Defending his family’s New Mexico ranch against a hostile takeover is the only reason Sam Callahan would even consider getting married. With four of his brothers already happily hitched, the youngest Callahan could end up being the last bachelor standing. Unless Seton McKinley says yes.
Seton came home to Diablo to hang out her P.I. shingle. But the real reason is her unrequited crush on one hunky cowboy. The footloose charmer is proposing they make it legal—in name only! Of course she says no until Sam flashes that infamous Callahan charm. Now the newlyweds are getting ready to become a family of six!
Fatherhood can change a man’s perspective, especially with quadruplets on the way. But nothing—not even the revelation of a shocker of a family secret—is going to change Sam’s feelings for Seton and their three baby girls and boy!

Sam Callahan doesn't want to be the last bachelor in the family, and plus, his Aunt Fiona is more than ready to snatch his beloved ranch away from him if he doesn't get hitched soon. SO when Seton, a pretty Private Investigator, strolls back into town after leaving before, a plan starts to formulate in his mind...
Seton is telling everyone that she's back home to work on her P.I. work. But the truth is, her crush on the handsome, happy Sam Callahan may seem childish, but it's major. Of course, she doesn't actually expect him to offer her a purely business marriage proposal--of course she says no. But when he pleads with her, she agrees, and decides that they'll get divorced as soon as Sam's problems with the family and next door neighbor are over--or so she thinks...
What an adorable American Romance! This book was actually the first Harlequin book I have ever read, but I'm coming back to review it now because I realized I had forgotten about it. I absolutely fell in love with Harlequin, and the American Romance line, through this novel. Sam and Seton have got me rooting for them all the way, especially when their business marriage turns into a pleasure one. And I had the most cozily warm feeling when it turns out that Seton was pregnant with quadruplets! How adorable! I love books about insta-families, with multiple births, and this quenched my thirst.
The plot here is excellent. Sam and Seton have more than one hurdle to jump over when it comes to their marriage--Seton has been poking around Sam's family, trying to discover the truth behind his parents' disappearance, but she doesn't want to Sam to know. But when she does own up to him, he's not too pleased--as she expected.
The characters here were so very real and made for an enjoyable read. The plot kept me reading, had plenty of twists and turns, and had just the right amount of cuteness for an American Romance. Though short, this book packed a punch! A very enjoyable read for anyone who likes a good "cowboy and cradle" romance now and then.
Very good book. Sam was such a happy-go-lucky guy that he saw no harm in entering into a business marriage with Seton -- until the feelings turned real. Then he wanted the marriage to be real, but couldn't figure out how to make it so. Seton had been in love with Sam for a long time, and saw the marriage as a way to get her foot in the door to Sam's heart. Then he and Seton found out they were going to be the parents of four babies and their lives turned upside down. Added to that was Seton's inquiries into what happened to the Callahans' parents, and the secrets it was bringing out. I loved seeing Sam and his slow entry into the idea of becoming a father -- he was really sweet as he got into it all. I am really looking forward to the final book.
I really enjoyed this story. I was really cute and a real page turner. As you read the book you find out that it was love at first sight for both Sam and Seton. It was real interesting to see how their relationship develops from start to end of the book. I liked how Seton, a private investigator, searches for answers to Sam's families past and how she doesn't give up no matter what. I enjoyed how Sam, who at first didn't want any children, grows with each stage in Seton's pregnancy of Quadruplets, then the delivery, and then fatherhood. I thought the story was a real fun read and one I will read again in the future.
Sam and Seton made a deal to have a business like marriage. They hoped to bring her sister and his brother together. That didnt happen. But then things changed.
I have now read five of the six books in this series and I have had it with them! There is too much written space and drama surrounding “the big family secret!” The writer has drawn it out too much for me to even care; I finished this book simply to learn the babies’ names.
Short and sweet, and kind of cute in places. Characters were likeable enough. Free of prolonged, graphic sex, which is nice for a change. Very conventional, but sometimes that's a good thing. The rigid gender roles wasn't my cup of tea, but fairly standard for an American/ranch short romance, and not over-emphasized. It's a quasi-cowboy story, but nothing I would call misogynistic, or even full-blown "alpha-hole" stuff, aside from the icky bit where the hero suggests he might be willing to put up with a baby since the heroine would still look good while pregnant. (Really, yuck.) Mostly it was just... conventional. I will say, though, the book was refreshingly free of "girl on girl" conflict, and the women were generally fine, sensible people - my thanks to the author on that one!
My major complaint is how every character in this book is a passive schmuck; they never *do* anything, as everything just sort of happens *to* them: "Whoops! We sorta got legally married!"... "Whoopsie! Preggo!" Much of their (very low-level) tension occurred simply because they were all so darned inactive! They don't seem to really care about any of it, either way. Everyone is just so terribly laid back, it was rather lulling: "I dunno. You wanna get married?" "Yeah, I guess... Do you wanna?" "Sure, maybe, if you wanna?" "Oh, well, whoops! Somehow, we are." "Well, okay then." Not just the main characters, either; everyone seems basically anesthetized, as if life just sort of unfolds with or without one's participation. It was an odd, meandering feeling, watching people so "meh!" about their own lives.
But, there are worse complaints to be found in romances than drama-less people, I guess, and the book was entertaining enough for what it was.
As a side note, I skipped all bits having to do with the series' "mystery plot", since I'm not going to read the whole series, and only read the character/romance parts, and the book was still readable.
If you really want to read this book I highly recommend that you read the first 4 books in the Callahan series. I found the book to be quite enjoyable although at times I was a little confused as I had not read any of the prior 4 books. Definitely one of the better Harlequin romances that I have read this year. Maybe one day I will find the other books in the series and read them.
Cowboy Sam's Quadruplets is the fifth book in the Callahan Cowboys series written by author Tina Leonard. It's a cute book. The mystery of Rancho Diablo continues.
A very enjoyable story.Has everything you need, mystery, suspense, thrills.Fast moving exciting with all the romance anyone could possibly want.I'm going to read the rest of the series.
