Best known as a co-creator of One Eighteen: Migration, Will is a science and technology enthusiast who one day hopes to fire a railgun at the Moon.

He lives in Chicago with his fiance, a large cat named Tucker, a larger cat named Tesla, and their tiny dog Mr. Pickles.

I'm not a big one for zombie fiction, but this one pulled me in fast and held my interest well. I liked how there is a bigger story going on than just a zombie apocalypse, a story of corruption and even more hidden things involving very human characters. I also liked how it went out on its own on the zombie mythology, but still kept things within limits to both not jar expectations regarding zombies and to not bore the reader with the exact same zombie they've seen a hundred times. This is good and well worth a read.

Overall, I simply adore this book. It's a fantastic zombie/post-apocalyse horror but it's so much richer than that. There's not just the usual threat of the undead, struggle for survival and conflicts between the survivors, there's layer upon layer of 'other' issues looming.

I give it four stars instead of the 5 I imagined I would for a few reasons.
1) Too many questions unanswered at the of the book- I'm fine with a few left dangling, but this one added more and more towards the end and then just- poof- left us wondering about too much entirely. Perhaps there will be a sequel? It's unclear to me at this point but I hope so.
2) The last bit of the book got kind of wonky compared to what had been going on previously. I don't wish to post any type of 'spoiler' and this may seem unclear if you've yet to read it but- while there are bits of the books that are a sort of fantasy offshoot of sorts, the ending is too heavily invested in it.
3) Originally I had complained about too many typos in the book...the author was kind enough to email me and let me know that after a closer look on their end, they realized the incorrect draft had been uploaded in error and it was now correct. I have not re-read it to confirm those pesky errors are gone now, but it sounds like it has been corrected so I strike that comment made previously!

The zombie apocalypse has happened, what happens to the survivors?

118 is the diary of a survivor, Jonas Waight. Jonas documents life after the zombies and the darkness that comes over the world. The true character of people comes to the surface and your darkest nightmares may not be nightmares anymore.

Originally a serial podcast, I remember listening and being scared to the point I refused to listen before bed. I can't wait for the other books in the series to be released.

Quite the interesting read

I found this book to be quite the engaging story. Each character has their own back story as to why they were there and the way they were. Definitely a series I'll be continuing

Zombies have taken over the world, as they often do in books, and we are reading the journal of one teacher who inadvertently got stuck in a small town. We're reading the journal as a government (?) official is, later on. Aparently, reading the journal causes people to become crazy. Also, listening to anything with radio broadcast causes people to become crazy. The whole thing was confusing, and I didn't understand what happened at the end. This is the first in a series, but I doubt I'll continue on with it. I feel that it might be the sort of thing that gets better as the volumes go on, but I'm not sure I want to sit through the first part to find out. There are almost no zombies in this book - the real monsters and bad guys are the humans and the people who have already gone crazy. Most people loved this book more than I did, so give it a try.

I read this book because one of the author's is my daughter's taekwando instructor. It was a fun little book. It's a zombie book with some interesting twists and an unresolved, mysterious ending. The authors left a lot of little breadcrumbs but not enough to completely figure out what's really going on. I look forward to reading the second book and finding out more about what is happening to the main character and where the story will go.

I didn't like this book enough to read the next in the series. Too many tropes and unanswered questions. I liked the character development for Jonas, but the evil in the book was kind of one dimensional. Plenty of tension throughout, though.
