From New York Times bestselling author Opal Carew comes the fourth installment in a red hot erotic mini-series that will rock your world.Rafe Ranier was my boss and secret crush. A rock musician by night and head of a billion dollar empire by day, Rafe could have any woman he wanted. But I was just the shy secretary he never noticed. For years I obsessed over him, until I finally realized I had to walk away. I needed to break from the secure life I’d always known to discover who I really was.I never expected Rafe to follow me.Now I’m on the road with his band, Savage Kiss, and all my secret fantasies are coming true. But I fear I’ve made a huge mistake, because if I get any more attached to a man I can never truly have, my heart will be broken beyond all repair. Don't miss the other epic installments of HIS TO CLAIM: No Strings (Part 1), Savage Kiss (Part 2), Rock Hard (Part 3), Breaking Storm (Part 5), and Perfect Rhythm (Part 6).
Our heroine Melanie is off to join the band as they tour around the country sans Mr. Hannah Montana because he has commitments to his company and all that. So Melanie went along even though Mr. Hannah Montana disapproves of this especially since their lead singer wants Melanie for himself. There's a job description for Melanie in here somewhere but I'm still confused as to what exactly she's there for except for a convenient plot device. This of course complicates her relationship with Mr.Hanna Montana because of Travis, the lead singer who wants Melanie for himself. In fact, during the course of the tour, every band member seems to want her too and guess what?? She likes the attention. She's in love with Mr.Hannah Montana but that which irked me to no end.
I wish I could rate it again especially since things seems to be picking up but made me rage a little bit. That and the fact that everyone in the band is halfway in love with this chick! That's always unbelievable to me. So yeah, one sad star.
Quick review for a quick read. Better than the last installment, but not by much (and I make no understatements given the cliches and flaws in this). This had Rafe and Melanie playing between jealousy games and working their issues out while Melanie's on the road with the group that Rafe/Storm used to be a part of. Rafe/Storm is apart from her, but has to work through his own jealousy to try to trust Melanie. Some of the same problems plague this narrative as the former part (overuse of "masculine" descriptor, interchanging names on the part of Rafe/Storm, etc), but this is a little better because the character motivators are a little clearer than the last installment. Not so much more palpable though - the biggest problem that I see in this is that it's extremely hard to suspend disbelief for this narrative, and that tends to throw me out of a story.
Still heavily wish fulfillment, but again - that wouldn't be a problem as long as the suspension of disbelief could be carried. I found it very hard to believe that the heroine's pretty much playing between three guys who all vie for her affections - it's a little too good to be true for the scenario, plus Melanie leaving all of her former employment behind to start an art career that is probably lukewarm for opportunity at best? She's got it a little too easy for the story's sense of realism and for the overarching conflict. Even for a quick read, I felt how sluggish the pacing was for the setup. I also think the Travis/Rafe/Diego go betweens are a little too stereotypical/cliche for my liking. Diego is really, *really* cliched for a character of color. He can be funny, I grant that, but it's hard to really see more of his character here, and even in such a short span of time, I think he could be better established (heck, all the characters could for the scenario).
I still think the conflict's really hard to believe, though considering this book ends on a cliffhanger, I wonder how things are going to work out given the revelation and the note it ends on. It does not look good for the couple, but I'll admit I'm curious enough to see where it goes.
Overall score: 1.5/5 stars
Note: I received this as an ARC from NetGalley, from the publisher St. Martin's Press.

parts 1-5 read and reviewed together
in the His to Claim series, Opal Carew has provided another fun, sexy, easy to read story. following on from the His to Possess series, this one follows Melissa & Rafe. as always, there's the ups and downs of a new (maybe) relationship, with plenty of hot chemistry between them.
only trouble is, I only have ARC's for the first 5 parts & now I'm left hanging, at a critical moment in the story, waiting impatiently for the last instalment to get to the HEA! well, there better be a HEA in there anyway!! :)
Title: Wild Ones Author: Opal Carew Publisher/Year: St Martin Press 6/10/14 Length: 31 Pages Series: His to Claim #4
Overview
Rafe Ranier was my boss and secret crush. A rock musician by night and head of a billion dollar empire by day, Rafe could have any woman he wanted. But I was just the shy secretary he never noticed. For years I obsessed over him, until I finally realized I had to walk away. I needed to break from the secure life I’d always known to discover who I really was.
I never expected Rafe to follow me.
Now I’m on the road with his band, Savage Kiss, and all my secret fantasies are coming true. But I fear I’ve made a huge mistake, because if I get any more attached to a man I can never truly have, my heart will be broken beyond all repair.
My Thoughts
so, as we know, Melanie has decided to go on tour and Rafe has stayed in Philly to work on the company. What will the distance between them mean especially since they left on bad terms? well your guess is as good as mine.
It's not just the distance that's putting a crimp in things. She now has to deal with her clear sexual attraction with Travis - who doesn't seem to want to take no for an answer, and Melanie begins to wonder if she shouldn't say no. then one night Diego - another bandmade decides to hint at a threesome with her and Travis, so we know what rabbit hole they are about to go down.
This really makes for some tension and passion that's become a trait of our author Ms. Carew. I think that it's something that builds anticipation as we're nearing the end of a story and I can't wait to see what it means. I mean, sometimes it seems like it's a competition between the guys for Melanie and sometimes i see that Melanie just doesn't want to have to choose. She just wants to explore that side of things - the controlling side of sex which all the boys seem to be more than willing to help with - aside from Rafe.
Onto what i think is the finale - book 5 to see if we're coming to the end of bliss - since a drunken Diego seems to flip the switch on everyone, and the world comes crashing down.
This is a series of novellas. I have read parts 1-5. The sixth part is not out yet and this series has cliffhangers.
Rafe is a musician and it really is a balm to his soul. The band has just made it big but he has decided to go home to help his brother run their corporation. That's right, he's a billionaire too. He muscled, tattooed and sexy.while he was back home at his company, he had an assistant named Melanie. She was invaluable to him at work. She left because she harbored feelings for him she knew he'd never return. She's a bit of a free spirit and really wants to be an artist. Rafe never knew the the reason for her leaving.
He missed Melanie and went to see her at her new job as a barista. When he sees her,he finally really sees her and he wants her. Melanie is apprehensive but thrilled with the knowledge that Rafe wants her. She's loved him for so long and now her dreams coming true. She doesn't trust it but she's more than willing to go along for the ride. Rafe's been fooled by love before and tells himself he wants a fling only.
I wavered back and forth with how I felt about the book while reading it. I liked it, then I didn't,then I did and then I didn't. The character's fault irritated me a lot of the time. Melanie was insecure, unsure of how to get what she wanted and tempted by other men. She even let them kiss her! Rafe was untrusting sometimes thoughtless. I mean the sex was hot, the chemistry was good but the story was just so-so. Will I come back for part six? Only if I get it for free.
Warning for the less adventurous readers: this series contains a foursome.

I can't believe I'm going to say this but, way to go Melanie!
It's sad when you reach a point in the story when you're cheering the villain (Travis) and his minion (Diego). But really Rafe needs to get his head out of his @ss! He struggles--Yes, I know-- but for goodness sake, get over it already. There's only so much Melanie is going to stand for and especially now that she has discovered some interesting things about herself. If he's not willing to explore that side of her and fulfill her needs then he should let her go without all this added drama.
Granted, I don't think Travis' intentions are all that great but at least he has kept things interested for me.
I've just about giving up on the story by this point since there are so many elements lacking since the serial started. The connection between Rafe and Melanie is non-existing, the emotions are few and far between and the conflict has not been fully explored. So yeah, I'm focusing my reviews on the sex.
Curious to see where the next one leads although I already have a vague idea where is going. *sigh* More sex!
Is she really in love with him? Is he willing to leave his brother, the one he was to get to know again to go after her?
In the fourth installment of His to Claim, I couldn’t believe what was happening. Melanie was on the road with Savage Kiss and Storm was back home. He wanted to get to know his brother better but he also wanted to prove something to him. Storm loved that Dane, his brother, had taken account his concept of going green. He wanted to work in the family company and now Melanie was on the road with Travis. Melanie needed to remember that Travis was known to take away the girlfriends of Storm so she was not going to fall into that trap. She loved Storm and she wanted to have a relationship with him but what if they were over. Travis and Diego, another band member, were attractive and they did something to her. Melanie was having these fantasies about that should not have been going through her mind. What was she going to do, what if Storm found out? What would Storm do?
I can’t wait to see what happens next. I recommend this read to all readers that love erotic romance.
(Review for parts 1-5) I will admit before I have read a Opal Carew book and so disliked it that I did not Finnish it. However I take each book at its own merits, but I wanted to be honest. I am enjoying this book and was irked that I didn't realize there was 6 parts so I am still waiting to finish it. I have enjoyed the variety of scenes in the books and I love the break down in the parts. I could read the book cover to cover, but I love it being broken down for me, so I do not have to decide where to end for the night. Storm (aka Rafe) is a business suited rock guitarist. Melanie used to be his personal assistant, but left her job to pursue her art. Now that they no longer work together, things are allowed to get hot and heated between the two, but will Storm be able to live with what he and Melanie both want out of a relationship?
As I said, I am enjoying the the book and am desperate to finish it, but there are times when I think the caliber in writing could be better. Some word choices and phrasing seem highschoolish, overused. But overall, it is much better than the first book I ever tried to read by this author.
The story of this series focuses on Rafe, alter ego called Storm, and Melanie. He used to he her multimillionaire boss but she left when it got too painful that her feelings for him were not reciprocated. All the time he didn't know how she felt. When not a CEO he's lead guitarist in a rock band. The characters are shallow and dull, nothing about them excites or intrigues me. Striving to attract attention the author combines in one man two popular popular male lead roles, millionaire and rock star but without success; he's so empty. The plot is virtually non existent & feels like just a building block to link unimpressive sex scene to sex scene. (*Empty plot, he feels groin twinge, she leaps on him, he expresses expletives to show excitement, post coital glow*, repeat * to * for 5 books) I finished books 1 & 2 but books 3-5 were DNF (did not finish). This rarely happens, I usually will continue just to see how the story plays out and how characters develop but for the above reasons I was not interested this time.
Wild Ones by Opal Carew is the fourth novella in her six-part His To Claim series. Each novella picks up immediately where the last left off, in this fourth book we are on the tour bus with Melanie. She defied Rafe's commands that she NOT go on tour with the band. She believes it is one thing to need him to command and dominate in the bedroom, but if she allows him to dictate her life neither one of them will respect her.
The new dilemma is how is she supposed to stay true to her feelings for Storm (AKA Rafe) when her attraction to Travis AND Diego is growing ever stronger. They are right there, in her face and Storm isn't. What is a girl to do with so many hot rock stars chasing after her? I say take 'em all!!! LOL.
In the fourth book in the His to Claim series, Melanie has set her course and is traveling with Savage Kiss, minus Storm, her now ex(?) boyfriend. When the lead singer Travis and the guitarist Diego proposition her, Melanie likes the attention and is intrigued by having two men at once, but her heart lies with the man who isn't with her. In her free time, she draws Rafe/Storm and to make money along the road, she draws pictures of the other band members and sells them at their concerts to the fans. Meanwhile, Rafe is home keeping the family business going with his brother and partner, Dane. When Dane suggests that Rafe go back on tour and follow his heart and his girl, Rafe is unsure of what to do. His relationship with his brother is not great, due to an abusive father who tore the two apart. Rafe wants to reconnect with his brother, and doesn't want to leave him with the business. Still all talk and very little action. Really not liking this series.
So at the end of the last novella we left Melanie about to make the decision as to whether she would be joining Savage Kiss on the road even though Rafe was dead against it.
She goes! What happens in Wild Ones is a ton of jealousy and a potential for things to kick off as Travis wants Melanie, he doesn't care about the fact that she may belong to Rafe.
Melanie makes a huge mistake in kissing him, but when she does she finds herself enjoying it which totally confuses her feelings for Rafe but will he find out about it and what will happen when he does?
I didn't enjoy this novella as much as the last three, saying that it was still a good read but I felt Melanie should have had some respect for Rafe and not have kissed Travis, but that's just my old fashioned opinion!
I really love Melanie and Rafe (Storm) together. I get we need conflict in the story because no love story is without it. But I really don't like Travis, he is a jerk. When Melanie is around him and suddenly decides to kiss him or lust after him she gets on my nerves. I think Melanie needs to make up her mind. She also needs to stop being a hypocrite! She wants Storm to trust her yet when he's not around she keeps letting other men kiss her. How is that ok? If it was the other way around I am sure she would be fuming. Because of this part of the story and the fact that Storm wasn't present for most of it I almost put the book down. My love of Storm prevailed and I kept reading. Glad I did, this installment pushed story a long for me a little bit. Off the read the next one to see where Opal takes it now.
Melanie has taken up the offer of touring with the band without Rafe. Other members of the band are keen to be involved with Melanie and while Rafe is out of the way, take matters into their own hands. Melanie proves to be a not uncooperative participant in this.
This is a so so instalment hence the low rating. Whilst their is a storyline in there somewhere it's not all that great if I'm honest. I have got the next instalment to read and will continue with it, if only to see how things play out between Melanie and her man or men as the case may be.
I was sent a copy of this n exchange for an honest review via NetGalley from the Publisher.
Melanie has left Rafe and gone on the road as a roadie with his band Savage Kiss. Is this the end to the crazy relationship that they had just started? Can they trust one another enough to make it through this? As Melanie is exposed to more creative thinking on the road, she grasps it and channels it into her art. Learning that maybe, just maybe she can have a better life for herself with what she really loves to do.
Is Rafe strong enough and does he trust Melanie enough to leave her out their with his band> Or will he find a way to be the CEO of his and his brothers company and still tour and try to make a go at his and Melanie's relationship?
Opal Carew His To Claim #4 We leave off with the cliffhanging in #3 with Rafe stating "I'm saying you're not going." Well that always works out well, being told not to do what you desire to do. And it obviously does not work with her either because on the bus she gets and joins the tour. She dives into her passion which is art and is sellling many mini pictures. Okay most of them feature Rafe as the subject, but she is still being an artist. She is in heaven. Their is a little bit of sexual tension with some of the other band members but I am hoping that it works itself out. Once again a bit of a cliffhanger, that I certainly can't spill, now reading #5.
Leaving him was the hardest thing she has ever done in her life. Melanie knows he will fight for her but didn't realize how hard up she is for him. He's different from guys she has dated before and it scares her. Being away from him is hard yet even through the sexual distraction there is with Travis and Diego she is torn. Her heart wants and loves Rafe but her body feels like it's about to explode. Travis doesn't make it easier on her giving her all the attention she so does not need from him. Can she last through this trip with the band without Rafe aka Storm the only man for her?
Melanie leaves Rafe behind to go on tour with the band while he stays home to do his business thing. They are trying to work on their relationship, but it is a challenge to do that long distance. There are some jealousy issues happening with good reason as Melanie is very attracted to Travis. They share an experience with Diego that is steamy. Besides exploring her sexuality, she is also doing that with her creative side as she begins to draw more.
Rafe is still struggling with the dual identity. Should he leave the business to go back to the band? His brother thinks so, but at this point I want him to just decide already.
Like with the last installment in this series, this one was pretty much just filler. And maybe I'm not such a huge fan of Travis anymore. I hate all of them.

Melanie..Melanie...MELANIE!!! Diego and Travis sound wicked hot and man are they persistent. Storm is trying to be the good brother by staying with Dane to help run the company. As he soon realizes is Melanie ...that is where and who he wants to be with. Now, she is doing some soul searching too and she realizes she is very much attracted to Travis and Diego!! I really do hope there is a series on each of Savage Kiss members!! I would definitely read that!!
I received this ARC from the publisher via Net Galley for my honest review. Thank you. Net Galley!
Rafe "Storm" Ranier is scrumptious! He is still searching for his identity. Working through his guilt of needing to bond with his brother Dane, Rafe finds himself denying his needs once again.
The absolutely delightful encounter between Rafe and Melanie in the tattoo parlor is worth noting. It definitely put a smile on my face!
The intimate scenes are scorching hot, just like Opal Carew always delivers. Some of the scenes blew my mind. Very creative!
Well-written and with an alluring plot line, this was well worth reading.

4 UH OH STARS
Dang, three rock stars wanting you and two willing do be there for you at once. Melanie has willpower of steel. But Storm aka Rafe took a while to figure out what he wanted and what was important to him. I just wish he hadn't found out what happened by way of a drunken Diego.
**ARC provided via NetGalley for an honest review**
Loving the progression of this story, it feels somewhat realistic. Love being able to follow Melanie through her journey to discovering who she is and what she wants. I would totally be her friend. Ends in a slight cliffhanger but it's tolerable. The transitions between scenes are a bit choppy though. Come on book #5 need to know where Diego and Rafe's convo leads to.
Oh my, what a mess! This instalment is certainly packed with hot sex and compromising situations, and I just loved every moment of it! At this point, I would like to punch Melanie in the face for not taking up on a certain offer (I mean, seriously?) and kick Rafe in the nuts because he's now getting on my nerves (dude, chill out!). This was fantastic, and I love, love, LOVE how Carew is always leaving me hanging and begging for more with every single instalment!
Each instalment gets steamier and each one ends with a cliffhanger. Melanie is on the road with the band and temptation is all around her but her feelings for Storm are strong enough to fight off temptation. However, one minor indiscretion that she kept from Storm comes out and not sure how Storm will react to that. Can't wait to read more!
Another great quick read. Here we join Melanie and Storm/Rafe as they are separated. Melanie has gone on the road with Savage Kiss leaving Storm behind. His trust and jealousy are off the charts as he has to trust Melanie with Travis.
Travis and Diego are both putting the moves on Melanie. Will she be true to Storm even though she's attracted to these two men?
Oh boy oh boy. This book is mainly about Melanie trying to figure out what it is she wants. Does she want to be an artist or something else. Storm's exbandmates invite her to join them on tour and things get interesting. This book is slower and a little less interesting to me but it was still an amazing part of the story.
Ok now is getting more interesting!!!! What is gonna happen now that Storm just found out that both Diego and Travis had kiss Melanie. And not just that, that it seem like Melanie is into Travis and might have slept with him if Storm didn't call at that moment. Well I guess well find pout in the next book!! Can't waito read it now!!!
