Rate this book
Set in Key West, this new mystery series promises a can’t-put-down story of murder, mayhem, and duplicity. Rick Marlow is a broken former NYPD cop who had been shot by his partner during the discovery of a dead body in an alley. Half-dead and barely recovered Marlow moves south to Key West, figuring the end of the road might mean a new beginning. Then, hired to find a missing heiress by a Key West attorney, Marlow suddenly has purpose once more. The case takes him from Key West to Miami, where big bucks, blackmail and Cuban Intelligence agents all cross his path.

Rick Marlow was a NY cop until his partner shot him and the committed suicide. The things nightmares are made of. He moves down the Key West to get a new start and becomes a PI. If he can keep out of the vodka bottle long enough to get a job. He is hired by a lawyer, who had been a friend of his dad's, to find an heiress of a very expensive painting collection. That was the easy part. The paintings are Cuban and Cuban Nationalists think that the paintings belong in their country. Throw in a crooked lawyer, a bad cop and some rich guys that can send a lot of muscle to solve their problems and you have the makings of a very interesting book.
