A Kindle Gripper

I love Melissa Mayberry's writing! I don't recall ever having such a love/hate relationship with a main character. The character, Mel Quinn, is quite complex. I wanted her to find love. I wanted her to find happiness. It was right there within her grasp, then she does everything she possible can to destroy. So I'm screaming at the pages: No, Mel! Don't do it!!! Does she listen? Hell no. But what did occur was I was kept glued to my seat and turning pages to find out what she would do next and how it would all pan out. What a rollercoaster of emotions this book sets in motion.

Arien and Sandy both want Mel. And she wants them. And then she doesn't. And then she wants one of them — no not that one, the other one. And just when I settle in and think, "I can live with that," Mel Quinn hits the 'shit hit the fan' button and it all blows up — until she decides, okay, maybe it is the other one after all. It becomes emotional torment for the reader and makes for an extraordinary story.

Ms. Mayberry uses her superior skill to take a character who one could easy dismiss and say, "Serves you right, wench," but instead has the reader eating out of her hand, willing Mel to come to her senses and stop working toward her own self destruction. I could often feel myself gripping my kindle tighter as the tension increased. She did what an author is supposed to do, and brought the reader into the story. A true talent.
I loved it!

This book was different as in I haven't read this kind of emotional story about a girl still torn between two guys one who betrayed her and one who had loved her from the starting. It talks about how a betrayal can effect a girl and her life. How it effect each relation she gets into. Its about moving on.It was a realistic story about a girl confused about her feelings. There is lies, blackmail, manipulations.

Mellifica is starting her new life with her boyfriend and her life turns upside down when her ex boyfriend who cheated on her with his school teacher. This book is really really good. I loved it from the start. There wasn't one moment you can sit still.Twists and turns, decisions, secrets, doubt who to trust, heartbreaks will keep you on the edge to know what will happen. one chapter is one and the DAMN! the twists!

I love the books which make me feel the their emotions, keeps me hooked. The Girl Mellifica I will admit sometimes I hated her and sometimes I sympathized with her. I could understand what she was going through. Sandy was sweet and perfect boyfriend and my heart broke for him when ever Arien caused any problems between them . Am glad after every fight, trust issues and heartbreaks they have a happy ending.

I would recommend this to everyone who loves a emotional, intense book :)

After reading book #1 (Mellifica: Devastating First Love), I needed more of Mel's story, so I dived right into this, book #2, "Mellifica: Wait For Me".

*Note: I do my reviews without spoilers, so that anyone who hasn't read the story yet can enjoy experiencing it firsthand once they read it ;)

Once again, Mel is put through a lot of emotionally charged events. We're reacquainted with most of the same characters whom we were introduced to in book #1.

I've read a lot of books, and I have to say that these stories touched my heart. For someone who's only 16 years old, Mel goes through so much angst. I was literally brought to tears on more than one occasion while reading this. (But, that's not a bad thing, in my opinion... it proves what a great writer Melissa Mayberry is).

If you haven't read these yet, I recommend this series. Be prepared to be emotionally affected though (and yes, sometimes frustrated with some of the choices made by the characters).

I guarantee you'll get sucked in to their story <3

Melissa Melissa Melissa--

I can't help but shake my head when I read this book. It pulled me once again and left a gaping hole in my heart. Arien ugh-- no words can describe my loathing for this pretentious jerk but what's worse is Melissa's self demise. There are just no words to describe it other than that. I get it honesty--even as an adult I can understand never knowing for sure why? Why did this guy break her? Why didn't he see her value? Why didn't appreciate what he had and fall into other women's arms. What killed me more was her ongoing damage. Her eating disorder, her lack of trust (which is granted), her fears, her spiraling emotions. She was a tornado and was taking around her along for the ride. Just heartbreaking.

Arien: Master manipulator. Sociopath. Stalker.
Sandy: Heart of gold. Loving. Caring.

Once again, this book needs to be read by Young Adults and Parents. It's just one of those books written so profoundly and completely needs to be read by many.

I gave a four star because again-- Cliffhanger. But still great story!!

Once I started this book I couldn't stop, I needed to know how it would end!!! So much happened in the first book and when I started this book I needed answers, I was so happy when she ended up with Sandy that I might have even hugged my kindle!! With Arien coming back into town messes up all that is well in the perfect world of Melissa and Sandy, and I needed to see what kinda mess Melissa would get herself into this time. I PRAYED she wouldn't fall for Arien again and that she wouldn't go back to him. I got to the end of the book and I am looking at the % going NO WAY she can finish this story with such little % left, there must be a book 3 and I hope it comes out SOON!!! I can't wait to get my hands on it and see what Melissa has in store for us next!

I received this book from the author for an honest review. This is the second book in the series. Arien comes back to town and it doesn't take him long to start messing with Mel. He hates that she is with Sandy and will pretty much to do anything to break them up.Mel drives me crazy, I love her character but she bounces back and forth between Sandy and Arien so much. It's no wonder her relationships are in shambles. Yet through all this you find yourself yelling at your kindle to stop Mel from making any more mistakes.
Melissa Mayberry really know how to draw you into the story and make you feel all the emotions that the characters are feeling. Wonderful series for any lovers of young adult romances. Looking forward to the third book.

This is book 2 in the series and I have to say I loved it. It held my attention better than the first one did and I read that one in one sitting, also this one just seemed a little more interesting to me. This girl is just so confused over these guys and one just seems to like messing with her mind to the point she becomes ill. I am so thankful I am not a teenager again and did not have the problems she has had.

This was an enjoyable read that took me away from the everyday reality, and let me forget about anything that was bothering me.

It moved along at a good pace, has interesting characters and a story that will keep you entertained throughout.

Melissa Mayberry is a talented author and I am looking forward to reading more by her in the future.

Mellifica is back to being Mel..back to being Sandy's girl. Everything seems to be going great...until Arien shows back up. And he wants his Mellifica back. Unfortunately, there are a few things Sandy hasn't told Mel about his connection with Arien...

Different.

This book was interesting, sad, scary and a little disturbing. Well written with plenty of teenage drama. I hated the ending....I expected more for Sandy and Mel.
