Anya is on the brink of freedom from her con-man father, until she finds herself pulled back into his world when he forges her name and implicates her in his crimes.

Her only hope for salvation is Leo, a self-made billionaire who left her as her mother lay dying. Anya needs Leo to save her from her father, and Leo needs Anya's name for his business... but as old flames rekindle, he realizes he needs her submission as much as he needs her name.

Will a sham marriage to a man she never stopped loving save Anya or leave her a broken sacrifice to her father's insatiable greed?

Very short intro into a new series. Hope to see more to the back story and understand Leo and his actions better. Anya is strong in so many ways but her love for Leo can make her weak. Interested in seeing more to come

I picked this up because I wanted something quick to read while my son was down for a nap. I didn't realize at the time that it was the start of a serialized series. I kept reading and glancing at the page numbers on my Kindle, thinking "How is this going to resolve itself? I'm almost to the end!" When I got to the last page, I realized I would have to buy two more books to find out what happens next. Oops!

A year ago, Anya's mother died and her boyfriend, Leo, left her. Since then, she's struggled to stay one step ahead of her scheming father in order to keep her younger sister in school and away from his illegal activities. When her father forges her signature on some financial papers, implicating her in his schemes, she feels trapped. Leo, her ex-lover, takes advantage of the situation in order to blackmail Anya into marrying him. Anya, feeling that she has no choice and fearing what will happen to her sister, agrees to marry Leo - but on her own terms. I liked that Anya didn't just roll over and give in to Leo or her father. I think she saw her situation for what it was and sought to get the most she could out of it by demanding a few things for herself - mainly protection for her sister, and a way to keep her father from further ruining the business and the family name.

The beginning of the story is quite a bit stronger than the rest of it. There is more action and reaction, more things going on that further the story. But once Anya leaves her father's house and goes to Leo's, things get a bit bogged down. There are quite a few pages dedicated to meeting her personal assistant and a lot of (in my opinion) useless chatter and noise about clothes, schedules, makeup, charity balls, and such. I understand what the author was trying to do (acquaint Anya and me, the reader, with all the changes that Anya is going to face as Leo's wife), but I feel it wasn't executed very well. I found myself bored because it really slowed down the momentum of the story - and for a read that is only 34 pages long, that's a critical error. Just as things begin to heat up again (wink-wink), the story ends.

Not much is said about Anya and Leo's past relationship, but it seems they did have a very good and satisfying sex life before he left her, one that dominance and submission weren't a part of. I'm not sure if that was because it never came up or if Leo was hiding that part of himself from Anya. But having it come up only as a part of their new relationship - one based on manipulation, blackmail, and lies - makes it seem as if Leo is using it as a form of punishment for Anya's perceived wrong-doing.

If you still want to read it, see if you can get it while it's still free at Amazon and Kobo.

First segment of a serialized novel by an author new to me. Very little BDSM involved at this level but is a story that is tense and somewhat mysterious right from the start. The hero and heroine were individuals who had been in a loving relationship until Leo just left, leaving Anya at a time when her mother was dying from cancer and her father, who she knew was an accomplished con man and professional liar, was taking advantage of her and putting her future in jeopardy. Yet is is Leo who comes to Anya with the rediculous proposition that she marry him as his trophy wife for one year, even though he believes that she has been in league with her father in cheating investors. It is a sad story in many respects but a reader will know Anya's true situation and will hope throughout that Leo, who deep-down still loves Anya, will discover her father's perfidy and realize how unfair he has been in not trusting her. It will definitely be very difficult not to invest in the next segment of the story which was released late in 2013. The final segment will be released in the Spring of 2014. A really well-written story and good read!!

I would have enjoyed this a lot more if it weren't so short. This, to my knowledge, is my first ever serial, and I have to say, I'm not a fan. I do want to know more about the story, but I won't be reading anymore until I get the novel in its entirety. There were some grammatical issues the author should clear up, but character and plot wise, I don't have any complaints at this point.

I was emotionally tied to the main character from the first line. Loved Leo, and can see why she does as well. Like I said, I want to know more, but not like this.

This is the first part of a 3 part series. I first read this as part of a box set back in 12/2013 and it drew me in completely. It ends quite abruptly, and I was desperate to read the rest of the series, hence re-reading it as I've now got the other 2 parts.

I thoroughly enjoyed this first part and it's definitely a promising start to the series.

There were some typos/grammatical errors, which is why it's not a 5 star rating.

really hot read!!! Really loved it but I am so tired of these pieced together books.....Really? another good read but u have to buy the books at 2.99 each and they r only 48-49 pages long??? just not my kind of reading. once again, I don't mind buying BOOKS....but I feel that there are good actual books out there that I would rather buy and read.
I don't expect to get all my books free but I do expect a complete book when I buy it.
these free chapters were great!!!! I will say that.

Short quick, don't know what's really going on with Leo but Anya was a fool to let him think what he did. Steam or not just based off this little portion, she should've had some back bone and stood on she didn't do it. By not doing that she comes off as a gold digger who only wanted to live the good life again. This story actually reminded me of The Tycoon's Revenge by Melody Anne for some reason. Not sure if I'll read the next one but I wouldn't pass it up if I come across it again.

This was just kind of eh. It read like there was another series, and that readers should know what had previously happened to the characters. As far as I know, this was the first series. There were quite a few mistakes, and the sex scenes just fell flat for me. They weren't exciting at all.

I read this in the Alpha's Touch box set. It was one of my favorite stories in the set and eagerly awaited the remaining two installments. Both this book and the box set are well worth the price.

Not for me. Boring, no spice to the characters or the sex.
