Well ... what a strange book this is .. half way through it was driving me insane & i'm not sure whether i like it, loathe it or just don't know the difference anymore. The way it is written & the conversation's do not flow & it is not an easy or an enjoyable read .. but, there's just something that keep's spurring you on ... there are no spectacular twist's & turn's & the end is a damp squid ... it just sort of fizzle's out ... but, is that the point ?? This is a book crying out for a discussion but no-one else has even written a review so maybe they are all as baffled/intrigued/bewildered as i am ?? I'm i supposed to not like Howard ?? Charlie's a great character but is it a reflection on me if i favour him with his drink & drug's and questionable moral's ?? The prose is so abrupt & the anecdote's so stop start that you are led to fill in most of the blank's yourself ... and as for Simon !! I read it ... now i just need some one to talk to who will explain it to me !! Anyone .... Please ....
