Book #2 in Through Time Series Why do second chances have to come with complications? Prince Trevor has one bring the Dark Princes to justice—preferably at the end of his Death Sword—before they can march out of the Dark Realm with an army of monsters at their backs. But complication arise when Trevor is thrown two centuries into the past along with Jazmine Decker, a Fios (a human unaffected by Fae concealment spells) who has more power than either realizes.
For the most part, I enjoyed this book. I may have actually given it a 4 or even possibly a 5 had it been a complete book. There is no ending. The books just stops. This is one of my pet peeves. There is a way to end a book and still intrigue the reader enough to make them want to read the next book. Ending the book in the middle of the action is not the way to do it. A book should have a beginning, a middle and an end. You learn this in grade school but apparently not everyone pays attention to that lesson. Sigh... That being said... I did enjoy the story. I honestly would like to know what happens next but I don't like cheap tactics to get book sales. If it had been a whole book, I would be more likely to buy a book by the author. However, I refuse to buy books by authors that use this tactic. I may read the next book if the library has it but I won't buy it.
I was a little apprehensive about this book because I knew it featured Trevor and I knew it did not have Lana. It broke my heart when she was killed and even though we hardly knew either of the characters it was a horrible loss. I was afraid this book might be too sad and melancholy. A sort of "work through the pain to find some sort of happiness" type tale. Not sure why I was worried. Claudy is one of my favorite authors for a reason. She writes amazing books that never disappoint me.
Ok, so here are some of the things I loved about this book:
*Jazz is smart (marine biologist smart), fun, brave, spunky, and a bit mysterious. I just liked her. If I were to meet her in real life I would want her to be my friend. She is just an awesome character and a perfect edition to the world Claudy has built.
*Trevor is so much more than the fae I thought him to be when I first met him. Watching him develop feelings for Jazz as the book developed, watching him battle his inner demons, watching him interact with the other fae, all of it was just intriguing. Oh and he is hot, so there is that ;).
*Frankie may be my favorite character of her's yet (sorry, Breslyn). I can not say much about why without being spoilery, but Frankie is one to watch.
*This book is a nice blend of romance, adventure and mystery. It also has returning characters from past books and secondary storylines that make it more than your typical romance.
* I could not put it down. I was not even feeling well when I read this, but instead of sleep I made the choice to read until the last word.
*The ending had me so, well I can not say what because it will ruin it for you, but let me just say I emailed the author when I was done and not because I was mad at the ending ;).
It you love paranormal romance with a smidgen of time travel, some heat, and adventure all mixed into a beautiful created world, you probably want to run and get this book. It would probably be best if you read book one first, but you could jump on board with this one and be ok. I personally loved the fact that I have read all the Shee and Time books because I think it added a lot to the story.
Through Time – Whiplash by Claudy Conn Through Time Series Book 2 Prince Trevor of Lugh is the younger brother of Prince Dante. When sent out on a mission, he ends up at the wrong place at the wrong time and is pulled through a portal into 1816, with a human no less. What can he do but give her his protection when he finds that one of the Dark Princes is lurking about as well. He never associated with humans but is finding that this particular beauty isn’t so bad.
Jazmine Decker always thought she belonged in the past until she was transported to 1816 Killarney, Ireland. She was stuck with a rude Royal Fae and a handsome but evil Dark Prince. As a Fios she was always told to beware of the cold-hearted unfeeling Fae, only Trevor doesn’t quite match up with the warnings. Especially with his blood boiling kisses.
Trevor is first introduced in book one, Through Time - Pursuit where he joins forces with Chance LeBlanc. They are out to kill the Dark Prince Pestale who killed Chance’s sister and Trevor’s love. Whiplash is a another adventure with plenty of bad characters to be aware of. The reader meets Jazz and Frankie for the first time and many old friends from the Legend series. The Dark Princes are still working to escape the Dark Realm, to take over both the Human Realm and Faery. This book does leave the reader dangling a bit. Book three should be out later this year. Through Time-Whiplash is the second in the Through Time series. I was a little disappointed Royce and Chance did not make an appearance in this book. That being said, it was a super good book to add to the series. Jazmine Decker is a stubbornly sassy Fios. Trevor, royal prince, is a by the rule book Fae. At first I was worried about these two, wondering how can they ever be together. I should not have worried. Claudy Conn did a fabulous job of mixing the oil and water type personalities until they have a good chemistry. On their journey they get sucked back in time, meet the adorable lass Frankie, go back to the present, then travel to the Dark Realm. The book is nonstop nail biting swooning action. Without giving too much away, I just must say, Please let Frankie somehow be Trev’s and Jaz’s child! They make the cutest little family. The end is a mega cliffhanger! I am anxiously waiting for book 3. I am the type who must know ‘what happens next’, so the cliffhanger is torture! I warn you, you will have many questions at the end of this book.
I have been waiting for this book forever. It is an amazing story. The book picks up where the last one leaves off with Prince Trevor in pursuit of Pestale. This story is fast paced and kept me glued to my Kindle.
Much like the other books in the series, this one was full of action adventure and lots of sexual tension.... oh and some very steamy scenes. I have already ordered the next in the series and will be starting it immediately after this one! Love this series!
I would give this book 7 stars if i could. From start to finish I was hooked and found it impossible to put down. Claudy creates such an enchanting world that you are instantly pulled in. The characters that she creates are incredible and you really feel like you are a part of it all. I am counting down the days until the next book so I can see how the story unfolds. :)
Impatiently waiting for the next installment and suffering withdrawals! Story lines suck you in and don't want to let go. Well formed characters that make you laugh and cry. Don't want to put the books down for ANY reason, including sleep. For anyone who likes all things Fae, these books, The Legend Series and Though Time Series are just the stories you must read!
Book: Through Time- Whiplash Author: Claudy Conn Publication Date: 3/2013 Reviewed by: Tammy - http://booknooknuts.blogspot.com/ My Rating: 5 Stars
REVIEW: Yet another fantastic book by Claudy Conn. What I love about this book is that she brings characters we have come to love from the previous books. In this story we have Trevor who is the youngest Royal Fae Prince and brother to Dante Royal Fae Prince of Lugh. He is sent on a mission by the Queen however it is not the mission he wants . He wants revenge against Pestale he feels that the Dark Royal Prince got off way to easy for his killing of Lana. Enter Jazz Decker who is a very powerful Shee Fios who has now been tossed back in time to 1816. She and Trevor must find a way to A. Get back to the future and B. Stop the Dark Fae Prince Hordly. Hordly has taken Jazz and Trevors tracks them and learns that Hordly has fangs? Not only that Trevor discovers his Fios Jazz has extreme powers. During all of this Trevor discovers he has feelings although he is unsure what those feelings are or mean. He knows he will not allow any harm to come to Jazz Decker and makes a vow on this he also knows he feels something very strong for this Human..Will they escape the past? Tons of Action and of course the Sexual, Emotional Turbulance keeps you glue'd to the book ! Get reading the book and you shall find out !!!!
First I have to say I completely adore the cover of this book. Its a perfect fit.
This book starts off with the Queen and Morgan, a continuation of the last book. I was really looking forward to this book. After what happened to Trevor I was scared.
Trevor is a favorite of mine. He has been since he was first introduced. In each book he has really matured and grown into an amazing Prince. My heart broke for him though and was really wanting him to find happiness.
The humor Claudy adds into her books is so great. She adds the perfect mixer of emotion and humor blending together just right.
They soon realize that Pestile's attempt to get loose failed but his evil brother Hordly was allowed through.
In this book not only do we have the team of good guys fighting to prevent the dark prince's from taking over but we also have another threat attempting to start trouble. Will they find out before it is too late?
While stuck in the past Trevor and Jazz come across a beautiful young girl who is about to get beaten by a man. Jazz saves her and takes her under her wing not realizing that there is something special about the little girl. There is so much more I want to say but I do not want to spoil it for anyone :)
Right before the ending there is another amazing twist that will shock and surprise you... You need to read it to find out! You will not be disappointed
I LOVE Claudy Conn's writing. She has so much to give to her readers. So very vivid, fun and exciting. A definite must read for all fans of the genre.
Action packed, humorous, touching and magical. A journey though time and back again with humans, fae and some other I'll not name so you can be surprised. Nothing it predictable in this story. It's actually packed full of surprises. I cannot wait for the next book to see what is in store for Jazz, Frankie and the gang (yes gang, They're cool like that).
I have enjoyed reading all your different Series. I wish at times I could really all have a man as interested and good as these men seem to be. That's why you wright good books makes you feel like you are there while you are reading.
This is book 2 of a series, and it is definitely not a stand alone novel. The world building must have been done in this first book, because there is none in this book. Conn has written a hot mess of time travel/fantasy with this book, and I’m afraid with the first book as well.
The characters are oddly developed, but their arcs are good. They’re not strong, but they’re good. There are far too many characters she assumes the reader already knows, then introduces more only to whisk them away before they are even marginally developed. Truly annoying.
The plot on the other hand...it’s almost as if she took some short stories she’d written and tried to tie them all together. Conn also borrowed from vampire lore at one point, in bringing a mortal back from the dead. Not quite Twilight, but it would explain why Edward Cullen sparkled.
Three things bothered me the most about this book: a) the voice - I cant put my finger on it but the voice just isn’t right, b) the NSFW bedroom scenes - things that shouldn’t dance were dancing, things meshed that really shouldn’t mesh, and the whole scene could be a contender for the Bad S-x in Literature award (cringe-worthy does not do it justice, but comes close), and c) my old nemesis, phonetically spelling accents, in this case, just one word, nothing else. Seriously annoying.
My suggestion would be to save your money. There are far more time travel romance series that are better written.

Magical faerie beings fighting across time and multiple dimensions
The key female characters start out only partially aware of their fios and fae abilities. As they fight the dark evil ones, they grow in knowledge and ability. They learn that the stereotypes they were taught don’t reflect reality. Jazz and Trevor are strongly attracted to each other, but have battles to fight before they can settle down into a committed relationship. Whiplash is the second book in a series, so the cliffhanger ending encourages buying the rest of the story. Lots of danger and action, with romance to sweeten the pot.
Prince Trevor of Lugh is a Royal Seelie Fae and has been sent on a mission by Queen Aaibhe to search for Dark Prince Hordly an Unseely Royal. While Prince Trevor is searching for the Dark Prince he meets Jazmine (Jaz) Decker who is half-human and a Shee Fios has the ability to see fae that are concealing themselves. Jaz sees Trevor while they are both at the monolith and both of them are swallowed up by the earth and are transported back in time to 1816 Ireland. The Dark Prince Hordly has captured Jaz and Trevor comes to her rescue. I really enjoyed this captivating time travel romance novel.
Fresh plot, new type of beings, lots of action, some romance
Trevor's and Jazzmine's chance meeting seems at first to complicate matters for each of them. The need to work together to survive and to overcome serious challenges becomes the continuous push that keeps them interacting, getting to know each other, and developing a relationship. Their story and that of the Fae realm protecting itself and the human realm from the Dark Unseelies continues in the next book.
Jasmine Decker plans to spend her summer as a tour guide and then start a new job as a marine biologist in the fall. Trevor is a Royal with powers that must protect the earth dimension as well as his home world. Can the two work together or will their differences tear them apart as much as the Dark Lords that are trying to take over the world?
First let me say this is not a full length novel you will have to go find the rest of it on the authors page. But it is very well written has lots of twists and turns that will keep you on your toes as you read it.
A highly enjoyable book on time travel, love, good and evil!
The book was just ok for me. Kind of corny sometimes and main character got to be annoying about half way through. Plus be advised it is a cliff hanger so you must by more of the series.
This is the first book in the series I read. As such, I struggled to keep track of the characters clearly established in book 1. Interesting time travel with Fae, seelie and unseelie struggling for power. I was disappointed that book ended in a cliffhanger for a Jazz and Trevor though.
This story is about a girl who finds out she is part Fae and all she does is swoon over a guy and pout. Story ends with her coming to terms with her powers but it is all far fetched and not at all following what a Faerie is.
The story starts out good but ends in a cliffhanger. I was surprised it was a decent story even though I just bought it because I liked the cover. Just I don't the the huge cliffhanger at the end.
Prince Trevor is sent on a search for the Dark Prince Hordly (brother to Pestale). During his search he encounters a human woman who seems to have the ability to see through his glamour. Jazmine Decker has had the ability to see through a Fae disguise, an ability she has been told to keep secret. The Fae frighten her from stories she has heard all her life. While confronting her, the two are thrown back in time, the year 1816 in Ireland. Although Royal Prince Trevor has no use for “humans” this female intrigues him. This story is filled with adventure. Just when the two become more they are separated. Two different dimensions. This aggravating little woman has changed his thoughts on the human race and he is far from done with her. The battle starts, good vs. evil and the lengths one will go for who they love. This story continues in Through Time – Slamming. Whiplash
