Wow, these two books were awesome!

There were some sad things with the characters with some deaths from the last book. This made a rift between some friends but luckily they finally came back together.

We are introduced to some new characters that I just loved! Luc, Paris and Archer. Although, Archer may have been in the other books, he sounds familiar but I don't think so. They are all totally cool!

One person I hated came back and I hated them even more. They are full of lies and they just keep on lying! Actually, we find some people that went missing in the other books.

Katy and Daemon promise to help Dawson try to save Beth from the evil corporation that has her. They have a lot of people/aliens and they are evil and I hate them. This plot to save Beth went to hell in a handbasket but we knew that it would. Everything worked out in the end though.

There were some really sweet things happen with Katy and Daemon which made me so happy.

Some truths came out about certain aliens that were traitors. I knew it too! I had that one pegged but it still hurt to find out they were the ones calling the evil people and siding with them.

A lot of revelations people! A lot! More deaths that were sad =(

And the ending freaked me out! I have to find out what is going to happen! I'm sure it will turn out for the best. I hope so anyway!

Overall, I'm having fun with this series and will continue with the last book and the prequels and other little side books =)

Happy Reading!

I should start by saying (as usual) this is my review of the WHOLE Lux series...

It'll be as hard as Daemon's abs not to give out any spoilers but I'll do my best! ;) *takes deep breath*

I CANT EVEN START TO EXPLAIN HOW MUCH I LOVED LUX!!!!! LIKE HOLY ALIEN BABIES EVERYWHERE MY MIND HAS BEEN BLOWN AND MY HEART HAS BEEN STOLEN BY THIS SERIES...

I had a friend who saw this book on good-reads and told me about it because lets just say I'm a little... OK maybe a lot obsessed with aliens. Well once she told me about it I looked it up and I was a little so/so about it at first bc the cover was a little too old school romance novel for me, but thank the alien gods above that i didn't let that keep me from reading it! I finished all five books in less than 3 days! Each book gets better and better. I normally find myself saying how much I like the first book more than the third or the second one didn't match up well with the last, etc. etc. This wasn't an issue with this series each book is better than the last! (opal and origin are tied for my personal favorite bc THOSE ENDING!!!!!! OMG!!!!!)

Normally when a series is this action packed it would come off as trying to hard, NOPE Jennifer armentrout made it seem effortless... These books are seriously the definition of "a page turner".
***oh and side-note: she gets sarcasm and romance on a level that a lot of ya authors just don't get... like holy hot alien scenes!!!***

These books had me laughing, crying, screaming, and wanting to flip over tables with excitement. The characters are amazing, well built, hilarious, and just over all lovely! Its been a very long time since I have been this excited about a book series. I'm 100% sure that Jennifer Armentrout wrote this book for me, I mean aliens, romance, and witty comebacks will forever be the key to my heart and Jennifer Armentrout is the key master!

I fear if I continue to talk about this serious anymore I'm going to let some secrets slip out and I would truly hate for that to happen and you not get the chance to experience all the plot twist, humor, and action that this series has to offer... So I'll round out my very ranting review by saying this,

IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE LUX SERIES RUN OUT TO THE CLOSEST BOOK STORE AND BUY THE WHOLE SERIES... NOT JUST THE FIRST ONE BUT ALL FIVE... CLEAR YOUR SCHEDULE FOR A FEW DAYS... THEN GO HOME AND LOCK YOURSELF IN A ROOM AND READ THESE BOOKS!!! you wont regret it!

This was great, it was fast paced and maintained my interest throughout. The reason for the downgrade? I didn't like one particular event that happened, I just thought it was unnecessary to the story line. But other than that I really enjoyed it!

OH MY GOD!!! What just happened? Seriously..

I love this series so much it's actually unbelievable, just when I think it can't get any better it does. EVERY TIME! Jennifer L. Armentrout always amazes me and her books really excite me but this series is out of this world (pardon the pun) aliens be bitching!!

After reading Opal it nearly gave me a heart attack (seriously I took palpitations) it had me in a puddle of my own tears by the end of the book. Origin had me in tears from the beginning, I couldn't read it fast enough my eyes were choking my brain I was trying to take it in that quick.

Katy is one of my favourite leading ladies, she wears her heart on her sleeve and there is no doubt where her loyalties lie. Her determination and sassy mouth have me smiling all the way through the book I felt every emotion with her, my heart ached for her, I cried, I laughed and I got so frustrated it was a glass cage of emotion.

Daemon has had me googly eyed swooning with his cocky attitude and sheer confidence since the start of this series. You see a completely different side of him in this book which I love because he's still the DB we know and love with more compassion and he lets his guard down showing his human side. Over half way in the book he becomes very soppy which had me in complete cringe mode I was like what the actual hell?! Just as I was thinking why have you done this Armentrout it all kicks off.. yes she sneakily had me thinking he had gone all soft and was going to keep hitting out with the most corniest things you could ever imagine.. then a serious ass kicking is just around the corner AHHH SERIOUSLY?!?!?!

The book is full of "OH MY GOD THIS IS NOT HAPPENING" moments that has completely shocked me, the whole Blake thing? I couldn't help but feel sad even after everything he had done.

If I could give the book more than 5 stars I certainly would, it's truly amazing and if you haven't bought this series yet what the hell is wrong with you?! Go buy it quick!

So I've read this up until page 689. The plan was to just get myself through the last couple of chapters and finish the series, but I found out there is a fifth book and I am just so DONE with this series. I was already feeling a little bit too old for it (especially the romance stuff) when I was reading the first two books, but a tiny bit of the story interested me enough to keep reading. Now, everything is just too predictable, and there is way too much romance in unnecessary moments and places.

I feel like I can still mark the book as read, however, because I did finish the third book (and so close to finishing the fourth, but I can just not do it anymore) and I need it to count for my reading challenge.

Anyway, maybe one day I'll feel like picking it up again (I doubt it). I wouldn't mind someone spoiling the ending for me though, because there is 0.00001% of me that is curious enough to want to know that.

This book is fluffy and corny but oh boy I loved every second of it. Daemon's protectiveness and love for Katy blew my mind. It's the kind of love story that makes you smile like an idiot the whole time and bawl your eyes out when you realize you will never experience anything like it. Call me cheesy but the romance in this book warmed my heart.

I really enjoyed reading from both Katy and Daemon's points of view. It was refreshing and I'm always a sucker for man's pov in romance books.

The plot itself isn't the most original but it was still interesting and some chapters were so action-packed that I couldn't put the book down. Of course, it ended on a cliffhanger so I'm off to read the last book of the series :)

This series is literally like drugs?????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Super super oh and super addicting.
Once you pick up the book – you are physically unable to drop it back down. I’m dead serious, my eyes were absorbing and my mind was swallowing word after word.
As I mentioned earlier, its drugs but in book format.

What I love/hate about this series is that events are so damn predictable or so damn unpredictable.
I am aware this is not a “sophisticated” review but if you read these books you will understand my state of NOT BEING ABLE TO FORMULATE A COHERENT REVIEW.
I also don’t want to go into the spoilers because then this will legit become an essay.
Just pick up the damn book!

3.5 stars for the third and the forth book

Is really liked the forth book. It was so fast paced with a lot of action. We finally get some insight into the whole government situation and it was satisfying. I knew that all of it will not be totally logical but that's okay. And the cliffhanger at the end made me want to pick up the last book in the series.

The third book was a typical in-between book. It was predictable and not much happened. It was still really cute because Katy and Deamon are a fun couple.

DNF.

I did not expect to hate this book. At all. I was madly, deeply, and quite possibly, insanely, in love with the first two books [hahaha, see me quoting the book? ;)] so of course, I was VERRRYY excited about reading the next parts, but it just left me disappointed. :/ Believe me when I say that I really tried to like this book because I couldn't bear with the fact that I wasn't going to continue a series I had previously been obsessed with! You see, it has never happened to me before but–

SOOO, here I'm going to make a hopefully short list of all the things that made me give this series up:
1. THE WRITING STYLE. OH MY FUCKING GOD. I have no ideeah how I managed to get through the first two books if the writing style was this annoying. I felt like I was reading a book written by a teenager on Wattpad. [Hey, no hard feelings towards Wattpad though, I breathe and write Wattpad, too!] Could. Not. Tolerate. It.

2. Katy, and, umm, Katy. Does she even really like anything about Daemon other than his hotness? Why is it that whenever they both are together, all they do is make out? When I'm reading books, I always like to follow the no-kiss rule to really know if I like the couple's romance or not – if I can tell they both are in love without them having to kiss/make out/have sex on every other page, the couple passes. If not, they don't. With Katy and Daemon, I can not, however much I try, see anything else other than their burning desire to keep snogging each other for the rest of their lives. Especially hate it when this happens in a book that isn't specifically romance. :/

Woot woot! Brownie points to me for incorporating a Dan Howell gif in my review, right on point.

3. DAWSON, YOU WEIRDO. Can Dawson just not stalk his brother's girlfriend and turn up in her room in the middle of the night because "I couldn't sleep." Oh yeah, give me a break! I don't care how much she reminds you of your former girlfriend/the girl you're in love with, but please.

4.Effects of all of the above. Okay, so because of the aforementioned things, I have also:
a) Developed hate-induced feelings towards the previous books that I had loved so dearly.
b) Have been led to believe and think that they were stupid too.
c) Don't even care about the real plot anymore (if that even exists along with all this drama.)

Maybe all this was because I had a 6-month gap between my reading the first two books and this book, or maybe I do give this a try again because I suddenly start missing Daemon or something (???) but all of that is highly unlikely so I wouldn't count on it. :( I was SO excited for this and it hurts me to think how drastically my feelings have changed for the characters and this series!

OPAL - READ BETWEEN JULY 1 ST AND 7 TH

J'adore.

ORIGINS - READ BETWEEN JULY 18 TH AND 30 TH

*3.5 star rating*

Consequences is truly an interesting mix of two different novels that show a great character development that I wouldn't change for the world. JLA has seriously done it again, though I definitely think that the first two novels in this Lux series were better than these two. Maybe it's because I've moved on with the genre of aliens and all of that, or maybe it is because I outgrew the fun and games that Daemon and Katy produced and how unrealistic this series actually is. Although, although, although, there was a ton of action that is memorable and hot.

From my whole experience of reading Opal and Origin, I can't even commemorate what I thought of each, but I knew that Opal was definitely better. Katy got more annoying, more reliant on Daemon and his family, and things basically turned upside down by Origin. I'm not a big fan of this series anymore as things came out to be, and I wish that I still loved it as much as I did about a year ago when the first books came out.

"It always felt good typing up a review on a book I enjoyed and I went all out, finding bizarre pictures to emphasize the wow factor. I preferred ones with cute kittens and llamas. And Dean Winchester. Hitting 'publish post' cracked a smile. One down, three more to go." (38)

The books are pretty slow-paced, as they're both about 400 pages each and don't have a lot happening in them. I got bored easily, finding myself rolling my eyes and wondering if there will be some kind of plot twist. The writing got less descriptive, more bland and wishy-washy. I just expected a big piece of intrigue to fly at me and make me want to read the last book in the series and discover what will happen to Katy and Daemon.

Daemon and Katy's relationship should have been stronger than ever, I must say. I expected an intense relationship, but this was more about the outside story where Daemon's brother and sister have their own issues. Daemon, although I love him, did go a little nuts when the whole Vegas, desperation fiasco happened, but I kind of expected more, you know?

"I want to spend every second, every minute, every hour with you. [...] I want a year's worth of seconds and minutes with you. I want a decade's worth of hours, so many that I can't add them up." (695)

What am I thinking now after it's all over? I'm wondering if I seriously love Daemon as much as I did before. This is a powerful, passionate story about love and action, but nothing much more. It's definitely not a story that I'll be thinking about for years and years, but it is something that did make me smile here and there.

Consequences was an interesting bundle of two stories that people were obsessed so strongly that the fan club is real. Daemon's hot, Katy's annoying, and although the stories are pretty slow, they are enjoyable. If you are a die-hard fan of everything JLA has ever written, then these books will totally be for you. Eh.

Love, Love, Loved everything about this series, these 2 books, and this gorgeous special edition.

So this is a re-read. I first read these 2 books back in 2013. But I purchased the combined special edition versions, and decided on a re-read. Absolutely loved it just as much, if not more than the first time.
Opal and Origin are pure drama, crazy tension, seat-of-your-pants action, sizzling chemistry and some big ole tear jerking moments, rolled in to one epic and gorgeous bundle.

I'm not going to do a background summary, as anyone looking at this review, is more than likely aware of the the whole Lux series, and the epic-ness of it.

Opal and Origin is post Katy mutation. Her DNA was changed when, Daemon her gorgeous next door neighbour/Alien, saved her life.
We are learning what Katy is, and what she can now do. She is pretty awesome and you start to learn that pretty swift. She is known as a Hybrid, and soon enough she will realise just what this means, and how her life is never going to be the same.
We also have Blake, another Hybrid, but a completely backstabbing, and mysterious one. Watch out for him.
Opal is full of mystery, drama, and big plans. Also the tension and chemistry between Kat and Daemon, is pretty much at it's ultimate level.

Origin is the 4th story in the series, and continues straight on from the huge cliffhanger, from Opal. I can't say too much about this one, encase anybody is starting this, and hasn't caught up yet. Anything about Origin is a massive spoiler. What I will say is, Origin is incredible.
It's almost like Origin did a Harry Potter, and suddenly became far more serious, and adult. Not in a roll-around-like-crazy-animals, kind of way. But that the situations they are all in now, is far more serious, and it takes a slightly darker, more intense tone to it.
Love all the new regular characters too, Archer & Luc.
We get to see Katy go through some of the most epic, and hard stages in her life, in this book alone. Talk about a completely whirlwind of life events. But it is more than apparent, that Katy is pretty special in so many ways.
Again the ending of Origin is a cliffhanger, not as big and annoying as the Opal cliffhanger, but big enough to have you stomping your foot. BUT if you are reading this now, the final book Opposition has been out for ages, so don't panic. ;)

The Lux Consequences is pretty much an incredible combo. Well worth purchasing. The cover alone is gorgeous, and the extra scenes, and beginning of Opposition makes it a perfect bundle.
I can't recommend this enough to fans of Paranormal Romance. Even those new to PNR, the Lux series by J.L. Armentrout is a perfect series to start with. Her writing is incredible and addictive. This series is unique and compelling. One of my favourites!

5 huge stars!!

~NOTE: there are spoilers for Obsidian & Onyx (first and second books) in this review.~

When beginning Consequences, I was expecting something amazing that would blow my socks off like it did with Obsidian and Onyx. My suppositions were a bit too high, so in the end, I was disappointed with what I read.

The Lux series is known to be cheesy and loosely related to Twilight. While both seem to be negatives about this alien story, I had no problem with the cheesiness or that it’s like the story of Bella and Edward. I didn’t exactly see the resemblance since I never read the Twilight books or saw the movies. I may not have minded the cheesiness of the books at first, but when I delved deep into the third and fourth books, I slowly changed my way of thinking. I don’t know why I suddenly stopped enjoying the cheesiness of the book, but it happened and I wasn’t blown away. Actually, it was the reason why I struggled to get this book read before the week ended. And that just stunk.

If I were to pick which book I enjoyed more in this second bind-up, I’d choose Opal (the third book). There was so much more tension, drama, suspense, and action than what was given in Origin (the fourth book). With Dawson and others making an appearance in the third book, problems were at a high and I really wanted to know if their raid on Mount Weather would succeed. When that major problem backed down, there weren’t many problems made in the fourth. The action was MIA and I struggled to get through it.

Before the raid on Mount Weather occurred, big problems were solved so quickly– too quickly. In the ending of Onyx, Daemon healed Will. I thought that would be one of the main conflicts of the next book, but that didn’t happen. It was barely mentioned in the book and the pretty messy problem was solved in just a few pages. I had complications with that, because the conflict really wasn’t given the time it should’ve been given to sort itself out.

The two may be cheesy at most parts, but I really did enjoy reading about Daemon and Katy. I like them both as a person and I love them together. Both were definitely entertaining to read about and that helped with the story. Daemon is totally boyfriend goals.

Overall I did take delight in reading Consequences. It was a nice, fluffy read; it just didn’t match the awesomeness of the first two books Obsidian and Onyx.

Here's another review that is more like verbal fangirl throw up, just warning you guys.

Oh my God. Origin is an amazing book. 5/5 stars, definitely. The plot was perfect, the plot twist toward the end was heart wrenching, and I loved every page of it. Katy's situation broke my heart, and Daemon's fear and overwhelming concern for her almost made me cry. They melted my heart more times than I can count and I’m so happy this book was written in both their perspectives because I love Katy's since I’m so used to it, and Daemon's is always a treat since I love getting glimpses into that hard head of his. Being able to fully understand Daemon's love for Kat made me love him 500x more and I'm this close to googling everything about aliens and attempting to find myself a Daemon. Sorry boys in the universe, you will forever be compared to Daemon Black and I doubt anyone can win that contest.

My only negative comment, and this actually goes for all the books in the LUX series, is that Jennifer L. Armentrout needs to find a better editor because I've noticed typos at least once per book.

But besides that, I loved absolutely everything about Origin and I can't wait to get started on Opposition! Now this is where I would put in my own summary of Origin, but I started writing one several times, and I can't think of anything that wouldn't spoil half the plot, so here's what's written on the back of the book: (DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVEN’T FINISHED OPAL BECAUSE THERE'S A MAJOR SPOILER IN THE FIRST SENTENCE ALONE)

Daemon will do anything to get Katy back. After the successful but disastrous raid on Mount Weather, he’s facing the impossible. Katy is gone. Taken. Everything becomes about finding her. But the most dangerous for has been there all along, and when the truths are exposed and the lies come crumbling down, which side will Daemon and Katy be standing on? And will they even be together?
