My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 unicorns - I really liked it!
**Gifted to me as part of a blog tour by Girls Heart Books

Okay I’m torn with this book. It started at a 3 because I could easily put the book down, and it was like it was the first book in a series because now that Aurora was in a new world, we all have to learn about this new world with her. It seems as she went down the rabbit hole so to speak into this new world that she left all her confidence in the other realm. This annoyed me because I wanted her to be strong heroine, but it is okay because Fenn and Zane took up her slack, and I love them all the more for it. As the action got better, I really liked it, and it moved to a 4. At the end, I loved all the battles and action making it 5 worthy. So you can see my dilemma with trying to put a number on it. I decided 4 because it was the average of the enjoyment. I so wanted this book to be better than the last one, but I understand why it was like the 1st book in the series even though it is the 2nd. There is a cliffhanger, but stop your whining, it is the logical place to stop. This book did have so much going on with people dying, traitors, dark magic, dragons, harpies, sirens, light magic, Fates, battles, owl people, and so much more. Aurora did redeem herself with acts of courage and getting more confidence. Some things I could totally see where it was going, and others, I had no clue and was surprised. I’m betting that book 3 will be epic and I can’t wait to read it to see what happens next.

I think if you like battles, magic, dragons, and that everything does not turn up roses, you will enjoy reading this story and if you read the first book and enjoyed it, you should read what happens. You will be surprised….

This was a scorcher of a read!

Where book 1 was more YA Urban Fantasy/Paranormal Romance, book 2 is very much Epic Fantasy combining romance, mystery and mayhem. With thrill a minute action and adventure, and a plethora of endearing characters, it ranks amongst the likes of bestsellers, Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings!

The story begins where book 1 left off. Aurora finds herself in the realm where she truly belongs, and it was exciting to get to know the characters and beings of this realm. I was particularly looking forward to meeting the Draconta. With new and old faces, many of the characters latched onto my heart. I loved the wise but somewhat scatterbrained, Alister. And then there was Zane, who did everything he could to redeem himself but still couldn't find room in Rory's heart, because is was reserved for one person, and one person only...

Fenn *sigh* sweet, sweet Fenn, is back in full force. Along with Lexi, Astral and few other characters from the first book, he aids Rory in finding her way within this strange realm, all the while helping to get her ready for the big battle with Zordon. As the story unfolds more lies and deceit come into play, making the battle to save the dying race all the more dangerous, and the defeat of Zordon all the more imperative. Rory and her friends find themselves falling deeper and deeper into Zordon's twisted game, and the question of who can really be trusted comes to the forefront. Rory relies on her intuition, and stubbornness, to gain the up hand however this only complicates matters and lands her in hot water, more than once.

I really loved the struggles Rory had to face all the way through the story. She didn't just go from being an ordinary girl to a half dragon progeny, who then lived happily ever after. She battled her own personal demons; fighting the darkness within while trying to connect with her dragon half without losing herself. Her constant self-doubt and nose for trouble only added fuel to the fire. But she fought her way through it, showing her courage and determination to see the prophecy to the end.

There were a few gut-wrenching moments, and unfortunately, like every great war, there were a few casualties. A few good men and women who were sacrificed for the greater good. Add to that, the final betrayal of a key character and this made for an exciting and captivating read. I was so sad to see it come to an end. I cannot wait for From the Embers!

Candace is an enchantress of the written word.
Do yourself a favor, add this amazing trilogy to your TBR pile (if it isn't there already). You won't be disappointed!
With beautiful covers and enthralling plot twists, you'll lose yourself in the magic she weaves!

Candace Knoebel has done it once again. Embracing The Flames is just as awesome as her first book "Born In Flames". I could not put it down, till I was finished.

The characters are loveable and you need to know more, actually not need, you have to know more. The story is fabulous and sucks you in and does not let you go till the very last word and then you are mad as you need to wait for the next book. The book moves along at an awesome pace and does not slow down till the end.

Candace Knoebel is an awesome writer and I cannot wait to more from her.

Awesome.

Sequels can be tricky. You want them to be as good, as captivating as the first instalment, yet you also want them to progress the story in a way that evolves the characters and relationships you’ve become accustomed to. Embracing the Flames is US author, Candace Knoebel’s second instalment in the Born in Flames trilogy, and with all eyes on the progeny, Aurora must learn to adapt in the new world we find her in, as well as come to terms of what is expected of her.

If you remember from the first book, Aurora always knew she was slightly different than everybody else in her small neighbourhood, and with the creepy insights by a crazed stalker, she learnt of her true fate. Part dragon, part mage, Aurora followed the clues in the prophecy, guided by her trusted friend Fenn, and accepted her identity, arriving in a new realm. Embracing the Flames picks up where Born in Flames left us, and fans of the original will love what is on offer.

Second instalments are often seen as the bridge that brings together the beginning and the end, and this is true enough for this novel, although it is nowhere as mundane as that sounds. Believe me, there is plenty of action here. We follow Aurora not only with her training in the magic arts, the transformation into her dragon self, but also through betrayals, secrets, loss and truth. This is one complex young adult fantasy. And the title is a real clue to what you can expect.

What really brings this book to life is the world in which Knoebel creates, along with the mythology, religion and way of life. Aurora is new to this realm, and we learn with her. It’s a rich delicious way of storytelling that can leave your head craving for more. I found myself longing to know more about these meddlesome ‘Fates’, the guilt-ridden necromancers, the deathly devious Dark Saar. Whereas the first book was more urban fantasy, Embracing the Flames is very much a true fantasy novel that brings to life juicy elements of magic and intrigue. And it is Knoebel’s storytelling that weaves all the elements together into one fine gem of a story. It is a little obvious where Knoebel’s influences come from, Harry Potter being one prime example, especially with the vocal exclamations when it comes to preforming spells, but this story is so much grittier, more accessible for an older audience than Harry Potter will ever be.

Characterisation is always a big key in young adult books, and Knoebel doesn’t falter here either. Aurora and Fenn’s relationship is taken to the next level as they must understand and trust each other in a way they never thought imaginable. We got to see the beginnings of their love blossom before, but here things really get spicy. The sexual tension between the two adds a real maturity to the story that is quite fresh and wonderful to read. It is neither cheesy or over exaggerated and for that, I’m thankful. With the addition of another character, we really start to see how love is actually a complex thing, and this is where trust must come to the fore. It was great to see how Aurora and Fenn managed to react and cope with this new angle.

Speaking of characters, there are two stand-out in here for me. The first is Astral,Candace Knoebel Aurora’s guardian and confidant of sorts. He’s wise, reflective and with a dash of secrecy, his character is fabulously told. I really wanted to know more about his own personal story. You can’t help but respect the choices he has taken, as well as some of the burdens one must take for the greater good. I also fell in love with an extremely minor character too. Irisi. She is one of the necromancers who helps Aurora half way through the book, and I was a little sad not to see her come around again before the end. Hopefully it wasn’t the last we saw of this woman; a woman who surely has layers of depth to her.

Themes also play a huge part in this instalment, even more than you really notice. Acceptance is a big one. Not only does Aurora have to accept what is expected of her with fulfilling a prophecy, she must also accept her own capabilities and learn to handle her sometimes act-first-think-later attitude that see’s her get into some real trouble. She often goes against the advice of her elders, as she starts to take the reins and find out what Zordon, her arch-nemesis, is after, and why he is hell bent on bringing war to this realm.

As I finished this book, I sat back and thought about how far Aurora has come. That is when it truly hits you with how epic this fantasy is. We start off learning the way of life here, and of the magical capabilities of Aurora. But when Astral is taken from her, there are battles, both personal and physical, kidnapping, threats, torture, love … it really takes your breath away, and it still isn’t over! There’s the final instalment to come!

I did feel at times though, that some parts became a little unoriginal. I love the world in which we find Aurora in, and as a classical and ancient mythology lover, I loved the deep layered mythology in here, but I had to draw the line when it came to Alistair. Alistair runs the Biblium, a place to find out anything and everything. The problem was I loved the concept and Alistair’s character, I only wish he wasn’t an owl, as I felt this was a little obvious and an almost child-friendly approach. I also don’t particularly like Zordon’s name. I grew up watching the Power Rangers and I can’t help but get Zordon’s image out of my head, everytime it is mentioned, but that’s just me. I also felt like some people may feel alienated if they hadn’t have read the first book, as quick recaps sometimes aren’t enough.

Embracing the Flames not only matches its predicessor, it excels it in every way. The storytelling is magical, mind blowing, gritty and so full of depth. There are plenty of shocks along the way, shocks that will make you gasp out loud, give you goosebumps. I really felt the weight of expectation and the burdens of Aurora’s destiny in this story, which is key to following her plight. There is also a sincerity to the people in her life, so when betrayal and backstabbing comes knocking, the pain is that much worse, and with the new sexual tension between our heroes now obvious, this novel feels so much more compelling and developed. This story just got serious, and I can’t wait to see what happens in the final book; let me tell you, it is going to explosive!

The story picks up five months after the end of 'Born in Flames' during training in the other realm. Aurora is learning about her magic and her dragon side, driving herself with every scrap of energy in the name of the people and realms that she loves. She has accepted the enormous responsibility of being the only hope; fortunately, she as a lot of great support from familiar characters and new. 'Embracing the Flames' features an extensive network of enemies and allies and those who hover on the line between. I did not reread 'Born in Flames' before starting this book and I had trouble recalling the complex connections between groups and people and there is little by the way of a recap (e.g., Rory reminds us that only a Dark Saar can kill a dragon, but not what a Dark Saar is).

Rory is working her tail off and it shows. Not only is she training with magic, but reading and learning about the realm and its inhabitants which include several groups, cultures, creatures, and fantastic settings. Despite her success, Rory finds that she has trouble making her ideas and opinions heard by those whom she believes should listen to her most. Rory has proved herself time and time again and it is frustrating for her to be dismissed or reduced to someone who has to obey the judgment of others. Her grandparents' refusal to listen to Rory or to ensure that she understands why their position is the wiser pushes her the point where the Progeny takes matters into her own hands.

Clever and opportunistic, Rory can hold her own in a tense situation. Rory picks things up quickly and when she focuses her attention there is no stopping her. She follows her instincts and unique connections to wrangle any advantage against an opponent who becomes more threatening just as fast. Because Rory is so smart, it was frustrating to have her "ask" questions that I could answer, an oversight that was even more bewildering because the narrative is in first person. Rory's mind is a steel trap and for five months she's been stuffing it with knowledge she then demonstrates in strategic debates; therefore, when she asked me questions like, "Who would have taken her?" I had to put the book down for a while.

The incredible strength of 'Embracing the Flames' lies within the world-building and, by extension, the people who live there. There are cultures and individuals and beings that all have a part to play and a story to tell; all are imaginative and fascinating and REAL. Though the prophecy was the driving force behind much of the action, I would have preferred that it take a back seat to the tensions and balance between the inhabitants of the realms. The prophecy contains clues that could help Rory in her fight but it spends most of its time being a tease. It seemed uninteresting compared to everything the book was already offering and the effect it is supposed to have on the events is impotent next to the events themselves.

The way Rory relates to other people was, hands down, my favorite part. Rory is an exemplary person: she wants to do right by everyone, within reason. She stands by her choices, admits her mistakes, and must do so to a multitude of people and creatures all demanding things of her. Though two realms are at stake, the relationships between the central characters have a singularity-like pull as values come into conflict and secrets are revealed.

The descriptions in the book are captivating and convey settings and concepts like Knoebel is shooting imagines into your brain like blow darts. Every time Rory relayed a new location or a spell I was hooked and giddy with anticipation, exclaiming things like, "That's so awesome!" or, "Coooooooooooooooooool!" I would love to read a spell book in full as the bit Rory read from 'The Many Uses of Elemental Magic' was delightful and gave context to the rest of the book. Rory is the only mage who has ever used fire and the comfort she comes to display with it puts her at the top of the dragon girl charts--and that doesn't even count all the nifty stuff she can do in her dragon form.

A surprising downside to 'Embracing the Flames' had nothing to do with the storytelling but in the writing. There were several typos and missing words and at times I felt like no one had read the book with a careful eye straight through. I found myself derailed by sentences or exchanges that said things other than what they were going for. Though these slip-ups were easy enough to figure out, I was derailed by them and surprised that so many had made it into print.

Experiencing this story alongside someone as strong and good as Rory has been an amazing pleasure so far. 'Embracing the Flames' is an incredible adventure on every (red, mirrored) scale. Filled with humor, sorrow, suspense, love, and wisdom, it burns a path to the final book: 'From the Embers'.

Embracing the Flames is a great sequel to Born in Flames and I enjoyed it just as much. Aurora, Fenn & Lexi are now firmly back where they belong and are being trained for the battle that is to come. Things aren’t straight forward as some people aren’t being as honest as they should and leads to a fair few revelations with some very serious consequences for all involved. As Zordon starts building his armies in preparation for what’s to come, Aurora is making unlikely alliances herself but nothing can prepare her for what she must go through or what those around her must face to be on her side and we are reminded that there is a lot at stake if Zordon is to be defeated and sometimes you must lose the battle to win the war.

I liked the progression throughout this book, things went along as I thought they should but by the end…. I was knocked for six as events took a different route. This book had a lot of emotions, sending me on a roller coaster ride… Aurora’s progression as a character was good, as I said in the beginning I was getting what I had expected in the form of her struggling with and attempting to master her magic under the instruction of her mentor Astral whilst also learning some form of combat with her soul mate – Fenn. What I really liked was that in order to control her Draconta side she had to go to her mother and spend time with the Draconta at their home and be trained to protect the Stone of Immortality, this gave us a great insight into her other side. I enjoyed the romance between Aurora & Fenn also but it didn’t hit me like the first book did, Sometimes I felt like she was a bit childish with him and it sort of put me off a bit, however I did like the complication brought from another character and what that brought out in Fenn, giving us a definite idea of the depth of his feelings.

The storyline was a lot more revealing this time around, a few new places are revealed filled with new and sometimes unusual characters and there were some major secrets revealed throughout which will leave you with your mouth agape. I really enjoyed how Aurora’s world opened up in this, she visits new places and meets new characters that will have a real influence on her both for better & worse. I loved her mother’s homeland, the descriptions of the Dragons and their home was begging for some imagery to go alongside the story – it sounded amazing! I thought the same with another mystical place you will read about, but I will leave you to discover that for yourselves. I still enjoyed the glimpses we got into Zordon’s actions… they felt a lot more dangerous this time around and really had me on edge that she would be discovered most of the time especially as we see that Zordon will stop at nothing to get his way. It was definitely a roller coaster ride with lots of ups and downs with the downs being as low as a story can go, leading to some heart breaking moments that affects our characters profoundly & as Aurora makes unlikely alliances she also has to deal with the flip side of that & the consequences. She really does go through it in this book and you can definitely feel that this book is a game changer, the players have well & truly been placed and Zordon does indeed strike but that’s when things take a surprising turn, a cliffhanger of sorts that left me wishing I had the next book, right now, because I just have to find out what’s next for all involved especially Aurora & Fenn.

"Love is a wild creature that be tamed. It's unconditional. And although it sometimes makes you feel like one small person against this big, old world, you must remember you are the world to one particular person."

This book was amazing, but I have one complaint! It was far too long! I normally read a book in a couple of days and this book took me about a week to read! I was reading it and it felt like I was just continuing to read it and it was kind of never ending! It was amazing though and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Embracing the Flames will take you on a journey that will leave your heart racing and your palms sweating! I definitely preferred it to Born In Flames! The plot of this book was epic! I loved how much it had progressed from the first book and how much it had changed as well! It had progressed so much from the first book and it felt like the adventure was getting somewhere! There were so many unexpected moments in the plot and my mouth dropped open so many times! It also just kept getting better and better! The characters were again amazing! Aurora in this book knew what her part was and what she had to do, but there were also consequences to what she had to do as well! I thought that Aurora had grown quite a lot from the first book! She was more determined and she showed strength and several major point during Embracing the Flames! I loved that Fenn was in this book a lot! I was slightly let down when he wasn't really in Born In Flames, but he was in this book a lot! I adored him in this book! I loved how protective he was of Aurora and he was so hot as well! There was sort of a love triangle in this book between Aurora, Fenn and Zane and I loved it! I wasn't expecting the love triangle aspect and I was completely torn between Fenn and Zane as well which I wasn't expecting! They were both just as hot as each other and I loved both of their relationships with Aurora! The other characters in this book all added so much to it! They all played a part and they were all amazing! I will definitely be reading the next book in this series as I am thoroughly enjoying this series for its uniqueness and its plot! Plus, how beautiful is that cover?! I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it! It suits the first book's cover perfectly as well! Big thank you to Candace for a copy of Embracing the Flames and to Penelope and Ann for having me on the Blog Tour!

When we last left Aurora and Fenn in Born in Flames, they had just returned to their true home and were reunited with long last family. And Embracing the Flames starts pretty close to where we left off, picking up with Aurora and Fenn training for the fight of their lives.

In Embracing the Flames Candace Knoebel gives us lots more magic, lots more dragon and a lot more heat. The magic that Candace Knoebel used was faintly reminiscent of Harry Potter as the mage had to literally vocalize spells in order to wield their magic. It was also nice to get to see Aurora use her dragon side more and finally become at peace with her dragon.

Throughout Embracing the Flames we are given a greater glimpse into the world that Aurora and Fenn left behind when they were forced into hiding on Earth. We are also introduced to a ton of new characters. Some good and some bad. And Candace Knoebel delivers more than a few surprises throughout the story and delivers us more than our fair share of excitement, thrills, suspense, laughter, love and sadness. Giving the reader the full range of emotions as they finish Embracing the Flames.

As I read through Embracing the Flames there was only one thing that bothered me. I love stories with love and stories that deal with a person being deemed the protector of another, but in Embracing the Flames I couldn't help but feel that Fenn sort of fell short of being the all great protector that he is prophesied to be. When in danger or facing a battle it always seemed to be Fenn relying on Aurora to save him instead of the other way around. But that being said I love the relationship between Fenn and Aurora. The feelings they share seem genuine and they have the kind of love that I can't help but root for. I just wish that Fenn would get his chance to be the powerful mage I know he can be. Perhaps he will get his chance in the last installment of this trilogy.

Embracing the Flames is a wonderful read that will give the reader the opportunity to venture to other worlds, visit dragons, fight as a dragon, fight as a mage and love as soul mates. It is a story that I think everyone should read and I can't wait to see how all the surprises that Candace Knoebel gave us play out in the final installment.

Favorite 4 Lines “Fear will only pull you away from what you are truly capable of. Believe that you can, and you will. It’s as simple as that.”

“It didn’t take long to fall asleep in his arms. His heartbeat synced with mine as the lullaby I hadn’t heard in so long softly played in my mind. I hadn’t realized how much I had missed the music”

"Love is a wild creature that be tamed. It's unconditional. And although it sometimes makes you feel like one small person against this big, old world, you must remember you are the world to one particular person."

“Back to Fenn. Back to a broken reality.”

What a amazing ride this book was!!
Aurora (Little Flame) is home back in the her realm. The Progeny returns!
Rory is an amazing character who is filled with so much doubt and at the same time wanting to prove herself to be the savior everyone deserves but, I can't blame her. She can't seem to catch a break! Her only peace comes from Fenn, her parents, and Astral! Zordon is the dark to her light and man is he a evil nasty whatever he is! While reading this book the authors writing helps you feel everything that is going on, it is described in such amazing detail!
So much heartache, doubt, new friends, more betrayal, out of control points, and so much hope! Rory may be the progeny but, she is also a woman in love, who just finally met he parents, finally met her dragon grandparents, finally meets her people The Draconta, who finally gets to know of her past, and fears her future.
As to be expected the ending left me wanting more but, still, answered so many questions. I honestly don't know how nook 3 can top this but I look forward to reading it!
Amazing writing you really could see how much this author has grown, how the characters have come into themselves, and how scared I am that this new reality could brake Little Flame.
I will be recommending this book to everyone!!

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review (Girls Heart Books)

Embracing the Flames is another fantastic novel written by none other than Candace Knoebel. Through this novel you get a more in-depth look into the new life of Aurora. With Born in Flames ending on a note of excitement as her whole world changes this second novel will leave you on the edge at every moment. From the first chapter things are exciting and full of new found wonder and as it progresses, things change and the guessing game of thinking you know what will happen; doesn't work.

I was overly impressed after reading Born in Flames (Novel #1) and was quite excited to start Embracing the Flames. Candace Knoebel's writing improved a significant amount in Embracing the Flames and I was incredibly impressed. She was able to take her novel to the next level with all the suspense and questions I was left asking myself at each new turn in the novel. I would be thinking one thing was going to happen and when it came, it was completely different. Throughout every twist and turn of this novel you will find both excitement and heart wrenching scenarios that leave you breathless.

I have come to love each and every character (except for the evil few because they're actually really evil.) There are characters who I am basically in love with right now because of their interesting personalities and their important to the story. I can honestly say that I would love to be in Aurora's world right now; I need to be in her world right now. I cannot begin to express how much I need to read From the Embers just to find out what happens to everyone I have come to love.

Anyone looking for a fantastic series to pick up; look for a copy of Born in Flames and join in this journey. Follow the lives of some amazing characters who will become a part of you as you read on. There is a world just waiting for you to step into.

This is the Second book in the Born in Flames Trilogy. The first book was great but the second was beyond amazing. It was like being sucked through a portal to another world. I already knew the characters so it was much easier to get emotionally evolved but with Candace's writing you come to love the characters for all there attitudes, quirks and faults. This story is full of all kinds of supernatural beings. Witches, Mages, Dragons, Fates just to name a few. The character development in the book was great, especially the characters who played a smaller role in the first book. When Astral is taken I think I was almost as shaken by it as Aurora was. There are secrets that everyone is keeping that come to light and change how the characters interact with each other. I know that Aurora and Finn are fated to be together but I cant help rooting for Zane. Zane is turning into my favorite character. He's funny, quirky and accepts and understands Aurora more than anyone else can. When one of there own is lost it was very sad, but makes the prophecy ring true. Aurora uses the Oraculus to check in with Zordon to see what his plans are but it never goes as planned. Going to the land of dragconta was eye opening. Throw in the Dark Saar and it gets scary pretty fast. When one of there own becomes a traitor, and they are in full blown war we learn that Zordon and Aurora are more connected then we could believe. Some surprise reappearances bring relief, sorrow and joy. Some revelations at the end of the book show that Aurora and her allies will have to fight harder then they have before to save the future. I really loved this and am excited and sad for the final book of the Born in Flames Trilogy.

Uhm, so this book was uhhhhmaaaaaaZING…I decided that sleep was unimportant to me just so that i could finish this book…since i work two jobs that was almost stupid of me BUT i didn’t care because this was just as wonderful except more kick ass than the first one! Alex is super kick ass and i found there was much more action in this one than the first. I know i held my breath every couple of chapters and rushed to read through it. There was indeed more tragedy and heartbreak in this book but i found that it gave me more to love. Alex Fenn Zane and Lexi continue to break the rules as expected and as usual with some success i might add. Alex meets her mama and grandparents officially. If you ask me, Dragons are a bit stuck up but hey as an ancient royal dragon i probably be that way too. Of course Zordon is raising hell and Soothe plays hard to get. As the title suggest Aurora in my opinion finally embraces that dragon part of her and succeeds in being a whole. The ending of this one…thank goodness for it because it immediately preps me and revs me up for book 3. The only reason i’m not reading book 3 right now is because i started mushing up these first two into one big book.

After the fast paced action of Born in Flames, I was really looking forward to what Aurora would be faced with next, but the first chapters fell flat. It wasn't bad (that really wouldn't be fair), but it definitely had a much slower pace and concentrated heavily on Aurora's emotions and back story. She was waiting, and so was I.

But the story doesn't stay that way. When everything finally got going, it was great - even better than before. Aurora is faced against a real opponent and a nasty one at that. Her new circle of friends are all very likable, each with their own separate personality. And I enjoyed several of the new relationships which formed - very authentic. Even her relationship to Fenn was much more enjoyable, now that the false hesitation was no longer necessary. To round it off, the switch to the fantasy realm felt very natural and was very well done. I felt just at home there as in the real world.

Rory, Fenn and Zane are all back in this exciting conclusion to Born in Flames. Rory is coming into her own, learning her way in a new realm, preparing for battle and trying to embrace her inner Dragon without loosing herself along the way. Zane does anything and everything he can in an attempt to redeem himself, but there's only one man for Rory.

There are familiar faces as well as a few new characters to captivate and entice readers. Knoebel stays true to the characters she created in the first book, keeping their core personalities the same but throwing obstacles into their paths that allow them to grow. I love the relationship between Fenn and Rory, the way that Fenn is meant to be her protector but she never hesitates to be his savior as well.

Knoebel's world of realms is a rich and original story full of love, loss, twists, turns and a shocking betrayal. Embracing will leave you anxious for the next installment in this series.

Embracing the Flames by Candace Knoebel

I loved Embracing the Flames, truly loved it such a amazing read. Embracing the Flames is the second book in the Born in Flames trilogy, it starts off where Born in Flames ends, with Aurora accepting her fate, her destiny, with the help of Fenn, Astral, as well as some great and possibly not so great friends.
Like Born in Flames, Embracing the Flames grabs on to you and does not let go, (seriously I read it in one sitting) there is more danger, adventure, romance, betrayal throw in dragons, magic, Fates and what's not to love!
Candace Knoebel has done it again. I can't wait to get my hands on From the Embers the final instalment to the Born in Flames Trilogy.

If you have not read Born in Flames, you need to get it and start this trilogy, I promise you won't regret it.

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

I received an eARc copy of this book to read for a blog tour in return for an honest review. I have to say that at first the book seemed very long and drawn out and it took me longer to read than normal. I had no trouble putting it aside and reading another book. But as the story progressed, it started to get better and the action was phenomenal. I loved the action and suspense in it. The characters were still magnificent and lovable. There were times that I knew something would happen and then other times I was shocked at what happened in the story. This is a remarkable fun read for YA's to love and enjoy. A MUST read for the paranormal action types. I give this book 4.5 stars because of the lengthy beginning, but yet as the book progressed it got faster and more enjoyable to read and the awesome cliffhanger at the end.

Aurora Jay Megalos is a mage searching for a title, the reason for her existence. She moves into a realm where magic and warfare govern those who live there, and makes many discoveries on her journey. There are others who assist her, but it is up to her to find the reason she came to be, and why she is connected to a particular practitioner of the dark arts.

Embracing the Flames has a slow, almost boring start, but picks up speed soon. The reader soon finds themselves lost in the story of Aurora, a young woman training to become a mage. This a quest fantasy, one of a journey both physical and internal, and Candace Knoebel plots it well. At times, it seems to move almost too fast, but the elements all come together at the pivotal point. I recommend this story to all who enjoy a good quest tale.

I really had a hard time keeping my attention to this story. I had a hard time keeping track of all the different characters who kept changing their allegiance to the good side. There were several place that were just downright confusing. When Rory, Fenn, and two others were supposed to stay hand in hand then all of a sudden dividing up? The first book was easier to follow along with. This just had too many portals and name changes and allegiances and then death or not death. Blah. So sooty with this but maybe this was just bad timing for me to read this. Maybe it has to do with reading this on an original IPad and not a "real" book. I had to stop several time to read other books. So sorry . .

Embracing the Flames beings 5 months after Aurora returns to the realm, she is now training, There is corruption in the Fates and Zordon’s army is getting strong and it won’t be long before he tries to get the Stone of Immortality.

Aurora is still finding her powers and she has to learn to merge with her dragon side which she is scared of as she cannot control her dragon side.

This novel was a rollercoaster of emotions and there were lots of twists and turns which I liked. With romance, fantasy, sadness and fear it made great reading.

Candace Knoebel is a fantastic author. Really looking forward to reading the 3rd and final book in the trilogy.

First, I would like to thank Candace Knoebel for giving me this book for an honest review. This story is full of all kinds of supernatural beings. There are secrets that everyone is keeping that come to light and change how the characters interact with each other. They have to fight harder than ever before. We have new characters and old with heartbreaking moments the story progressed even better than the first book. Aurora is coming into her own along the way. I am looking forward to reading the next book to see what happens next.

Book #2 I enjoyed..This book followed up where the first ended.Back in her own realm and still trying to find a way to Zordon. With a bunch of shocking twists and turns made me wanting to know what was going to happen next. I loved the versus to the songs and prophecy! they fit right into the book. I was a little confused on the character Lexi.. It seemed she had a bunch of mood swings. The way this book ended left wanting to read the next book and im so excited to see how it will go!!!

I'm pretty sure I liked this about the same as this first, if not a little it more. The noel isn't really all that complex but at the same time, it has different dynamics to it, that keep you desperate to follow the story. Can't wait for the third and final novel!
