Described as a reinterpretation of Luo mythology and originally published in Dholuo, this story contains a lot of repetition of phrases and shifting between perspectives of characters, so it becomes a bit tedious, but maybe that's to be expected of a myth.

I need to read more African mythology. I loved that this touches on African spiritual practices that spotlight harmony between human beings and nature.

If I could be one character in this book, I’d definitely be Nyawir 😂. Always asking questions and wanting to try different things 💀

Good storytelling, although the writing could use an update.
