For the past 15 years, fantasy artist Jasmine Becket-Griffith has captivated a worldwide audience with her imaginative acrylic paintings. Exploring realms of sparkling whimsy and gothic melancholy, her original characters evoke an emotional response with their large luminous eyes. This volume contains a comprehensive compilation of fine colour reproductions of Jasmine s paintings and serves as a true treasure for long-time collectors as well as being a very accessible introduction for new fans. In addition to detailed personal insights from the artist, the artworks are supplemented with the poetry and short stories of Amber Logan and Kachina Glenn - the artist s sisters - illuminating the histories behind some of Jasmine s most beloved characters.
To be fair, I am more of a painter than I am a writer! I have written a couple of contemporary art history books, and collaborated on a lot of other art-related projects. Notably most of my books are those primarily featuring my acrylic paintings, or companion pieces to the popular Oracle Decks I've created with Lucy Cavendish. I live in Celebration, Florida with my husband/assistant Matt and our cats, and spend most of my days painting! To keep up with my artwork, please feel free to check out my Facebook page here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Jasmine... (I post there daily!) My primary gallery is Pop Gallery Orlando at Downtown Disney, so if you are ever at Walt Disney World, definitely stop by!
Really beautiful, but for me it is not a 5* because of splitting the big pictures in two pages in the middle of the book, that spoils completely for me the experience with the bigger images, all bended in the middle of a face or whatever… And I think it is perfectly possible to solve that issue in a better way, as with an extra large page, bended, but not in the middle of the book!
