MacArthur New Testament Commentary Series

Romans 1-8 MacArthur New Testament Commentary (MacArthur New Testament Commentary Series Book 15)

Rate this book
Romans speaks to Christians today just as powerfully as it spoke to believers of the first century. It speaks to moral, intellectual, social, and spiritual issues. But most important of all, it lays the theological foundation for the Christian faith--that holy God has made it possible through Christ for sinners to be made right before Him.Join John MacArthur as he explains each verse in a way that is both doctrinally precise and intensely practical.

Read this while preaching through Romans. MacArthur's work and sermons are required reading any time I want to study a book of the Bible. This work on Romans 1-8 is superb and highly recommended for any Christian.

I got this so that I can studying, digging, eating, and meditate on Romans as I am doing a Personal Bible Study. I had other MacArthur New Testament Commentary and is very please with them. I did order both Romans 1-8 and Romans 9-16 and looking forward to learn a lot from both of them. I will not speed through this. It will take a long time for me to study the Book of Romans. The first 4 days, I studied on Romans 1:1-7, The next 4 days, I studied on Romans 1:8-15. Yesterday, I started on Romans 1:16-17. I think that you get the idea what I am doing. Of course, I am also reading the Study Bible notes and The MacArthur New Testament Commentary to fully understand His Word.

8-12-2013, here I am and just finish reading this. I am now studying my Bible in Romans 8 and almost finish Romans 8. When I get to Romans 9, I will start using The MacArthur NT Commentary Romans 9-16.

I did find number of errors especially scripture references that can be fix.

I have learned a lot from reading this commentary and looking forward to read his other commentary.

It took my husband and I nine months to complete this book and it's only the first eight chapters. I won't attempt to review it but will only say that it is the deepest, richest, detailed and penetrating Bible Study commentary that we have come across. That is subjective, I know, and only gives my opinion.

It is a dense work and you will only get through a few pages at a time if you want to adequately absorb all MarArthur has to say.

These studies are based on his sermons.

MacArthur is always very thorough in his coverage yet very readable. For someone looking for a solid commentary to understand how to interpret Scripture this, and especially Romans, one of the core books for a Christian, reading the commentary in invaluable.

One of the commentaries I had to buy for a class on Romans and Galatians. I was very disappointed because this is a devotional commentary and not a critical commentary in any sense of the word.
