The “Unknown” Reality, Volume One (A Seth Book)

Rate this book
From the Bestselling Author of Seth Speaks

In this mind-stretching journey into the very frontiers of consciousness, Seth reveals the multidimensional nature of the human soul. In Seth Speaks, Seth introduced the concept of “probable realities,” in which our idle daydreams and unfulfilled impulses do take place, in which all possible choices are fully experienced by other portions of the self. Now in this first volume of The “Unknown” Reality, Seth explains the dazzling labyrinths of unseen probabilities involved in any decision, and how our awareness of these can enrich the waking life we know. In a fascinating exploration of the cosmic web of our existence, Seth reveals:

• The purpose of dreams, and how they are often fulfilled unconsciously
• Misconceptions about death and the afterlife
• How different probable realities intersect and influence one another
• The relationship between physical health and inner reality
• A series of exercises to help you discover the unknown portions of your greater identity

The self is multidimensional when it is physically alive. It is a triumph of spiritual and psychological identity, ever choosing from a myriad of probable realities its own clear unassailable focus. When you don’t realize this, then you project upon life after death all of the old misconceptions. . . . The fact is that in life you poise delicately and yet perfectly between realities, and after death you do the same. — Jane Roberts, Speaking for Seth

This channeled material from the entity Seth is mind blowing. This series of books explains the true nature of our existence and most of us are completely unaware of who and what we are. The material is profound and may take time to absorb and comprehend but well worth the effort. If you are searching for answers, knowledge or enlightenment, you should read these books.

The content of these books (Vol 1 & 2) is just as useful as in other Seth books. Just don't expect the read through to be the same. The level of detail far exceeds that of say "The Nature of Personal Reality." As much as I enjoy the Seth material, these two volumes were far more difficult to get into.

You'll need to wade through some of the heavier stuff. But if knowledge is your goal, it's well worth it in the end.

I love the Seth books, I think they’re well written and presented and if you’re looking for spiritual (or any other) guidance on what we’re doing here and what life is all about, the information in the Seth books is the best I’ve found to date. This book was shorter than the other Seth books I’ve read, I understand that the original book ended up bigger than expected and so it has been split into 2 volumes, this is volume 1. Although it was shorter than the other Seth books I’ve read, I thought it worked well as a book in itself and there was plenty in it to keep me busy.

In this book Seth speaks about the importance of each individual and how valuable each person is in their own right, as well as their importance as part of the chain between ancestors and progeny, also as an expression of material achievement and as a group-member of our species and planet. Seth also talks about our other lives and probable lives.

My only complaint about this book is that I felt there were excessive notes by Rob. I understand why they’ve been added but I didn’t enjoy having to keep flicking around the book, and while some were interesting or contained relevant Seth material that was not in this book I think the majority of the notes were unnecessary and often referred to other notes or sections of the book that I had already read.

I thought this Seth book ‘The “Unknown” Reality Volume 1’ was an amazing book which can spark people’s inner enthusiasm to understand more, about life and themselves, what we’re here for, what we’re doing here, and what more we can do; how valuable.

There were some practice elements in the book to help readers tap into their probable lives and through that process unlock parts of themselves that can enrich this life. I really enjoyed those. This book is amazingly valuable to empower people to feel less defeated by what is going on around them, and to help them look inside themselves for the path to expanding their horizons. I found this Seth book particularly helpful in practically working with investigating other probable selves and developing my own life through doing this.

The Seth series is long and complicated. In conversations supposed "channeled" through Jane Roberts, the Seth personality/entity reveals his own take on metaphysical reality. The material really does twist your brain and forces it to consider new ways of looking at the world. Be prepared to throw away all you pre-existing assumptions about life and the universe. I'll tell you now, that the information will take time to absorb and process and that several readings might be in order. But over time, the books seemed to have much validity. My advice is to dive in and glean what you can at any level.

Another interesting 'Seth' read. Some concepts fitted very nicely into my own thoughts and others not so easily, which with our difficulties in moving into different stages of consciousness that the book addresses makes perfect sense!

This was my personal favorite among the Seth books. So many scientists have turned to this book for a better understanding of the world in which they work.

I have read ~6 Jane Roberts books, and this one was the most difficult--I guess I am glad I read it 6th. They started get heavy with cross-referencing other Seth books... so as you get your reality chopped up by Seth's revelations, suddenly it feels as if you are reading six books at once.

This book also somehow upended my curiosity bag, and I watched Jane channel Seth on Youtube. Seth kind of talks like Count Dracula.

The tone of the writing is consistent, this confident and positive voice of infinity. Meanwhile the Rob and Jane parts continue to straddle the line of plausible details... like how Seth often discusses things that Jane is reading or thinking about. Or how Jane is never sure what was said afterward. But Robert's cross-referencing footnotes, in which he calls back details from past sessions: it is a feat of monumental thought-looping.

I didn't follow these rabbit holes. I would probably go read one of the suggested sources (written by them) and a footnote in there would send me back to the book I started on, but farther along than I had read so far. How form-fitting for these discussions that explode the sense of space and time.

These books take the mind strange places--such a fresh wind of thought! But I wouldn't start here for a first perusal.

This is more of Seth speaking. It's denser and duller than the previous books. It's interesting enough, but reading it is really a challenge. There's not much fun here.

A difficult book to read but that doesn't discourage me. Need to go another round with it.
