So this was a trip down memory lane, i must admit that i think that this is like when you meet people you knew 20 years ago, you find that you have little in common... and this is the same with this book. 20 years ago i devoured it and enjoyed it, but now i find that the relationships, the nature/dominance of the men especially dated, i suppose it is book of its time...
I am re-reading classic Nora this summer through the library. I have always liked the MacGregors, although some of the stuff that I used to find romantic seems a little overbearing now. A culture shift, as well as maturity, I suppose. I still think Daniel is a hoot and Anna a brilliant saint. The changes in technology since these were written are fun to notice, and to realize how dependent we are on it.
The MacGregor series is probably my favorite from Nora Roberts. Having the books in a Kindle collection like this allows me to binge re-read the books. It's like Netflix in books except that they are out of order but that's okay too. I re-read my less favorite episodes as well. As Daniel MacGregor would say, I'm all the better for it.
DNF - no, no, no!! I don’t mind romance mixed into a story, but this is “romance” without a story. First, what woman would be attracted to a man that forces himself on her?!? Justin Blake is a douchebag. This woman is supposed to be super intelligent but acts like an idiot that’s been hypnotized around Justin. I typically liked Nora Roberts, but this was garbage.
All 6 books....and there are 6 more...were exactly the same story with different characters. I generally love her books but I really don't think she could have written these.
I had the pleasure of reading Nora Roberts' series of love, family and matchmaking from beginning to end. With all these gorgeous men, I have to say my heart was stolen by one in particular. Daniel (The Matchmaker). After all these years I am still as in love with this series. Nora Roberts and her Macgregors made me the romantic I am today.
Wonderful stories about the MacGregor family! Wonderful character development. I yearned for more. Not sure the order of the books is the was the way I would have read them but understand why the author would . Place them this way.
Wonderful stories involving the MacGregor clan. Each story is about 1 of the children of the patriarch's children. The stories are fun and engaging and you come to love the family. Great characters and you come to enjoy catching up with each couple in the following sequel books!
These stories is how I fell in love with Nora's writing years ago. Classics that are fun to re-read. Her character development is wonderful and has grown throughout the years.
