I read a lot of books about art and I suppose coming across one like this was a matter of time. The author wrote this book without a thought to any kind of diversity. I can’t be mad that a book about fashion art is aimed at women, but it seems not to have occurred to the author that women of color might want to see themselves in their collages, or that whoever might want to put a bunch of different body shapes and skin tones in their work. The essential art how-to is fine, but the lack of inclusivity is off-putting. Then the author gets into this whole thing about her husband bringing her back newspapers in other languages from his mission trips overseas like these papers are hard to get in … Southern California? I love that this is a book by and for people who loved paper dolls. Paper dolls are awesome and cutting your own outfits for them is even more awesome. The white thin fashion bias loses points, and I’m trying not to get into the whole creepy missionary thing.

Goodness, this is the cutest book ever! I'm totally not a girly person but I really had to study this book in detail when I saw it. The girly collage creations are so gorgeous! I enjoyed admiring all of them.

I love the author's fashion and writing styles, the instructions are clear and so nicely illustrated with color photos. I'm not real good at drawing so I also appreciated the basic lessons in drawing body shapes, poses and parts of the body like the eyes and lips.

I found this an interestingly unusual book on collage and mixed media craft projects, the fashion angle is so fun and creative!

Terrific book to quickly learn how to put together a fashion illustration using collage. I have difficulty drawing figures, so this book really appealed to me. The author takes the pressure off, no wrong way to do this, with her personal-experience approach. She gives clear instructions. The steps are easy and simple. A very enjoyable how-to book

Excellent, clear instructions with several extremely cute projects to follow. The author is very encouraging of finding your own style as well and her work is so lovely, I found my own creativity inspired. I am heading to the craft store in a bit. :)

A fun book with practical how-to's. I love her encouraging words. She says that everyone can be creative and even draw people (with practice). I have hope....
