Submission Island, Book 2
Kyle likes being alone on Submission Island. The only exceptions are the other three Doms with whom he owns the place and the women who pay to play with them. He certainly doesn’t want a whole movie crew filming on his island home. So when bossy Teresa comes to scout the location, he’s not happy about her presence. Even though she is easy on the eyes.
Teresa doesn’t know what to make of Kyle. He’s blunt. He’s an unabashed sexual sadist. He doesn’t know how to compromise. She’s an independent woman who is used to getting her way with men. But curiosity drives her to see what sex with a Dominant is like. She discovers she has more of a taste for his kinky games than she ever expected, and soon she’s aching for his rope, his whips and his kisses.

Well, it was wonderful to visit Submission Island again. What is Submission Island? It’s a lovely tropical retreat for those a little (or a lot) kinky. The fact that this time it was with Kyle? The Master with a sadistic side? That just made it even more fun than my first trip. There was something intense and alluring about the former Australian Special Air Service member from the moment he appeared and I wanted his story—badly. On Location didn't disappoint at all.

Teresa lands on the island not for pleasure but for work. A location scout for Hollywood, she's there to take photos and write notes. See if Submission Island would work for the Odyssey movie she’s scouting for. Which is all well and good until she meets Kyle. Even though its obvious he doesn't want her or her coworker there, Teresa’s still drawn to him. And, for a woman perpetually drawn to the bad boys, Teresa thinks she might just have found the baddest bad boy of all.

Except nothing about Kyle is boyish. He's all man and he is all demands and commands. He wants what he wants and isn't afraid to take it. He likes to give pain as much as pleasure. After retiring from the SAS, Kyle has become a bit of recluse. He never leaves the island, so his sexual conquests are always the submissive women who come for a kinky vacation. And, even though he's attracted to Teresa, he's not sure she can handle him and all his wicked desires.

Teresa and Kyle have fun proving each other wrong… and right. I enjoyed watching them unravel each other sexually and emotionally. Kyle liberates Teresa's inhibitions while she loosens the vise around his heart. She helps him fight the demons left over from war while Kyle enlightens her to the freedom in submission. I liked the balance of super kinky fun and meaningful emotions. And by super kinky fun, I mean it. Kyle and Teresa try it all—riding crops, cat o’ nine tails, canes, ropes, and more. Kyle knows how to wield them all expertly too. *wink*

On Location is a perfect destination romance for those who love a little kink. I’m beyond captivated by the setting and the characters and the way that Miz Yssel explores BDSM. She never takes away from the intensity but it all comes across… fun. Since Miz Yssel granted my last wish and made Kyle’s book next, I think this time I’m wishing for Roger. Bring on the kinky shrink!

A headstrong female clashes with a domineering male seems to be a popular theme. Ms. van Yssel's interpretation of it is arousing and amusing. Teresa's job is a terrific one. She flies to different locations to determine how it can be used in movies. There are people who have jobs just to check out cities, tropical island and exotic locales? Where does one apply for this job?

Teresa's latest assignment takes her to Submission Island. It's a little island in the South Pacific, totally wrong vegetation for the Mediterranean movie she's been tasked to work on. It makes no sense, but she's paid to do the job, not question the director. Submission Island is owned by four Doms. The one in resident, Kyle, is a curmudgeon. He does come across initially as domineering which quickly switches over to dominating. His laconic dialoged and steely glare puts Teresa on the offense. Watching the two of them spar with words and push against each other's misconception is entertaining.

When the whips and chains come out to play, it gets really good. The BDSM resort female guest rooms are a fantasy come true. This is a bit more fanciful than some of Ms. van Yssel's other works. While the exquisite erotic tortures perpetuated by Kyle's experiences hands are to die for, they are more romantically portrayed then her usual realism. It is hawt to read and sexily stimulating. This is the kind of kinky BDSM many readers long for and Ms. van Yssel delivers.

The focus of the story is Teresa and Kyle's relationship. This could be just an erotic BDSM awakening story. Ms. van Yssel adds in a surprisingly believable suspense twist. This strengthens the overall story. Tying in secondary characters who become main characters for a set of four in this series also increases the appeal. While I did not read the first book in this series, after reading this one, it makes me want to go read the first one and eagerly await the rest to be written. Recommended for kinky readers who love romance.

This story hit all my buttons. I'm a sucker for a special forces alpha male Dom with a tender heart. Kyle fit that bill perfectly. Teresa was his perfect match. She was successful, intelligent, strong willed, and just beginning to give herself permission to explore her kinky side, including a bit of pain mixed with her pleasure. Loved it!!!

On Location is the second book in the Submission Island series by Sindra van Yssel. While this book is part of a series, it can be read and enjoyed as a standalone novel. I chose this book because I like the author and I have yet to find a book by her that I did not enjoy.

Kyle has lived on the Island for a while rarely leaving it. He is part owner if the Island, which is nicknamed Submission Island because he is a Dom and so, are the three other part owners. They all play on the Island. Kyle is sexual sadist. He is also a hot and sexy man that was in the military.

Teresa is part of the advance crew that photographs the Island and helps set up shots that could work for certain scenes. She is very curious as to BDSM and what sex with a Dom is like. She comes across as a nice balance of naive and experienced. I also like that she was very honest.

The chemistry between Teresa and Kyle is blistering hot. The sex scenes were hot and spicy. Kyle and Teresa is a great match in and out of the bedroom. They seemed to click in a way that neither expected.

The only thing that would have made this story better would be if it was longer and got more in depth with why Teresa submits to Kyle in the first place. What drives her to learn more about Kyle and his kinks? Overall, this was a wonderful trip to Submission Island. One I hope to repeat in the near future.
