Stacey's Quest

Rate this book
Four teen-age girls just want to shop for stylish shoes, having no idea what to do when civilization fails them. Now Stacey, raised all her life as a material girl, must face the unknown to save herself, her family and her friends in a suddenly hostile world. At 15 she is the youngest in her clique, doing everything she can to fit in with her friends in their suburban Philadelphia environment of upscale neighborhoods and malls. Life is good until the lights go out. In an instant their whole world changes and little in their short lives prepares them for the new reality of no electricity, no cell phones, and worst of all right now, no working transportation. Facing the elements and rapidly vanishing civility, the struggle tests their bonds to each other and challenges the values that they held dear only a few hours before. With no one else to lean on, Stacey seeks her inner strength and wisdom to guide them though the coming winter and protect them from the rest of the city trying to survive the same. On Thanksgiving she lived the life of a superficial little girl most worried about trendy fashion; scant days later she wonders if she will even see Christmas.
