I have heard voices in my head since I was just a child. I began writing their stories when I was eight-years-old and sharing them with my best friend. We had a lot of laughs about it and came up with some crazy scenes when we were kids. Since then, my writing has become more serious. I prefer to write stories that do end well, despite the trials and tribulations that my characters go through. So often life deals a hard blow, and it is all in the way that you handle it that makes you a strong and well-rounded person.
Love stories that make you laugh, cry, feel anger and joy are the best stories, and I strive for that goal with each novel I release.
My blog is up and running on my website: www.collettescott.net, where I post news on my upcoming releases. Take a look and have some fun!
This was a great book. I thoroughly enjoyed it. One of the best I have read in sometime. This is the second book from this author that I have recently read and they were both great. So much so that I got the rest of the books in this series and plan to read them. I just can't say enough about how good they were, how well written they were. I like how the story builds to a point where it is next to impossible to put the book down because it is just so good. And, Emery and Zach are so well fleshed out you feel you almost know them. There are times that I felt like I understood how Zach felt about Emery. Emery of course being the target of the crime that was pointed at her was traumatized by the incident; but Zach and Emery's Mother too. I am trying to write this so as not to include spoilers. But if there was ever a book that I would recommend to anyone to read this is it. All the characters were great in this book and I especially liked Dolly Emery's Aunt. I read Chapter 26 and the Epilogue multiple times. I loved those Chapters so much. Also, the book was surprisingly clean, no profanity or overly graphic sex scenes to speak of it. I look forward to reading the others in this series of books.
The Evan's Family series is a really good read. I like the way the characters Interact with each other and that it isn't filled with explicit sexual scenes but filled with love.
Do not let the cover put you off! This is a fabulous story!!! It's filled with action, emotion and amazing characters! Loved this story, tears and all! The book may lack proofreading and the cover is not flattering, but the story makes up for it tenfold.
Evans Family Book Two was a good read but in my opinion it did not live up to Book One. Let me begin by saying I enjoyed it but was disappointed by certain events that happened near the end.
We take a look back at the horrific attack that happened ten years ago. There was a home invasion and brutal stabbing that left Emery Flores dying. Zach Evans was her neighbor and the hero who rescued her from certain death. The traumatic incident spurred Zachary into a life of law enforcement and he was a man on a mission. When a case lands on Zachary Evans desk he quickly sees it is a continuation of the horrible events that still plague his dreams. This information sends Zach on a frantic search for his childhood friend, Emery Flores, but she is no where to be found and has been living in seclusion since her recovery from that fated day.
Emery Flores is emotionally and physically scarred from that awful day and escaped to the mountains of Colorado while pursuing her career as an artist. She is stunned when a face from the past shows up at her door while a blizzard is quickly approaching.
I cannot thoroughly explain what troubled me in this book as it is a spoiler that most of you would not appreciate, but I will just say this: I did not like how Zach handled a couple of things and the non-existent communication during this time. I am sure there are a lot of you that it will not bother at all--but it did bother me. However, the story did end in a HEA but for me it was clouded by the lack of communication.
I like this author's novels. They grab me and I want to read them non-stop. In this sequel, Emery Marie Flores, as a teenager, went through a horrible attack on herself and friend, witnessing his death. She herself survived after her throat was cut only because of the quick action to save her by her school friend, Zachary Evans. They had been great friends as neighbors, but after this crime, Emery withdraws from society, even from her friends and her mother. Eventually, she seeks a secluded life in a cabin in the mountains of Colorado. Zachary himself has gone on to become an FBI agent, mostly because of the crime perpetrated on Emery. Zach's boss calls him into his office and informs him that one of the men that had been incarcerated for the crime was on the run after he escaped from a vehicle transporting him to another facility was run off the road. Zach was concerned about Emery's safety, but no one knows, even her mother, where Emery is living. Zach needs to find her, but how? And will he find her before the criminal Augustin does? This story is full of suspense, restoring friendship and love, healing, and the challenges of winter isolation. Collette Scott is a great storyteller. I look forward to reading more of her novels.
Emery and Zach were best friends. But one night ten years ago something terrible happened and they both drifted apart. Now Emery needs Zach's help and he has to find a way to breach the walls.
Although this book is part of a series, it can be read alone without missing anything. I loved this book as much, if not more, than the first book. The story is well written and the characters are so fun to get to know. Ms. Scott has a way of capturing the reader and drawing them into the story. I felt the desperation, pain, love and urgency through out the story. I can definitely say that Collette Scott has become a new favorite author of mine. Check out the series if you enjoy romance, mystery and suspense.
I received this book free of charge in exchange for my honest review.
I found this book to be an eye opener. I love her books. She knows how to capture a reader, hook line and sinker in the first chapter. This one grabbed my by the heart and squeezed. The ordeal that emery suffered was horrific and the way that out changed her life was so upsetting but at the same time undeniable. I was so happy when Zach re-entered her life. It shows how unreadable true love can be. Zach melted my heart with all that he does for emery. Just an all or amazing, edge of you're seat book. I encourage anyone to read anything by Colette Scott.
