4.5 Death is Mercy Stars ⭐
~Read to many times to admit. There are so many moments I adore about this unique couple. Makes my heart sing everytime!~
I want a hero. A big, strong, handsome prince to come rescue me from my miserable life. But since one has not arrived, I must rescue myself.
Living with an agoraphobic father, 21 year old Daisy Miller has spent the last few years plotting her escape. When guilt can no longer hold her back, she finds herself in a new town making a new start. Kind natured and completely innocent, it is neither a blessing or a curse that she meets Nikolai.
Nikolai Anders isn't much older then Daisy, but the things he's seen and done makes him a million times advanced in years. Ex Bratva and now a hired killer, he should never have set his sights on Daisy. Yet now that he has, he can't resist inserting himself into her life, manipulating her and going to extreme lengths to keep Daisy.
“I will kiss you, Daisy. I will kiss you all night. I will do more than kiss you if you wish. Simply say the word.”
It may sound cunning at this point, but Last Hit is truly a love story. Granted unorthodox, you'll not meet a more smitten or commited anti hero. Although from opposite worlds, both Nick and Daisy are fractured and in desperate want of love and tolerance.
This story was slow burn yet genuinely erotic. A little suspense and angst made this enjoyable to read. The highlight for me was that sexual tension that always simmered in the background between Daisy and Nick. I gotta say I loved these two as a couple.

This is not your normal killer/virgin story. No cliché to be found here folks.
Nick/Nickolai is a hit man that has been released from the Bratva. While scoping his next mark, he sees Daisy. She is a vision of light and innocence that he hungers for but one whom he knows he will never be worthy of. Once their unplanned meeting takes place however, he cannot help but fall even more into all that is beautiful about his Daisy. While the heroine is naïve and unsure about so much in her new life, she is drawn to the stranger that is Nick.
What results is a charming, awkward courting between the hero and heroine. Both are inexperienced in dating much less relationships. They fumble with conversation and the simple steps of getting to know each other only adds to the charm. The movie night date was a wonderful disaster of which I’ve never read the likes of.
Nick is an absolute alpha hero and his taking care of Daisy was hilarious at times. Daisy was reluctant to accept anything from Nick and yet he helped her in such a manner that she often didn’t recognize it for what it was. When she did, she was strong enough to stand up to him and I was pleased these authors gave her that backbone. You’re gonna love the way he works around some of her needs.
About three-fourths of the way in, the story felt a little drawn out but only because Nick and Daisy are separated and their scenes together were where the true magic was. I loved the way Daniel coerced Nick into letting him somewhat, kind of, a little bit, become his friend. I think Regan and Daniel’s story is next and I will definitely be picking that one up!
If you love your alpha heroes damaged, socially awkward, prepared to do anything for the woman they consider their own, you’re going to love Nick.
If you love your heroines to be sweet, innocent, lost in the world, naïve and yet able to stand up to a killer, you’re going to love Daisy.
I actually hate that this story ended! I wanted more!

This is a book that I read back in December; but I wasn't able to do a proper review as my Grandson was born! I had to come back though and just post a little something, as this was a book that stuck with me for awhile after I read it. I read so much that not every book lingers in my mind, but for some reason this one stayed and I am very eager to see more from this author.
This is a story about Daisy and Nikolai, they are like night and day in most ways; and yet in others they are quite similar. He is a hitman, and has been from an extremely young age. All Nikolai knows is killing, he has very minimal social skills, and because of it he comes across as naive and innocent. I know that sounds like a stretch when I talk about someone who has killed since he was a child; but surprisingly his lack of knowledge about certain life skills soften his whole personality up. It made it so I could easily over look the fact that he was a murderer.
Then we have Daisy..Here is a girl who up until she ran away at 21; lived with her father (who suffered from agraphobia)and was never a part of society. Her father had extreme mental illness, and he couldn't leave the house; which in turn made it so Daisy was trapped at home as well throughout her whole childhood. When Daisy finally does leave him, she is so unprepared for the "real" world. She brings innocence to a whole other level; but she is willing to try and fit in as best as she can.
When Nikolai and Daisy's paths cross, I loved every minute of their time together. There was such a sweetness to every encounter they had with one another, that I just sucked it all in. Eventually they do have sex, and some of the scenes are very hot; but I have to say that I just enjoyed them as a couple. They both are flying blind in the relationship area; but somehow they strive to make it work.
Nikolai did start off stalking her, but in a weird way it just didn't creep me out!!
All in all, this was a story that I adored. It is also one that I will never forget. Sometimes the simplest, sweetest stories are the ones that touch me the most; and in this case this is one of the books. I am really hoping that the author will continue with this series; and I am literally waiting for what she has in store for us next. I still from time to time stop and think I should check to see if she has put out the second one yet! (it really hasn't been that long!!)
I can't wait for what Ms. Clare has in store for the reading world next; but she has a fan in me!!

I hadn’t read this book in six years and figured I needed a refresher before I continue on in the series! I am sooo glad that I did! Even better is that I still really enjoyed this the second time around!!! I am eager to continue on with the series... Finally!!!

"Daisy. It is a lovely name"
Daisy is a girl that has been living a hidden life with her dad. The only she gets to move out of her house was for library and groceries. Staying in very secured house, Daisy finally took the courage to run away to experience the life at the age of 21.
Bye bye daddy and hello world....
Nick Anders aka Nkolai Andrushko, a hot young assassin who was on job and falls with in love with Daisy. he monitors her from distance and tries to keep her safe.
What happens when these two world collide?
" I am greedy man, Daisy. I want more from you than just a few words. I want all of your attention. When you think of me, you text me. I don't want you to hunt for short words because is easier to type. I want everything from you have to say. This makes it easier"

Everything you need is in this book from action, romance to wee bit angst!
It was a wonderful nice read for me.....So hope you will enjoy it too!!

I really enjoyed this one, although I thought it was super slow to start. I had trouble clearly understanding what the whole Bratva thing was right away (as applied to the way it worked in this book, not in general…longtime mafia reader here) so that made the beginning a little confusing for me; but perhaps I'm just a little slow.
I really liked Nikolai and I thought he and Daisy complemented each other really well. I am really interested in the second one and already started it.

Re-read via Audible. Actually increased my rating. I love this story and I love both Nick and Daisy. She was so brave. I am certain that they would not be together if not for her bravery and honesty throughout the story. The fact that they are both so naive and innocent of societal norms is appealing and refreshing, at times hilarious. Nick is so strong, possessive and protective and yet terribly insecure. It is a wonderful combination! you never doubt their love for each other. Even when his past catches up to her.
The audio version was enjoyable. It had both male and female narrators, which in really liked.

4 Made For Each Other Stars

This has the interesting combination of a Russian Hitman and a cloistered 21-year-old virgin. Both are oddly perfect for each other and end up finding their truth together during a kidnapping, revenge killings, and ultimately love.
Took a bit to understand how this was to come together... but once I saw where it was all going and how...it was entertaining... and some moments were very sensual...
This first part of the series ended well yet left it open for more to come.

changing my rating to a 4 after the re-read

WOW, WOW, WOW I love this book, 5 stars is nowhere near enough stars for this book. If you times them by 100 it still wouldn't be enough. it blew me away and made me want to weep when I finished it. yes it really was that good. It's very obvious that Jessica Clare and Jen Frederick are an amazing writing team who can pump out insanely amazing books. I can't wait for book two. They are going on my stalk list so I can get book two the second it is released.
Nick(or Nikolai) is a hit man and while tracking his next hit he finds Daisy, she lives in the building next to him and he finds himself watching her more and more, till one day he see's a man touching her laundry. While stopping him Nick comes face to face with Daisy. Daisy had a loving family till her mother was killed, then her life turned upside down her father became scared of everything and soon their home became her prison. With no other choice Daisy leaves and starts a new life never thinking that she would find anyone like Nick.
When they meet neither can deny the attraction and with Daisy's clothes "accidentally" ruined by Nicolai, Nick convinces her to go shopping with him. And so starts Nick and Daisy's relationship soon Nick and Daisy are falling in love and discovering all life has to offer. But Nick hasn't given up his profession so he finds himself keeping more and more from Daisy. With his mentors death he soon finds himself the target and it will be a race against time to not only kill those guilty but keeping Daisy safe.
Where to start with all the things I loved about this book, I guess it would be easier to tell you what I didn't like.....um nothing. But the very best, wonderful awesome thing about this book would be........ Nick. He may be the most possessive, crazy, stalker, in lover hero I have ever read about ever in my whole entire life. No joke he was insane, I love him and wish that I could take him home. Daisy WAS IT for him no one else would do and all he wanted to do was make her happy and safe she deserved nothing but the very best in his eyes. Nick wasn't even ok with men being by her or looking at her, and when he thought he may loose her his plan was to wreak pain and death in his wake did I mention I loved Nick (seriously there was not a thing that I didn't love about him). Daisy was a great heroine she was strong and determined to find happiness.
The flow of the story was perfect, I never felt like the story was dragged out or that useless filler was added. I was riveted to this book and never wanted to put it down. This amazing writing duo work brilliantly together and did an incredible job writing not only Daisy's point of view but Nikolai, I believed Nick's point of view completely it felt like he was real and that he was really telling his story, it was stunning. I never wanted this book to end. We get a great introduction into the characters of book two, as I was reading I hoped that they would get their own book and was so happy when I saw that they would be next. I hope this series continues for a long time, and that the series just gets better(though I'm not even sure if that's humanly possible. This is a must read.

There is something wrong with me. Because I LOVED Nikolai. And not in a reasonable way! Oh no, in a hysterical Belieber fan way and if anyone says anything wrong about my Nikolai, I will post a hysterical screaming video of myself on youtube where I yell at you all to leave him alone!

I cannot see everything. I've never seen her nude. I've never seen inside her shower. Smartly there is no window there. But I can see her bedroom and her living room and beyond that, with my scope, her kitchen. I know her schedule. When she gets up in the morning, when she returns to her apartment. If she were a mark, I could've killed her a dozen times over by now and been in the wind.

Finishing this book was a constant struggle for me. Last Hit was disappointing in terms of the pacing, plot, characters and romance. There is so much potential in it but the execution of the story didn't grabbed my attention.
* The Pacing - Slow pacing to the point of boredom. I put it down several times and considered not finishing it. I skimmed pages because it was excruciatingly boring and wordy. My pacing starts to pick up around 50%-60%.
* Plot - Uneventful, confusing and lacked the thrill. Categorized as romantic suspense, I expect it to be action packed and fast paced. The kind that will give you an adrenalin rush. To my disappointment, it wasn't thrilling. It took me a while to absorb what goes on the Russian mafia / Bratva. Since the hero was an independent contract killer and he has an unfinished business with his former Bratva. I guess the main problem of this book was focusing more on romance than the suspense aspect. I want more history about the Bratva.
* The Characters - Weak protagonists. Daisy Miller was sheltered throughout her life since her mother was murdred. Her father was traumatized by the incident and feared for his life and daughter. Suffocated by his overprotective daughter, she left home. She was naive, immature and at times stupid. She's prone to danger by easily trusting Nikolai. She never realize he's stalking her. As for Nick Anders / Nikolai Andrushko, I don't find him sexy at all for an assassin. He wasn't even badass.
* The Romance - Daisy and Nikolai have a bland chemistry. It was insta-lust for them. I would be more invested if they have more dialogue just to build up their romance and steam.
Will I continue the series? Possibly. It depends on my mood. Overall, this book was disappointing.

There is just something exciting about a man that is pretty much cold and unemotional who meets the one woman who makes him feel.
Nikolai is a hitman. He was brought in by the Bratva and trained at a very young age to become a killer. The first time he hinted at wanting affection at the age of 9, the Bratva made him kill the mother figure he gravitated too. The second time he showed emotion by letting abused boys take their revenge on the mark he was sent to kill, the Bratva kicks him out. He was only 15 at the time. Being left with only the one thing he knows how to do, he becomes a hitman.
Not only did the author do the Hero in this story right, but she also put a spin on the virgin heroine where it made sense that we have a 21 year old woman who is so naive and innocent. Her story alone was just as interesting as Nikolai's.
Daisy's mother was killed in a robbery gone bad by a young kid drugged up on Meth. Her father reacts in such an extreme way that he basically imprisons Daisy at a young age. His fear of the thug has turned into an illness that has made her suffer and want to break from his hold and runaway.
This is where Daisy and Nikolai end up meeting. She answers an ad for a roommate in an apartment that is across the hall from Nikolai's current mark. He notices her in his stakeout and is immediately drawn to her. He becomes obsessed to a point that he stalks her. He does things that would make some woman run screaming in the other direction. The way the author has you fall for Nikolai and feel sorry for him, wanting him to get that affection he desperately needed all along was brilliant.
He was so lost just trying to do basic things as a man courting a woman, it was endearing. His need to keep her safe and protect her showed how a bad man could be good. It showed how sometimes doing the right thing isn't always best.
You would think Nikolai would be the last person Daisy needs after her ordeal with her father, but he ends up being the best thing that could have happened to her. In the end, he made her stronger and in control of her own life while protecting her and she gave him love. The journey to this end was fascinating.

*** 3.5 TO 4 STARS ***
This is the second Russian mafia book I've read in so many days, so I feel like I'm picking up the language. NOT...;-)) I read The Professional by Kresley Cole and loved it. I liked this one, not as much as I thought I would but liked it enough to recommend it and let others decide what they think.
The second half was definitely more action-packed than the first half. It made the book for me. It JUST PICKED UP. The first half I now refer to as the 'calm before the storm' when the danger lurked far away.
Daisy Miller is a 21 year old woman that finally escapes from her hermit existence with her reclusive father. When she was younger a tragic accident happened and Daisy's father boarded them up for safety. But that initial vigilance soon turned into an obsession leaving Daisy home schooled, exempt from having friends, driving or participating in life in general.
She was responsible for all the shopping and maintenance so she did have contact with the outside world. But her father controlled what she read and watched. The computer was under lock and key...bleak is the word I'm thinking.
Daisy would sqeeze stolen time in the library after her shopping trips and it is there that she felt alive.
When she finally escapes her father's grasp, she heads for Minneapolis. There she trys to build a life all her own.
Nikolai is a hitman for the Russian Bratva(mob), he's biding his days watching a mark that happens to live in the same building Daisy shares with her roommate, Regan. He is facinated by Daisy and eventually meets her. And they're both changed forever.
So, the first half was the get-to-know-you period. It was sweet to see how much Nick cared for her. He was for the first time in his life, bewitched. Daisy was his sunshine in an otherwise dark existence. They spend a lot of time together but Nick withholds who he really is. There were some steamy moments here as well!
Until the Russians come! Daisy and Regan are taken by the Bratva and this is where the book really takes off. I loved the second half! It was fast-paced and action-filled. I also loved Nikolai here, when Daisy finds out about his true profession. He is no longer Nick but the infamous hitman Nikolai.
Daisy was such a great heroine in this part of the book. She was shocked and disappointed to realize how Nick lied to her, but she shows some maturity and strength with how she deals with everything.
I loved the ending, it was sweet and perfect. Nikolai was a wonderful man beneath all the hideousness he was raised to be. There's a part that involves Daisy's father and the past that haunts him that made my heart melt. Nick proves to be the avenging angel and I loved it.
This is the first in a series, and we can't forget about Regan. She was taken with Daisy so the second book is about her and Daniel, one of the Russian Bratva that helped Nick. Let's just say I expect that one to be darker than this, and I can't wait!

4 Killer Stars
I’m a fan of Jessica Clare books. I’ve read all of her billionaire series. She usually gives me a damsel, a strong Hero and some crazy, but cute story-line.
Nikolai is a hit man. He’s monitoring his next hit, but as he is monitoring, he notices a girl that lives in the building across from him. Daisy is everything Nikolai is not. She’s sweet, pure and too good for him.
But that doesn’t stop Nikolai from getting to know Daisy
I’m a huge fan of killer Heroes. I think I love how ruthless they can be. Nikolai grew up in Russia. From an early age he has trained to be cold and heartless. He doesn’t have anyone, but himself and years later he branches away from the people who have made him what he is today.
He works on his own, making money, sleeping with women and just living an okay life.
Daisy is a sad case. She’s poor, she has a girly roommate and she is completely innocent. Daisy’s father is very protective, to the point where he’s controlling, but in an odd loving way. She kind of runs away from home and goes to live her life, except she hasn’t really lived and she’s find it hard to make it on her own.
As much as I love a strong Heroine, I love a damsel! I love the silly naive girl!
The beginning gets me hooked. I loved reading about Daisy’s home life and how she struggles with her father. I also love reading Nikolai’s inner struggles and how his killing is kind of his outlet.
When Nikolai and Daisy first meet, she is unsure about him, but she doesn’t really know anyone so she kind of takes on this crazy relationship.
The interaction between Nikolai and Daisy is very fast emotionally. I thought it would be more insta-lust, but it wasn’t, it was more like, oh-I-like-you and let’s-be-together.
Nikolai of course pampers and tries to protect Daisy. Daisy does try to be strong and independent, but it kind of falls flat.
There’s plenty of tension with Nikolai’s past causing issues and it prevents Nikolai from having an honest relationship with Daisy. I loved the plot and storyline to Last Hit, but I did have some issues with the flow. I wished Daisy and Nikolai had a slower relationship and really build up that sexual frustration that I crave in a read.
Overall, Last Hit is an enjoyable read with most of the things I looked for in a Jessica Clare book and I’m happy to say this is my first Jen Frederick read.
Oh and I love Daisy’s roommate and I can’t wait to read her story in the next book!

I LOVED THIS BOOK SOOOO MUCH!!!
I don't even know how to properly express how much I enjoyed this book. I want to marry Nick, his is just a big marshmallow wrapped in a killer skin lol. God I just adored him. And even though Daisy was pretty innocent and a little naive, she wasn't annoying like a lot of heroine's can be. I liked her, and I especially liked how she handled finding out about Nick's line of work. She didn't freak out and make an awful scene, which I liked. She gave his lifestyle time to sink in before she went and said horrible things that she would later regret. Is that a spoiler? Maybe, not really though right? Oh well lol. This book is definitely on my favourite list, and I'm looking forward to the next book. I highly recommend this book to all my Goodreads friends!

DNF at 25%. This is so disappointing! This dude supposedly has a crush on the heroine. However, he decides that he needs a prostitute to come over to give him a blow job. This is after he has met and talked to the heroine and expressed romantic interest.

Overall Opinion: This was an enjoyable read. I think it might've gotten the full 5 stars from me if not for the ending. Otherwise, the relationship between the characters was so sweet because they were both naive in their own ways and almost desperate for affection. They were an amazing fit for each other in the long run, and were exactly what each other needed.
Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Daisy and Nick's story. Daisy escapes her captive-like home (her father has turned agoraphobic since her mothers murder), and has moved to the city into an apartment she found on Craigslist. Nick is a hitman and is watching a man in the same apartment building as Daisy, and has taken notice of her. He eventually gets the nerve to be close to her, and they meet in her building's laundry room. They start a sweet romance, and feeling start to grow. Of course since he is a hitman -- things are not that easy, and they run into some trouble. There are some suspenseful moments, some sweet moments, some truths revealed, some sexy times, and some revenge plots carried out...but the couple get their HFN ending.
POV: This alternated between Daisy and Nick's POV.
Overall Pace of Story: Good. I didn't feel the need to skim.
Instalove: Yes and no. Yes, because the strong feelings were pretty instant, but no because it wasn't the obnoxious instalove that's doesn't feel natural that I usually hate.
H rating: 4 stars. Nick. He was naive in his own way in that he never really had anyone to love and love him back in return. I found this oddly endearing. He loved Daisy fiercely.
h rating: 4 stars. Daisy. Sweet, naive Daisy. She had an inner strength that was admirable, and I loved the was she cared for Nick even when he wasn't what the typical person would consider desirable (other than his physical attributes of course).
Sadness level: Low. No tissues needed for this one.
Heat level: Moderate. h is a virgin that hasn't even kissed anyone, so they don't actually have sex until later in the book. Their encounters still are steamy though.

This is my main reason for my 4 star versus 5 star rating.
Worth the $?: Yes. I paid the $5.99 which is kind of steep for my books, but I'd still say it was worth it.

This book took me by surprise. Based on the Goodreads rating, this book should be so so. But I like it very much. This is also the first time I read by Jessica Clare. I even have a fantasy about Russian/ Ukraine hit man in a laundry room.
Nicholai is just a GOD! and his Russian accent is just so good. I am obsess with him. The story is light to my liking. I was expecting dark twisted story like TM Frazier book about MC. The topic is for adult audience. Not new adult. The writing style is easy to enjoy. Not to wordy like Jo Raven. But not flirty either. More dramatic style.
I am looking forward to other books by Jessica Clare.

**Spoiler Alert!**
This book is good, almost great! Although the plot was so simple and predictable, it had me hooked by the end of the first chapter. This was the story of Nick or Nikolai, the Russian hit man, and Daisy, an innocent, virgin girl.
Daisy had been sheltered all her life by her father who had been living in fear after receiving the death threats from a man who killed her mother. She couldn’t live like this anymore so she ran away to start her new life. The first time she met Nick, she was immediately attracted to him. He was so good, so tender, and so caring. He treated her like she was the most precious thing in the world to him!
Nick fell for Daisy the very first time he saw her, then he started spying on her. It was a bit creepy but I didn’t know why it was heartwarming at the same time, like he had always been there, watched over her, and ready to protect her from all dangers. **Sigh**

Near the end when she knew all the truth about Nick, she felt hurt and betrayed, and didn’t know if she could trust him again. At that moment, she didn’t know exactly who was the man she loved, Nick or Nikolai. But Nick let her decide freely whether to kill a man who kidnapped her or send him to jail. And that made her come to realize that no matter what his past was, she loved him, flaws and all. It was as simple as that.

There were a bit unrealistic things in the story, I liked it though. This was my pleasurable read. I'll definitely continue with the series!
This book is good, almost great! Although the plot was so simple and predictable, it had me hooked by the end of the first chapter. This was the story of Nick or Nikolai, the Russian hit man, and Daisy, an innocent, virgin girl.
Daisy had been sheltered all her life by her father who had been living in fear after receiving the death threats from a man who killed her mother. She couldn’t live like this anymore so she ran away to start her new life. The first time she met Nick, she was immediately attracted to him. He was so good, so tender, and so caring. He treated her like she was the most precious thing in the world to him!
Nick fell for Daisy the very first time he saw her, then he started spying on her. It was a bit creepy but I didn’t know why it was heartwarming at the same time, like he had always been there, watched over her, and ready to protect her from all dangers. **Sigh**
"You know…touch me?" I can hear the blush in her voice as she speaks. She's eager, but still embarrassed. "I don't want to be a virgin. I want you to teach me about sex. And orgasms. All those things. Will you show me how?"
"How?"
"How to get off?"
I've died. The Madonna in heaven is staring me in the face. I was sure I would go to hell, but there is an angel sitting in my car asking me to stick my hand in her warm cunt and bring her to orgasm. Surely that is Heaven.

I realize he still thinks I hate him, even as he calmly soothes my back as I cry. I look up at him and put my hand to his chin, even as I weep. I force him to look me in the eye. "I love you, Nikolai," I tell him. Nikolai, not Nick.
My Nikolai.
He stiffens and there is a question in his lonely, sad eyes. "Daisy, you know the truth. I am hit man---"
"You are my Nikolai," I tell him softly. "And what you do doesn’t define who you are. We are both rising from our past."
His eyes look suspiciously wet for a moment, and then he crushes me to his chest in a hug so tight that I can’t breathe.
I never want to leave his arms again.
There were a bit unrealistic things in the story, I liked it though. This was my pleasurable read. I'll definitely continue with the series!

Cuando empecé esta lectura nunca pensé que me fuera a gustar tanto y pues obviamente me ha hecho querer continuar con la serie.
Poco a poco he ido adquiriendo un gusto por las historia de mafia y algo curioso es que esos mafiosos asesinos que tienen la sangre fría me han enamorado y sus historias me han hecho sentir lo que otras historias más románticas no.
A esta serie llegué por curiosidad y el dicho no se cumplió y a pesar de que no es la gran historia me cautivó con sus protagonistas ya que con el simple hecho de que los protagonistas te ganen vale la pena.
Los dos me gustaron muchísimo Daisy es una chica que fue criada en una granja con un padre agarofóbico que la tiene aislada y restringida del mundo exterior, así que es una chica inocente e inexperta que quiere libertad y tener el control de su vida, así que cuando se escapa muchas de las cosas que experimenta son nuevas para ella. Es una romántica y quiere a alguien que la quiera pero que no la controle.
Nikolai ay mi dulce y sexy Ucraniano, fue tan lindo en todo el libro, es un asesino a sueldo que pertenecía a la Bratva la mafia rusa, pero es expulsado por su mentor, desde niño ha sido entrenado y no sabe hacer otra cosa y al igual que Daisy en cierta manera es inocente ya que los dos no eligieron ser como son fueron hechos. No sé porque tengo una debilidad por este tipo de protagonistas que son tan hábiles y con sangre fría para matar y torturar pero a la vez son como niños pequeños necesitados de amor y algunos de mis más grandes book boyfriends tienen parecida a la personalidad de Nick yo creo que por eso me gustó tanto.
Tal vez el amor de Daisy y Nick fue un instalove, pero no me importó aunque no suelen gustarme, y pudo rayar en la obsesión por parte de él, pero las autoras lo plantearon tan bien y lo justificaron que me lo creí, lo disfruté, sufrí y me enamoré con ellos.

The cover really did it for me. Dude is seriously HAWT!!
Maybe I'm a tad morbid, but what I didn't like about the book was that it wasn't graphic enough for me. Ya, I'm gross, but I had to imagine too much of the details. Other than that, this book was great. Daisy's character was naive, innocent, ignorant of proper responses (her emotional flip flops were ridiculous), anti-social, sweet, and pretty much what you'd expect from someone raised by an agoraphobe. Nikolai was amazing! I really liked his character. Saved from the streets of the Ukraine, raised to be a cold blooded assassin, he found his heart in Daisy. I liked how authentic his accent seemed to be depicted and how his character calls himself out on not conquering American linguistics. I think it was cute.
I felt bad for roomie Regan. I see the next book is about her and Daniel. I'm definitely going to read that because Daniel intrigued me in this book. How did an American become part of the Bratva??? And I need to know how he rescues Regan and what really happened to her.

The whole thing bored me to tears. I think I hung around for Nick. I really shouldn't have wasted so much time with these two.
Unfortunately, my bad string continues. This one wasn't bad, it just wasn't very good. Not even average good.
Hope you have better luck with it. The author tells you that Amazon has a lower price through the end of the year. A bargain ... NOT!
I won't be continuing the series. Nothing pulls me and like I said ... BORING.

Wow! This book was amazing. The suspense was incredible, it made me so nervous! It was also seriously sexy - Daisy and Nikolai were so hot together! Those particular scenes were so well written. Most surprisingly though, was that this book was actually funny at times. I wasn't expecting that but some of the stuff that goes through Nikolai's head really made me laugh. How bizarre considering he's a hitman. I LOVED this book. It's going on my favorites list.
**as a side note - I alternated between reading and listening to the audiobook and I have to note that this is one of the best audiobooks I have listened to. The narrator for Nikolai- his accent was really good (and REALLY sexy!) 5 stars for the audiobook too!

Last Hit (Hitman #1) by Jessica Clare , Jen Frederick

My favorite type of reads are romance/suspense/ mystery/dark with some scorching hot sex scenes. Straight up romance/angst/sweet are not my thing! I was waiting for this book to go live, I was interested right from the start. The cover hooked me (seriously, don’t lie, it hooked many of us) and I just needed to know what “type” of book it was. I don’t like to read blurbs etc. because I love going into books blind. That being said I liked this book, I like my male leads alittle okay A LOT creepy, but sexy, misunderstood, loyal and VERY alpha. So yes Nick fit the bill perfectly. The sex scenes were DEFINITELY HOT! I also enjoyed the whole Russian mafia storyline. Daisy was a likeable character, and I always like a “stand by your man” kind of girl. She came through just went I thought she would wimp out and THAT I definitely liked. Good supporting characters are a must for me to fully enjoy a book and YES these supporting characters fit that bill too. So much so that I really am looking forward to reading Daniel and Regan’s story. I feel like that book will be even darker than this one & I LOVE my books dark. So why not a higher rating? Well first off EVERYONE knows I’m stingy with my stars. I NEED to FEEL all kinds of crazy ups & downs emotionally to EVER let go of 5 stars. I think it was a little hard for me in the beginning of this book because it took some getting used to adjusting to the fact that he had an accent, it just kind of messed with my flow. This, however may not bother many of you ladies. The book was good in the beginning but didn’t really get “THERE” till just past the halfway mark for me. So all in all I liked this book & I definitely will be reading the next book in this series. Thank God Daniel is American as is Regan so that won’t be an issue at all. I say read it ladies!
