Arthur Tress

Rate this book
The definitive monograph on this American artist's work, this book includes photographs from Tress' earliest collections, long out-of-print, such as "The Dream Collector" and "Theater of the Mind." It also includes his surrealistic staged portraits from the 1970s and 1980s. Tress' work is allegorical, fantastic, and grotesque--sometimes humorous, sometimes deadly serious. A beautifully reproduced collection, with numerous male nudes.

Mr. Tress is a weird one this collection of his early black and white work is full of pathos and humour; highly recommend it to anyone interested in portraiture and the human condition.
