Richard A. Muller (PhD, Duke University) is P. J. Zondervan Professor of Historical Theology at Calvin Theological Seminary in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and the author of numerous books, including The Unaccommodated Calvin and Post-Reformation Reformed Dogmatics. He also edits the Texts and Studies in Reformation and Post-Reformation Thought series.

A technical dictionary it is genuinely worth reading cover to cover.

And, having done it.... I want to do it again.

More can be said but if you want to get a grasp of 17th century protestant theology (i.e. the best of theology) reading this dictionary will give you a massive jump start, it's not perfect but I don't think there's anything else quite like it.

This is a useful book if you know what you're looking for.
Not particularly engaging, reading it is like reading the dictionary... strange how that would be the case.

One of my seminary professors once said "before you buy your groceries this week, buy this book."

Having purchased and well worn my copy, I can tell you there was no hyperbole in his recommendation. Muller with great care, insight, and clarity explains the rich vocabulary of the Christian faith. Muller's Dictionary is a wonderful resource that pastor-scholars will find themselves returning to time and again. Particularly it is an essential resource for anyone engaging in theology proper.

This is a great resource for the Biblical scholar or for the layman alike. It contains many words, though not exhaustive, it is pretty hefty. It has been a great reference personally as I dig into my Biblical studies. I would recommend!
