Finding Her Rhythm

Rate this book
He’s a rock star with the world at his feet—but he’d rather have her there.

Taylor Jemison lost everything when her first dip into the world of consensual kink went wrong, and she wound up on the run from a dangerous ex. Driven from her home and the teaching job she loved, she needs a safe haven. As nanny for a rock star, she’ll live behind gated walls with a private security team. As for the teens’ sexy dad … he’ll be on the road most of the time. That’s good, because one touch of his strong hands leaves her body and heart craving submission to his commands.

Guitarist Michael Korvello may have a rep as an all-in, balls-out hard-rock star with a penchant for kink, but he keeps his personal life firmly separated from his home and his kids. One look at the curvy little nanny, and he knows she can’t stay, because her big green eyes say she craves the control he wants to wield. And though Michael can have any number of beautiful women, he aches for one who’ll truly accept him—inside and out.

Just when neither can deny their need for each other, Taylor’s ex surfaces, intent on taking back what he considers his, and ready to destroy Michael’s world to get her. Can two kindred souls protect their private passion from an outsider bent on ripping them apart?

Finding Her Rhythm was an awesome read. I connected with Taylor almost immediately. I felt so bad for her and the situation she found herself in with her stalker ex. Fortunately she has a great friend in Stephen and he has the perfect solution for her – being the nanny for the tween children of rock star Michael Korvello. While their first meeting may not have been the best impression – for either of them – it certainly insured a lasting impression.

Oddly enough my favorite scene in the book was not one of the smoking hot sex scenes, but rather the first time Michael shared a meal with his children and Taylor. I love, love, loved the way Taylor dealt with Matthew’s refusal to clean up his mess. The way in which she presented his choices of either clean up the mess or you don’t get to take part in family fun night appealed to my professional training and I fell under Ms. Wade’s spell that much harder. I was relieved when Michael finally began to let his guard down and realized that pursuing Taylor might be worth the risk to his heart. I don’t know who I was rooting for more, even if it was for the same outcome.

I had so much fun reading Finding Her Rhythm and watching Taylor and Michael build a relationship while trying to sidestep the other’s baggage. While the sex was hot, it was also sweet as Michael set out to help Taylor overcome her body image insecurities and the emotional damage inflicted by her ex. And because Taylor is dealing with a psycho stalker ex, there is a bit of drama and suspense in the final chapters of the book. I absolutely loved Finding Her Rhythm and cannot wait to read Settling the Score.

I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

I REALLY enjoyed this! Pairing a nanny with a rock star is a fresh premise, and with the issues the hero and heroine are both struggling with, the STEAM coming right off the pages, and the edge of danger...what a riveting read. Very well written and crafted, so poignant and relatable, despite the hero's profession. I'm hoping the hero's brother will get a story of his own!

Don't let the darkness from your past block the light of joy in your present...

Taylor Jemison is a woman with low self esteem issues. She developed these after being with a man who constantly put her down for being overweight, not being good enough to satisfy his kinky wants and needs. After being bullied physically as well as emotionally, she could not take any more and made her escape. She began a new lease on life and took the position of being a nanny to a rock star who was sexy and superhot. Michael Korvello is a god in the music business, but he is also a single dad to the loves of his life, his children.

When Michael meets Taylor he is blown away. She is everything he wants and desires in a woman. She is strong, smart, sexy and her hidden submissiveness tugs at his inner longings. He has his work cut out for him in trying to convince Taylor to let her past go and not let it determine her future. This is the first novel I have read by Dani Wade and she has definitely impressed me with this story.

I look forward to reading the remaining books in this series and future amazing stories Ms. Wade has to offer.

Two and a half years ago, Taylor Jennison lost both her parents. She was easy prey for a man who picked her up in a BDSM club and then proceeded to try and own everything about her. But she wasn't okay with that so she escaped. She got a restraining order, she did the best she could to finally get rid of him. But he's still coming after her. So, with the help of an old school friend, she starts working as a nany for a rockstar.
Michael Korvello comes home to an absolutely stunning woman. She's... a little heavier than the traditional rock star groupie but he can immediately tell that she's a perfect submissive (really? that seems... creepy to assume -- but he's responsible about only moving the relationship forward when she wants to so... not CG-level creepy.
A lot of the sex is actually pretty tame and there's not much in the book so that was fine but the relationship never really connected for me. I got the heat but not how the HEA would be achieved.

"3 out of 5 stars, Taylor is a woman on the run from an abusive ex-boyfriend (who is now stalking her) who takes a job as a nanny for a rockstar's two teens. While living together Michael (the rockstar) and Taylor fall for each other really quickly, especially once they give into their "urges," but will their pasts hold them back from a feature together?

It's definitely a good novel with strong characters and revved up scenes. However..."

A Riveting Story

Finding Her Rhythm: A Rockstar Romance (Backstage Pass Series) is a riveting story! I think Dani Wade is a wonderful author.
Taylor is a beautiful woman dealing with the fear of having been in an abusive relationship with the experimentation in the world of BDSM.
Michael is super sexy and a rock star, is a father of two children and dealing with infidelity of his deceased wife.
When Taylor and Michael meet; she’s the nanny for his children, and he’s home from being on the road with his brother and band. Both have a strong sexual pull towards each other, one that neither one wants but can’t ignore.
I loved every word of Finding Her Rhythm: A Rockstar Romance (Backstage Pass Series).

Super fun Read

I really enjoyed this book. I liked Taylor's background story and character. Also, liked the understated sexual control/dominance subplot. Totally liked Michael and how he was with Taylor, both sexually and lovingly. No drawn out overly misunderstandings or back and forth should we or shouldn't we.
Would totally recommend this book and the next 3 in the series. I will be picking them up right away. I'm sure I won't be disappointed.

Love with a price

She had to risk it. Had to. Even if it meant giving up the kids. I loved the story, and the characters, just wished the ending could have been more forthcoming.

Calling Shenanigans : this book is 196 pages long not 93 what is listed on Goodreads. Another reason to verify your page count because GR will screw you over. My rant is over until I finish reading this book.

Finding her rhythm was such an enjoyable read. It was quick but boy did it get its point across. Pairing a rock star with a nanny a novel idea. Do not want to give anything away. Definetly worth the read.

Great story!

Great story and great writing! I liked that Taylor was a curvier heroine and that Michael found that just as sexy as the typical thin heroine. Very enjoyable!

I liked the characters. The story started off strong but by mid book I found myself getting distracted. If you are looking for a rock star book this one is rock star in name only their is no action in the music scene which let me down.

I wasn't sure what to expect with this book but I'm glad I read it.

Taylor has had it rough. Her parents dies, she has a gran suffering from alzheimers and when she decided to explore the world of dominants and submissives she had a rude introduction. The "Dom" that she was with abused her physically and emotionally. When she finally had the guts to leave he started stalking her. Taylor took a job with rock star Michael being nanny to his children. Michael soon realised this was the perfect submissive he'd been looking for. They spend time exploring the dynamic between them while the abusive ex closes in.

Much as I am not the biggest lover of insta love, this didnt detract anything from the story for me. The dynamic between the characters was great. Taylor struggled to open up and confide in Michael what had happened to her. Michael also had his demon to face. They had to work together to overcome them.
I did feel that it ended a little to cleanly, but then again it's fiction, it's an authors perogative to have it end any way they want. Again it didn't take anything away from the book for me. It was still a great read. It was erotic and sensual and drew me in.

SO I will definitely have to say that I got this one because the cover drew me in. She's a hot curvy girl with a hot guy...LOVED IT! Love that this is not your typical girl, she has insecurity issues that a lot of us curvy girls can relate to, but here this hot star rocker still wants her (that's every girl's fantasy right...a little bad boy who loves curves). Definitely a steamy read, but if you're up for it, I think you'll like it. The relationship they develop is sweet and endearing.

Let's hear it for the sexy alpha male with a sweet fatherly side. This book gives you a bit of everything. A heroine who can give as good as she gets but lets a man hold the reigns. Fantastic kids and a great dad who wishes he had more dad time to give. The nasty, mean guy we all want to hate and secretly or not want to punch in the face with a cast iron pan and last but not least a plucky other brother who is just begging for you to read his story.

Refreshing read with a fab angle. Rock star and the Nanny. I loved how their relationship progressed with the underlying edge of wariness from Taylor and Michael due to their past relationships. 4.5 stars

The plot was great but the execution could have used some work. The characters were easy to fall for and cheer on. The ending was a little abrupt, and I was left wanting more.
