Psychic Jenny Watkins' world has been turned upside down. Everything she once knew to be fact has come into question, and she is faced with choices that could impact the rest of her life.
As she deals with the crisis in her personal life, she is contacted by a young murder victim who lived in America but spoke no English. Relying solely on timing and intuition, Jenny tries to interpret the clues and find justice for a woman stripped of life too soon.
As she sits by the pool watching her kids splashing around, Becky Durfee is busy under an umbrella writing her Jenny Watkins Mystery series. A statistics teacher by trade, she uses her spare time to explore her more creative side.
She has worked full time, stayed home with kids, gotten married, gotten divorced, gotten re-married, acquired step-kids, juggled a career and a home, been pregnant, puked from morning sickness, given birth, peed from sneezing (directly related to that whole 'birth' thing) and somehow has managed to laugh through it all. Those experiences lend themselves to believable characters and humorous plot lines in her Jenny Watkins Mystery series.

Okay, now I feel like I have an addiction to Jenny Watkins Mysteries...I just read Shattered in a day, and could not put it down. Shattered is Becky Durfee's third book in a series involving a former teacher turned psychic who keeps getting involuntarily contacted by the dead before they "cross over". Jenny is a such a likeable character, and by the third book I feel like I've gotten to know her as a friend. I can't wait to read the next book in the series, Exposed! I recommend this book for anyone who likes a good mystery that is also a "fast read". I found reading these books to be a delightful way to spend snow days!
I was thinking this would be a good book but deleted it at 15%..... I don’t like any profanity but I will not read that kind of profanity! Leave out the profanity and increase your vocabulary!
Another good story. Nice character development and, good story line. More background is learned so there is a better understanding of why the characters act the way they do.
Yet again Becky Durfee has managed to create a fresh and compelling mystery. This time, the spirit that visits Jenny Watkins can talk, and talks quite a lot, but Jenny can’t understand Russian! Going by the few words she can pick up, she once again uses her amateur detective skills to pursue justice for the dead.
While I had a niggling issue with how the protagonist searched for clues in the last book, this time Jenny’s got her head on straight. We also get to see some finality to what Jenny wants out of her marriage (that’s to say, she wants it to end), and it’s great to see Jenny take another step towards becoming the person she wants to be.
We also finally get to meet Jenny’s family, and get some shocking revelations to boot!
Another exciting and enthralling mystery with the most relatable woman in the world. Have I mentioned I love this series?
Quick read. Not as good as the first book, but I love the characters. The one thing that bugged me was Jenny's attitude about another psychic and his abilities. You don't think less of another psychic based on abilities. That did t detract from the story.
Really enjoyed reading about Jenny and her gift. She made several changes in her career but also her personal life. The murderer was a complete surprise and didn't really add up with all The clues
Loved Shattered just as much as the previous two in the series. Great Characters and storylines which would really lend themselves to being a TV series. I am hoping there are many more to come!
While Shattered begins strong with a balance of character and plot development, the intensity and depth don't quite compare to her first two books. A good read with a quiet climax.
