The History of the New Testament Church Volume 1

Rate this book
One of the most profitable studies for the believer, outside of the Bible itself, is the study of the New Testament Church throughout history. Dr. Ruckman approaches the subject as few other authors do: from the standpoint that the Bible (AV 1611) is the absolute standard in all things, even church history. The history of the New Testament Church is therefore defined and outlined according to the doctrinal and prophetic material found in the Pauline Epistles and the book of Revelation.
Volume one describes both true and false Christianity from the Resurrection to the Reformation. It documents the rise of the anti-scriptural Roman Catholic religious system and its persecution of “heretics” who remained loyal to the Bible throughout the Dark Ages. Special attention is paid to the history of the Biblical text as the “constitution for the churches.” Dr. Ruckman also gives his unique perspective on the cause and progress of apostasy in the Body of Christ. This work is one of the most thoroughly researched and documented of all the author’s works.

Peter Sturges Ruckman (November 19, 1921 – April 21, 2016) was an American Independent Baptist pastor and founder of Pensacola Bible Institute in Pensacola, Florida (not to be confused with Pensacola Christian College, also in Pensacola, Florida).

Ruckman was known for his position that the King James Version constituted "advanced revelation" and was the final, preserved word of God for English speakers.
