Searching for his missing book, Gray Rabbit decides that the only way to find it among the many things that fill his messy room is to clean up. For children under three.
From our permanent collection of Children's Books that were always out. And this may have been the first of our Rabbit books - it is personalized. I'm a sucker for Calculatus Eliminatus (which by my memory was from the Cat in the Hat cartoon and was not in the book). The text is a bit repetitive, but only a hair. And the art makes up for it. And of course it is to search for a book, and not just any book, but this one.
I was sorting through book donations today and found this book in Spanish, and something inside of me bursted because this was one of my favorite books when I was small! I had completely forgotten about it and seeing it again made me so happy! It's one of those nostalgic books I didnt realize I was looking for, but it came anyways.
Kind of dated in appearance, so I think it will be passed over, but I do like the interactive component of asking the kids what doesn't belong on each page. I may give it a try in a future storytime.
This is one rabbit book we did not have until recently. And oh my goodness, when the older grandson found out - he's six - he was like, WHY did we not have this book til NOW?
In this book, Rabbit sorts items and on each page the reader has to decide which object 'doesn't belong.' This is a sort of traditional activity done with all young children, but to see rabbit - our beloved rabbit, the gray one - doing this was fun for both boys, especially the two-year old.
As I've said in four previous 'rabbit' reviews, we love these books at our house. They are the first ones pulled off the shelf when they want me to read to them, which is always. (Goodness, boys, go play with trucks or something.) :)
But I am happy they like to be read to, and the older one is reading on his own.
A sweet, simple book. Gray Rabbit can't find his book and so decides that he must clean up. Each page has a pile of items, with one item the odd one out. After much tidying, Gray Rabbit finds his book and reads himself to sleep. The illustrations are lovely and detailed, with a blank background to really draw attention to the pictures. Children will enjoy picking out the misfit items, a sure-fire way to draw in reluctant audience members. I like how the reader is brought back to the beginning by Rabbit's unearthing of the book. A simple story arc for young children, but satisfying.
John has been asking for this one again and again. It is a simple story about a rabbit who can't find his favorite book and so he organizes his belongings. It is fun for the children to find out which item does not belong in each catagory.
Gray Rabbit is looking for his favorite book. He decides the easiest way to find it will be to clean up. He cleans up by sorting his toys into "like" groups. Each double-page spread invites the child to find the object that doesn't belong.
Rabbit is looking for his favorite book, but he can’t find it because his room is messy. While reading the book to children teachers and parents should ask the students what item doesn’t belong? This would be a great book for kindergarters because they could identify this.
Easy book for younger kids that I actually enjoyed. It would be fun to sit down with young kids and find the odd thing out in each picture and read the words together. It would not be for an older class however because it is far to simple for them.
I enjoyed reading this book and I think it would be a great book to use in a math lesson. The story is very interactive and the students have to look at e pictures and figure out what shouldn't be there. What is the odd out? Loved this cute book. Teaches math too!
A book designed to help children pick out which item does not belong. The theme of each page changes, which is nice. Great book for lots of interaction.
Gray Rabbit's toys are in a big mess and he is trying to find his favorite book. He decides to start sorting items to help him find his book. This is a great book to introduce sorting to children.
This book is about a rabbit that it looking for a book. He cant find it so he has to clean his room to find it. This book is great to read to the students for them to learn from.
