I forgot to add this story I finished already. But here it goes. It's an interracial read. Black female white male. I loved the paranormal wolf shifter aspect. The negative of these stories in this series are quite numerous. I'll just give you a couple. The fact that the female lead has to wait till her "heat" to finally loose her cherry. Meanwhile the male lead gets to sow his wild oats with any female mainly human females to asuafe their lusts. The fact that they use woman and the female lead in these stoeries have to be chaste is very redundant. How could werewolves female werwolves at that, have to obey that. Aren't wolves sexual creatures? Both sexes? This story of "princess" going against what's been drilled into her since birth and find her own way, sexually was quite liberating. But the rest. Selling her for what they did. I just couldn't swallow it. I loved the meeting of these two at first. It was sweet. That's it.

Once again I am going to have to go rogue, lol.

Everyone (in the critical reviews) seems to hate Janelle and love Mag. I liked Janelle for the most part. She made a few "serves the plot" decisions but I liked that she slowly began to operate in her own personal agency. I really disliked Mag, however.

He was so one note and while I am sure Taylor meant for him to seem humble/simple, he came off as dumb and wooden. I didn't feel anything but my eyes rolling during his confession and I couldn't make myself root for them.

I think having more of the book written from his POV (Taylor might have been able to make him more sympathetic) and having more actual ROMANCE would have made this a five star read for me. It gets three instead of 2.5 because I loved the three sisters together.

Liked the beginning and ending, but I'm not a fan of the 'misunderstanding' trope; use your words. Mag and Janelle loved each other too much for me to have to endure the nonsense in the middle and then, whiplash, it's all resolved. Also, the 'test' she gave him in the scene with his brother was just no. Sigh. 3 stars

3 1/2 "Perfect Princess" Stars!

Ugh! I'm a little torn on this one. I really liked this story and I really liked Mag and Janelle. The problem was I really didn't like Mag or Janelle! He was a real ass at times and she was the very definition of doormat- most of the time. But... there were circumstances and misunderstandings... and it all played into the story. So I liked it. 🤣 Now I'm off to read the next one. Happy reading!

I really, really liked this one. Almost as much as Chloe's story, and that one was damn near perfect. I loved Mag from the first moment he was introduced to the last line of the book. And even when Janelle was annoying the frag out of me, I understood completely where she was coming from. Living with someone else's expectations of you is something I think many (read: all) Black women have dealt with since the dawn of time. I could relate on a personal level and it made the journey that much better.

This book is the 7th I've read in the series, and firmly cements Theodora Taylor as a one-click author for me. Unfortunately, Rafe's story is next and it's no secret that I despise him. He's a complete arsehole and I really don't want him to be happy. I'm perfectly content to let that jerk be miserable. I *almost* don't want to read the next book because he's the alpha-love, but I can't miss Alisha's story. A smart, no-nonsense, educated, funny Black heroine? Yes, please.

Happy reading!

I liked this one, but parts dragged on a bit, and they could have just communicated a little more and cleared up a lot of confusion.

“’Have you ever slept with an unheated female?’

‘Yeah, I have,’

But then she looked up at him and said, in a hushed voice, ‘Would you, um… would you sleep with me?’

Mag went completely still. He must have heard her wrong. Either that or he’d totally misunderstood what she was asking him.

‘What?’ His voice sounded hoarse even to his own ears.

Her delicate fingers clenched and unclenched around her coca mug. ‘Would you have sex with me? Would you take my virginity tonight?’ Then as if she just remembered her manners she added, ‘Please?’”

My Oh My.

Janelle breaking rules and she asking one of Rafe best friends Mag to do it with her. This rules is one of the big one. A she-wolf is not allow to have intercourse ( aka lose their virginity ) until their heat has started. And Janelle was not going to allow her the man her parents want to marry, to have her virginity, she didn’t like the creep and wanted to be the one to choose who she goes with. And this starts the first of the many rules she breaks. Janelle goes from being the faithful daughter who did everything as command of her by her parents. To the one that I end up loving, and I’m sure you would too.

To be honest I had this book for some time, and I hold off reading it until the last moment, since I wasn’t all that interested in reading about Janelle and Mag. But omg do I regret holding off on this book because it was amazing, and I feel for this couple hard.

While reading about Janelle in her sisters books I did not really care much for her. She sounded like a she-wolf with no back bone and she will do whatever her parents told her to do. I very much disliked her parents while reading about them in the others books, so finding out that she was in agreement with their choices, made me dislike her. But I was very, very, very wrong about her, and things are not exactly as they seem.

I really enjoy how it starts off of how loving and innocent Mag is. He truly wants to love her, and be with her. How is was more than willing to sacrifice his dreams so they can be together, and even though he felt like she really didn’t belong with him. He was going to prove to her that he will love her to the end of the world. But that faithful day when she calls him and tells him that she didn’t want to be with him anymore. He change and becomes a dangerous male, though he proved to everyone just because he came from the wrong side of the track doesn’t mean that he’s dirt. But he also ends up getting the girl who dump him.

When Janelle dump him you can read just how fake it was and how she really didn’t truly feel the way that she told him. You can hear just the way she said it, that she was being force to say those things. I thought that Mag would realize that, but he didn’t because how hurt he was. I’m glad that he ends up killing her jerk of a fiancée, Jeffery and his future Beta, Kyle. They don’t appreciate females and are controlling and rude.

Janelle catches me by surprise, even though she deals with a lot of people taking advantage of her and being really messed up to her, she stands her ground and let it rip. I was surprise by how much she ends up taking until she had enough. I never thought she would find her back bone, and defend herself.

The one main person I would love to have seen her crash with is her mother. Her mother is a real piece of work, actually both of her parents are, but more so her mother. Her mother is truly ungrateful, and I know I said in the following books after this, ( her younger sisters books) that I don’t like her parents. But it’s more so her mother, she is really rude and disrespectful, and I cannot get over that. How can you treat your kids like that, that’s horrible!

Overall I’m glad to say that when Janelle makes it clear to her father that she is going to law school, and there’s not a damn thing he can do about it. It made my day, even when he try to tell his grown daughter ( she 25 years old) that she doesn’t need to go to school, and he wouldn’t lose another daughter to education. She shut him down FINALLY telling him that she can do whatever the hell she pleases, and that if he and her mother keeps disrespecting her husband she will make sure they regret it. And DING. DING. DING Janelle has one all battles from here on out. You go Janelle!

What I would love to read about is Mag older brother Kang, who becomes his Beta. I want to know if he ever gains a mate, this I cannot wait to find out…. Well I hope there’s a book for him.

Book 1 in the Alaskan Princess Trilogies was AMAZING!!!!

I loved Mag and Alisha what had started out so right went so incredibly wrong. For 3 years bitterness and resentment settled in Mag Lonewolf's heart which was really broken.

Look at how words left unspoken has the ability to grow into something that is so untrue but the person is so far gone that they don't even see that it wasn't what they thought it to be.

Mag and Alisha had come along way, I was so angry with Mag I couldn't have punched him silly. But thank goodness things were finally settled at almost his loss.

Happily Ever Afters are what I love and I definitely loved seeing theirs.

Book 2 is up next "Wolf and Prejudice" which is actually the follow up to "Her Viking Wolf" by Author Theodora Taylor.

I'm glad this author made the 'underdog' as the hero. Mag was my kind of guy. He wouldn't let anyone underestimate him. He set his goal and achieved it. Too bad it's for a weak, annoying girl like Jannelle. I. DIDN'T. LIKE. HER. I liked her sister, Alisha though. Boy was she strong. My kind of girl.

This is Janelle and Mag's story. I enjoyed this couple. However, I could not believe how incredible submissive, loyal and obedient Janelle was in the face of all the provocation that Mag gave her. I would have told him to sling his hook ages ago. She hung in there until Mag could reveal what his hang up was.

I loved that the story was fast paced and kept you interested the whole time.

I can’t stand manipulative parents. My parents taught us respect but I’ll be damned if my parents manipulated my adult life.

I pretty much like all the books Ms. Taylor’s put out.

I was loving this book until I knew a wrench would be thrown in. Characters aren't allowed to be happy for long or at all in Theodora's world, so I figured the adorably awkward relationship between Janelle, the Alaskan princess, and Mag a "free wolf" college football player would come to an abrupt end.

Guess you could argue this was the IR werewolf version of Pride and Prejudice, the Jane Bennett edition. That was obvious since the main female's character name is Janelle.

Out of her three sisters, Janelle was the eldest and most biddable. The one most consciously aware of her behavior and how she should be amiable at all times, non-combative, without personality or stain to her reputation. She was the prettiest of her sisters according to everyone around her, and hardly revealed her true feelings, because it would be un-princess like to do so. But one night she decided she wanted to do something for herself and that meant having a one night stand with Mag.

Mag hailed from a pack that didn't fall under the sovereignty of the Alaskan King who just so happened to be Janelle's father. He was technically a prince since his father had been the alpha of their nomadic pack. Nevertheless, Janelle and Mag secretly kept in touch and got together when they could but naturally that was all blown up.

Janelle ended the relationship and from that moment on Mag dedicated his life to getting revenge on her. A huge chunk of the book was spent on Mag treating Janelle like she was a nuisance, a servant, ignoring her, and pretty much leaving her abandoned in his newly acquired kingdom house for seven months. Nothing between them was romantic, not even when Janelle finally went into heat. The ick factor was strong during that scene.

In typical fashion things don't turn around until the last 20% of the book where Janelle finally put her foot down and said enough was enough. She was tired of being a pawn, tired of being mistreated, and it was at that point she and Mag finally aired out their laundry and cleared the air. I could have loved this more if so much time hadn't been spent with Janelle being secretly miserable but covering it up with a gracious smile, and Mag had stopped trying to be a victim to his heartbreak. But I did like how Mag realized that Janelle never got to choose anything for herself outside of choosing to be with him when they first met. Therefore he was wiling to let her go, but finally broke down and admitted that wasn't what he wanted, that he wanted to make their marriage work. Did that erase all the rage-inducing fudgery that came before that scene, no. But was it satisfying that Janelle's suffering was acknowledged and she was left to choose her future, yes.

So far Wolf and Punishment might be the most tolerable of the 50 Loving States series that I sort of enjoyed.

Janelle is Princess of the werewolf royal family in Alaska who is expected to behave a certain way and do as she's told. Mag is from a pack in Alaska that is from the "wrong side of the tracks" who doesn't recognize the royal family nor do they follow theirs' or the rules of the Lupine Council. When Janelle and Mag first meet, he is immediately taken with her and she finds it relieving that he doesn't recognize her for who she is. While she is cautioned to stay away from him and knows that she should, they find themselves talking over hot chocolate. Seeing an opportunity that she might never have again - and knowing that it would be breaking the Lupine Council's rules - she asks if Mag would be willing to take her virginity. Taking the virginity of a she-wolf is illegal though Mag's pack in Alaska never followed that rule or any of the other rules other werewolves live by. Janelle also knows that this is risky as she is pledged to another wolf and there is always a chance that her parents will smell Mag on her. They, however, go through with it. After, they promise to see each other again though they have to hide their budding relationship. Knowing that they are starting to have feelings for each other, Janelle leaves him after one visit stating that she is going to tell her parents about him and tell them she wants to be with him. Kenny, the friend/future beta of the one she is pledged to, has seen them together already, though, and it doesn't take long for word to get back to Alaska. Janelle reaches out to Mag via cell and let's him know that it'll never work out for them, that she is actually pledged to another. Mag, heartbroken, is enraged but lets her go, vowing revenge. Three years later, Janelle is still pledged to Jeffrey but lives day-to-day thinking of Mags. Mags, in the meantime, has gone on to play professional football, never forgetting the woman who made him feel like he wasn't good enough for her or her family. It doesn't come as a surprise when he finally reappears to take his revenge.

I really enjoyed this! I mean, it's by no means a perfect book and there were Lifetime Movie elements here and there, but I think that's why it's so charming. It has just the right amount of spice and just the right amount of drama. There was a good portion of the book where I actually hated Mag for some of the things he was doing or planning on doing which is awesome because I don't get too many opportunities to hate/love a character! I was very interested in the side story between Janelle's sister Alisha and Mag's best friend Rafe. I kinda wish we had a lot more of that story even though this was Janelle and Mag's story. I'm hoping we hear more about Alisha and Rafe somewhere in future installments. A very fun, entertaining, sexy read!

Marvelous

What a great set characters with passion that can burn up the pages because their chemistry is amazing. There is few feisty women who try to be independent that bring a delightful smile. This is a awesome story! There is parts that will bring lots of emotions in your heart. This is the second story that I have found so entertaining. What I have enjoy is the couple POV when they fight and their make up activities is awesome along with their chemistry its call forever and it turns into a love for life. I also really enjoyed the start of their relationship that become a one off for each of them. The secondary characters are such a extraordinary and they give so much pleasure that's because they are written with such imagination that it makes this story full of exciting and humor. This series is such a pleasurable experience that you will certainly enjoy. These stories are so entertaining that they are great reading.

Janelle and Mag

Call me crazy but I was rooting for Janelle and Mag so hard. I really did not care for her parents though. Two scenes through me completely off though. The first being her asking a guy she didn't know to take her v-card. The second being her going into heat and him claiming her on the table. I was like OMG WOW!!!! I had remind myself that the characters were only part human. I understood where Janelle was coming from she was basically bred to be a pretty trophy baby maker. Ummm idk about you but I would rebel too if that's all everyone including my family thought I was worth. Mag was dead set on getting back at her to the point of almost losing her forever. I'm glad they got it together and figured it out. So far I'm in love with Tu and Alisha and I cant wait to read their stories. #reccommend

3 stars.

As a child of immigrant parents, I get the not wanting to disobey your parents and keeping up of the appearances for others. And I didn’t like that Mag couldn’t understand that. It really cemented the point that you never talk to western people about your non-western issues.

Mag gave a very one tone vibe. I didn’t like that he didn’t think to clarify why Janelle was so cold to him all those years ago. Like, he even said that he noticed that her tone was a lot cooler than usual.

And that revenge plot? Not the one. Almost using the fact that she no longer has her virginity as a ploy to ruin was bitterness to the nth degree.

I love Alisha and her unwillingness to stick to the status quo. Tu seems like she could get annoying real quick.

Yeah, liked Janelle 80% of the time and Mag could have grovelled better.

Wowzers

These books are amazing!!! I normally don't read paranormal but these books have roped me in! Janelle and Mag are from.two different worlds. She is a princess and he is from a group that whose names means bad wolf. But he doesn't know he she is when he meets her and she loves " it. They get together a few times and fall in love. But their love is not meant to be. Three years later they meet in what seems like a strange twist of fate but really isn't. This book is a great romance and a great paranormal book. I'm mad at myself for waiting this long to read it get it now!

This is one of my all time fav shifter series.

Start with her viking wolf though- the reading order is confusing.

This of all the books is the weakest and yet it's still brilliant.

The plot n storylines just get better with each book. Truly they are incredible and weave such an amazing line between shifter and time travel that is so believable.

Think this is the 3rd time I've read this series but the first time I've reviewed it.

I've read every single book of TT and I love them all.

Hot af with great mc and finally h leads we can all love and admire.

Just perfection but keep reading cos it only gets better!

Liked the beginning but this book quickly lost my interest after their few nights together.
Parents were disgusting and sold their daughters to the highest bidder. Mag was vindictive and I found it hard to get passed all the things he put Janelle thorough. Janelle was trained to be a slave and not to have an option or to even have any kind of a skill other than to please her husband. Her sisters were the only good characters.
Rafe was introduced in book 1 and he's just a spoiled rich kid that would do anything to get what he wants.

I REALLY like this series! They are cute, fun, short, & sweet. The miscommunication troupe seems to be an on-going theme in the series, & while that’s not usually my favorite- they all end up so happy that I can overlook it.

Also, all these alpha wolves need a lesson on feminism, but I’m not sure if this will apply to all of the books in the series or if it is only applicable to the alpha wolves. We will have to see.

This book made me sick to my stomach. The female was a doormat and treated like dirt for 9/10s of the book. Then when he wanted the jump her during her heat, she gave in right away. The. He’d treat her horrible for months while she quietly persevered and lined for him. Then when he made things right after 9/10 of the book being him treating her like trash, she forgave him right away. It was awful and there was no romance after he changed.

The best set of books I have read

It tells the story of love and hate to findly back to live ,when you think you mate for pressured for the kindtinue of the royal line and not true love that you wish for, only to find it when hope is fine then hang on to it for you won't get the second chance.I would like to say thank you for all your hard work and may fortune smile 😃on you always 😁

I didn't find this book enjoyable, and my heart truly went out to Janelle. A significant portion of the story involved Mag treating her as if she were an inconvenience. There was a noticeable absence of romance, with no meaningful communication or relationship development between them. In fact, they only reconciled toward the end of the book (like 95%), and the "happily ever after" felt like it came out of nowhere.

Emotional…

This book had me going through so many emotions. I enjoyed it because it kept me interested. Mag and Janelle were a sweet couple. It had a wide range of feelings going on. From anger, tears, happiness, sweet and gentle love, passion, and all out piping hot lovemaking, 🔥🔥🔥🔥 I love the transformation of Mag and Janelle. I also like Kang. Thank you for sharing your books.

This was a good second-chance paranormal romance. Mag was interesting, and his way of speaking was interesting. Janelle was a relatable character for me—"appearances are everything." If I had not read other novels in this universe, her mother's behaviors would have been seen as unmotherly. However, knowing Wilma's background, her actions and behaviors were so controlling out of fear. I cannot wait to start Book 2 in this series.

Two Thumbs Up!

Although Janelle was trained in all things princess , why was she so compliant? As if she never once thought to disagree with her parents. Then Jeffery was a little creepy and his leering friend Kenny . The moment when Janelle has had enough of Mag and her parents was a “ yessss” moment about time her backbone matured.
