Mia Sams is a thirty-something working mother who has all but given up on love. Her daughter Paige is a wild child and completely out of control. Casen James is very much a boy next door turned handsome math teacher. Left widowed and seriously injured from a run in with a drunk driver Casen doesn't feel as if he has much to live for. If it weren't for his students and family he'd be lost for good.

When fate intervenes and their paths cross, Casen and Mia develop a strong bond, each finally having someone to lean on that understands the other's situation. When tragedy strikes will that bond be enough to hold them together or will it crumble and love prove to be impossible?

Rae Marshall has always had a love for books. When most kids her age were learning to read, she had already finished Charlotte’s web several times over. After years of encouragement from her friends and family Rae finally took the plunge and became a writer.
