By popular demand, it’s a new collection of illustrations from cartoonist Shannon Wheeler
This next collection of illustrations from cartoonist Shannon Wheeler continues a run that began with the Eisner Award-winning book, I THOUGHT YOU WOULD BE FUNNIER. Where do cartoons go when they’ve been bounced by the New Yorker? When they’re as funny as what’s floating in Wheeler’s brain, they’re boiled down to the best of the bounced and presented in one laugh-out-loud volume.
I first came across Shannon Wheeler's work as the author of a trippy comic strip called "Too Much Coffee Man" and loved the shambling, rambling kookiness of the strip. This book of single panel cartoons sees him writing for publication and although it is less freewheeling and anarchic than those TMCM strips, it's a great collection with plenty of clever, subversive humor. Most are indeed in that New Yorker style where for just the briefest second You Dont Get it, and then you DO and laugh.
This is a smaller sized cartoon book from the famous Shannon Wheeler. The comics are broken down into: Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression & Acceptance (Ironically, the 5 stages of death when diagnosed with a terminal illness.) A fast paced read with some great drawings.
Hilarious collection of New Yorker cartoons from the great, offbeat creator of Too Much Coffee Man. You can't beat Wheeler's sense of humor. We'll be interviewing him soon on The Comics Alternative podcast.
This is a cartoon collection for people who are smart, clever, and appreciate cats, coffee, therapy, and hilarious moments in their own minds. Delightful and exactly what you'd expect from one of the New Yorker's best cartoonists.
