the ending was just amazing. Can’t wait to read Elle’s story next.
If you're looking for a (very) spicy holiday themed read, this is the book for you! We've got one girl, desperate for a job and five guys offering her one... And lots more!
There are some potential triggers, so please check the list before going to see Daddy Santa ;)
Overall, the story is fast paced and verryyy steamy, the characters are great and the story has some nice twists and turns (don't want to spoiler, so I can't say what I liked a lot, but I was happy it happened :D) and keeps you on your toes. It did have some length in the middle for me, but that didn't last long and went from 1 to 180 fairly quickly. I also would have liked some more development in the relationship throughout the story, but it doesn't take away from the story much.
So, if you're in the mood for a naughty holiday standalone with bdsm parts and a whole Christmas list of kinks, you should definitely give this one a go.
WOW! I loved the book, a great Christmas read I didn't know I was missing until it was in my hands. I could have read this whole book in one sitting if I didn't have to work, thats how good it is!
Candy is put through a lot of shit in her life but the hardest hit is when she loses her job and her apartment just a few days before Christmas. Candy's best friend gives her a place to stay and after a lot of job searching she finds (what she thinks) a waitressing job at a bar, this turns out to be a very special kind of club. Candy is now a waitress at a pop up Christmas themed BDSM club owned by five hot af men. These men will show her a new was to experience things and let her explore when she likes and what she does not.
With a lot of twists and turns, spice and feelings this is a great dark RH Christmas story. Please keep in mind to read the trigger warnings for your own safety.
This book was just incredible. And incredibly hot. We have our FMC, Candy a down on her luck young woman who finds herself jobless, broke, and evicted in just a single night.
Candy needs something. So in a desperate attempt, she calls a phone number that is listed looking for help. And things just progress from there. She meets Wint, Dash, Don, Frost and Daddy North. There's some hesitation but let it be known that the chemistry between this girl and these 5 older men are nothing short of scorching hot. Its the tension between Frost and Candy though. I love this book and I cannot wait for Elle's book!
Candy Canes is a standalone, dark, why choose, age-gap, holiday romance with a plethora of steamy times.
Candy has a string of bad luck that leaves her homeless, jobless, and with not a single possession to her name. But, her luck may have changed when she finds an employee wanted ad.
I really enjoyed this book. The story and the characters were fantastic. The writing, flow, and pace are all terrific, as are the character development, relationship development, storytelling, and world building.
If you are looking for a super steamy read with great characters and story, then I’d definitely recommend this book.
I am in LOVE with this Dark holiday romance! Candy our FMC is has been riding the struggle bus hard. First she gets fired from her job to come home to an eviction notice and to top it all off... Her ex has completely stripping her apartment bare. Candy comes across an ad that has all kinds of sketchy vibes but turns our to be a waitressing job as an pop up adult play time club. I don't want to give away the story because this is a serious must read, but I can tell you that the owners of smexy club can't get enough of Candy. This is why choose with some darker elements like kidnapping and a history of trauma. VERY spicy so make sure to keep those towels handy!
Candy Canes was the perfect book to put me in the holiday spirit and my lord it was amazing! I knew it was going to be steamy but this was on fire and I just couldn't put it down. I loved everything about the club and the characters, but oh my was Wint my favorite! From the moment Candy arrived at the house and stepped out of the car, I was hooked. Crystal just has this way of writing incredibly sexy, why choose dark romances that pull you in and have you wishing it never ends. Thank goodness we'll get to read more when Elle's story comes out because I'm going to need my dose of 'For Me' (IYKYK).
If you are looking for a reverse harem dark romance Christmas book, I would for sure recommend this one!
Crystal North writes a positively spicy Christmas themed harem book with this story revolving around Candy, a girl with a hard past and her 5 guys who runs an underground successful BDSM club. There was plenty of drama, spice, and Christmas theme!
This one is pretty lengthy (which I will never complain about 😉) But I will say I wish there were some parts of the story that were explained better. Overall this story drew me and I couldn't get enough of our 5 leading (winter named, which I also loved!) and Candy!
If you think this is sugar and spice all things nice think again....this is smut-tastically dark but oh dear Santa please bring me a daddy north with a touch of frost, a quick dash with a cold wint and a don on top sundae...delish!
I adored Candy's character she was instantly likeable and suffered poor Rudolph being defiled. Her 5 guys were the perfect blend and I thoroughly enjoyed the kinky journey they take.
This is basically a Christmas smut treat for yourself and I fully recommend you indulge in the festivities.
When events in her life force Candy (FMC) to search for a job at Christmas time she ends up working in a naughty Christmas Wonderland of all sorts of kinkiness. One where she's completely out of her element especially with her working with 5 hot bosses - North, Wint, Dash, Frost and Don. Bringing all sort of naughtiness to her job all of which were hot as hell to read!! I absolutely loved this book and all of the main characters in it. I'm so looking forward to getting my hands on my books in this series.
Crystal is a new author to me and I loved every page. It’s nearly Christmas and Candy gets fired from her waitressing job. She needs to find a job quickly. Her ex has taken everything from her flat including her clothes. She is now living with her friend Elle. Candy then finds a job in a club as a waitress. But it’s not what she thinks. She then meets her 5 sexy bosses. Each guy has their own skills 🥵 This book has loads of twists and turns. Loads of kinks, BDSM, reverse harem, dark themes and a tragic past. Can’t wait to read more from Crystal.
Need a little steam this holiday, say no more. Candy has you covered. Not only was the smex ON POINT, but the characters, the actual plot, the interactions, literally everything had me hooked! Definitely looking forward to Elle's book!
3.5 stars, rounded up Good read but you do really have to enjoy the bdsm stuff, because there's a lot. As in chapters upon chapters of single scenes being played out. And honestly, I'm pretty sure after that much intensity, the fmc would need a real break instead of half a night's sleep to not be literally f*cked to death. I ended up skimming through some scenes to get back to the actual plot, which admittedly is thin. So it really isn't a bad book, it's just too much smut and not really my kind.
Devoured this in less than 24 hours. Which is rare for me any more bc life is just too busy hitting me with adulting BS
A good ole why choose. Which is always my fave when it comes to a Crystal North book. She writes her characters in a way that gives each man his own identify. You have no idea how much my ADHD brain appreciates this. Other why choose books have me constantly going back trying to remember who is who and what they did.
I had no idea I needed a spicy, fast paced Christmas story but like all things that are Crystal, she knows exactly what we need.
Favourite Quote: "I wouldn't even kiss you under a general anaesthetic, never mind under f***ing mistletoe"
Okay so after reading this work, all I can say is I'm so glad Crystal North turned this into a full blown novel instead of just a spicy Novella. I really enjoyed the base plot of Candy's life runnnig alongside the spice of the club. The dynamics between all the charcaters were enjoyable and the multi-Pov combined with the relatively short chapters kept my attention. The spice level was great but was combined with genuine information and informed consent around that world (which was a nice change to see). A work to be read all year round!
Now I'm ready for Christmas. Wow , this was everything I didn't know I needed in a book. It was action-packed , full of steam and boy was it HOT. I loved Candy and the guy's so much. This book was incredible and I couldn't put it down. I want to be Candy so much. I also loved seeing some familiar faces and i can't wait for what's to come in this universe. Phenomenal five-star read that I would definitely recommend if you love your books full of steam and K1nk$.
Run! And I mean run to Amazon and get this book today!!!! This will live in my heart forever! Candy and her Merry Men are amazing! While they all got their HEA, I was so sad to say goodbye to them. I was sucked into the world of barely scraping by to working at an “entertainment” club and playing with the bosses!
This is an amazing twist on a holiday season! It has the darkness we all love but still the holly jolly Christmas mixed in! Over the top amazing! I loved candy and her background and how everything was so interconnected and you didn’t even know it until bam! There it is! I also loved seeing a little Holy Trinity cameo! I am also looking forward to Elle’s book! I haven't a clue how it’s going to go down but I know it’s going to be good!
This may or may not be a spoiler so don’t read past this … but you know what I want!? I want a scene where Candy Dominates Frost! Please! I will hand over my soul for that! 🙏🏻
A why chose Christmas story full of sexual tension and just jaw dropping sense. Candy gets the opportunity of a life time just from one call. When she hit hot rock bottom with no other choice but to trust the man giving her an opportunity. Candy finds herself not only working alongside 5 men that make her weak in the knees she gets to experience them 24/7. Who knew making that call late one night out of options would lead Candy to her new life and men.
I don't normally read Christmas books but this book is one of my favorites. Candy gets fired from her waitress job and loses her home because her shitty boyfriend stole her rent money he's a real peach 🙄. So candy stays with her bestie and goes looking for a job when she finds this cryptic job ad and when she calls she's set up for an interview on the spot. She interviews with this handsome guy. She gets a trail run for 3 days she thinks it's a bartending job turns out it's a s3x club. She ends up falling for her 5 hot bosses. If you want a spicy dark Christmas story this book is for you

I was really eager to get started in this. I love that this jumped right into the action, and there wasn't much angst, which is fine. I felt like there wasn't much character build until you hit more into the book. There wasysgery surrounding the relationship and the way it was being built, but I think that was part of the plan and made it more interesting. It got better and better as you delve into the book more. This BDSM RH was amazing. I would really recommend this read.
This was so good. Once I got into this story I couldn't put it down I was hooked. Mercy was this book all kinds of naughtiness the only way to read a BDSM book lol. This arthur is one of my new favorites I found this year and boy did she deliver on the sexiness, drama, heartbreak in one thick af book, but boy was it sure worth it. I absolutely loved these character's, and the way Crystal sucked me into this story had me flipping pages that I couldn't put it down.
